Picked up my Navi about a month ago and already at 1000 miles. Use it for DoorDashing in my small town and it’s perfect, the price was a bit excessive from all the dealer fees OTD I paid $3,700 but practically already paid it self off with how much I save on gas now 👌🏼

I paid $2400 for my navi out the door! Now I have a lot of dealers near me ripping people off with fake fees but I found a Honda dealer 2 hours away they gave me a honest, fair price. Honda charges $300 for shipping the rest was dealer fee and taxes. If you buy a navi make sure you shop around, my first price was $1200 more than what I finally paid.

My Navi was $2628 including shipping it in from another dealer 300 miles away because I wanted the color shown in the video. Financed with $0 down, $91/mo. for 36 months. I'm getting about 80mpg in stop and go traffic, top end is 50mph. Best bike I ever had, and I've had plenty. My insurance is $221/yr. I doubt that eBike is allowed on the roads I'm traveling and I doubt it will ever go as fast. I keep a small can of gas in my luggage compartment for emergencies. Honda has done it again!

Decent comparison but he paid too much for that Navi. The dealer fleeced him. They typically go for around $2,400 OTD. ($1,800 + $300 in freight & surcharge + $200 Sales Tax + $150 registration +/- Negotiation) And that is the problem with buying vehicles at dealerships. It isn't pleasant and the chances are high of getting ripped off when you are inexperienced vehicle buyer.

Getting a Navi soon and I’m hyped son!
I used to have a 7 mile each way commute on a road bike.
Never had an e-bike but for the price, even though there are a couple more steps, I do think the minimoto route is going to open many more doors.
I love how e-bikes exist but for daily life in the city not needing to charge and keep track of a battery is going to be a huge bonus. Cheap gas cost to fill up is another bonus. It’s almost hilarious how people’s brains break when you inform them how little you pay to fill up.
The Honda Ruckus (what I’ve been riding and what got me interested in Honda minimotos)is a good option for people that are interested in either an e-bike or minimoto and already have a driver’s license but don’t wanna mess with getting a motorcycle license.
I still need to get my motorcycle license.
    Wish me luck!
    I’m sure it’ll be a breeze😎

Ebikes are great for shorter commutes and riding around the neighborhood and being able to ride on a sidewalk if needed. If commuting across town without being able to ride on the freeway definitely the Navi would be the way to go.$3000+ otd for the Navi is way to much though. If it’s $1800 we shouldn’t have to pay more than $2300 otd.

A Honda 50 dirt bike/CRF50 is over $3,000 in our area due to additional fees. A PCX 150 is close to $6,000, so this is a pretty good bargain considering. Sure, you can order a Chinese scooter for $1,400 and be unsure it will make two years or pay upfront and get one of these with proven technology that's been on the shelf for decades.

I just got my Navi today. Don't sleep on the fork lock feature to lock up your wheel when you park it for the night. It's absurd that they haven't been able to figure out how to make an e-bike truly convenient in terms of range and charge. It would be so easy to get your ass stranded somewhere without juice. So you can't even venture that far. Not that you would, but you literally could drive cross country on a Navi non stop except for what amounts to two minute fuel stops. I might be stereotyping a bit too much here. But I feel like the people that buy E-Bikes are often the type of people that want to make a show of being on an E-Bike, and telling you they own and E-Bike to send the message that they think they are smarter than you, by using electric power.

It all comes down to preference and availability. If the city has good bike paths that you can ride bikes safely, the e bike would be a great solution especially with a tight budget. However if you require to travel just slightly farther and it's more bustling roads and less bike lanes, the Navi is definitely a way to go. Sure paying 2.5-3k is pricier, but when it comes to long term investments the Navi helps greatly when it comes to commuting. Overall great comparison video.

Several hidden pro's for the Navi. The cost of e-bikes mostly comes from the battery, which degrades over time no matter what. After 3+ years, your typical e-bike will have a resell value of about $300 tops. The Navi, being a street legal bike, will always have a healthy used market. Also, though e-bikes are simpler than the Navi, bikes and electric scooters can and will have quirks such as cheap fenders that make noise or certain screws that have to be tightened, and I'm told hub motors rarely get beyond 5k miles before service is required(magnets becoming loose, etc). But the Navi, like all good motor vehicles, will have a shop manual and the maintenance schedules are laid out simply, and any issues you might encounter can be diagnosed and fixed. I'd say the Navi and a class 3 e-bike serve difference purposes. If you need higher speed and actually plan on putting lots of miles, better to skip the e-bike(though I still want one).

My Goat bike does 45 mph for 2500.00. I get 50 miles per charge ( at work). I can put it in the back of my suv. I can ride on the sidewalk, beach, trails and keep up with street traffic. No lic, reg, gas excise tax but to each his own. How often are you going to ride a 100 miles per day?

  • @adam346
    @adam346 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

the crux of this comparison comes down to where you are riding and the laws around e-bikes and motorcycles... where I am, you are required by law to insure and wear at the very least a DOT helmet for motorcycles... so if you get hit by a car, even if it is your fault, you get a new bike and medical paid for but your insurance will go up.. where as with an e-bike.. you get nothing but a massive medical bill (again, depending on where you are). Also some places limit e-bikes even further to around 20 miles per hour by throttle only. But, depending on the E-bike you can buy extra batteries to have charged and on you to switch over, mildly (though not completely) negating distance issues... and you can also pedal to save power.

That sounds like me. I bought an ebike, Lectric, they shipped it to my house. 1000 bucks, minimal assembly, just like any modern bicycle. Road it a little around town, POS only goes for 20 miles on a charge, and you do not want to pedal these things, they did not design them to be actually pedaled like a bicycle. They come with lights on the front and rear. Fenders and a shock absorbing front fork. Top speed 22 mph.
I said, piss on that. I picked up an honda adv 150. A much superior bike than the navi. About 4700 out the door. It's a maxi scooter, 150 cc engine, fuel injection, full headlights, tail lights, brake lights, blinkers, horn, huge under seat storage, easily handles 2 people on board, gets about 70 mpg and top speed is around 63 mph. I've put 4500 miles on it last summer. I stay off of the interstate and other heavily traveled highways. Wisconsin has a lot of good paved County and town roads to explore. The bike holds 2.1 gallons of gas and if I'm on the road and running low, I'll just go to any gas station and fuel up for another carefree 150 miles.

E-bikes are a waaaaaay better choice for most short distance, shop-trip, college town and senior riders among others. They are less demanding physically, cheaper to operate, nearly maintenance-free, Not smelly, easier to to store, bike rackable and lots more. The NAVI is a toy motorcycle and really marketed toward the owners of bigger Cycles...regardless of what some YT reviewers have said. This is not an entry-level bike for a potential motorcyclist. If you want to get into motorcycles, get a more full-size CB300R or similar bike and learn to handle all road conditions with more "authority".

4 to 5 hours with the supplied charger. You can buy a faster charger. For commuting you keep a charger at both ends and never worry about how long it takes to charge. You do pay for charging though. That charging cost adds up &, depending on location, could even reach a dollar a week;)

@@terrycruise-zd5tw TOO TRUE. You can get a charger that allows you to choose the amperage. Then you can trickle charge when you have the time or fast charge when you don't.
