    It seems that Navi is physically bigger than the Grom and more spacious. That would make it more comfortable in spite of poor suspension and seat quality, is that right? I sat once on a Navi in a dealership and the seat seamed well-padded and pretty comfortable, definitely spacious.

    • @ModdedProjectsGarage

      The navi is a little taller, the seat isn’t bad for short rides, but trust me you’ll feel it after you’ve ridden it long enough 😂. Overall it’s great for the price!

    I live near a downtown area and am a new rider. What a new rider needs to be careful of with the Navi, is that, while it's not a fast bike at speed, that little shit is quick 0-30 and involves a little practice with throttle control if you've never ridden and are still learning balance. When the light turns green, she wants to GO.

      For the higher speed, I’d have to say the Grom would be better especially if you have a fair share of 55mph zones on your commute. If it’s just occasional 55mph zones the navi would be fine. I’m 210lbs and have never had my navi up to 55 even down a hill. My navi doesn’t have any mods yet either though, but even then it might a tough. If you’re a lighter rider it might be doable.

    ***update*** (12/27/22):
    I never bought the navi even though it’s the first bike I saw that inspired me to learn and go to mss. Learned and passed on a grom. Love the grom/considering one. Not a fan of shifting/stalling but then again my rider experience is only two days and 45 minutes, so of course I need to practice.
    narrowed down to 10 bikes on my list. 8 of which are manual, 1 electric and then navi. No Chinese junk makes.
    The manual ones on my list are able to have a rekluse clutch fitted to it which will make stalling no longer an issue. I will still have to shift with my foot but that’s not a problem. Plus I can still use the clutch if I want to as it is still recommended. A rekluse will not make it automatic but it will eliminate stalling coming to/taking off from a stop.
    The prices people are asking for a navi otd/used are ridiculous when I can get a decent used 2018-2020 Grom for the same price. I honestly can’t justify spending any more than $1500 on a navi. There’s too much crap you’re gonna have to do to it in order to make it up to decent specs and that’s dumping at least another two grand into it.
    So I’m def still browsing. I’m shopping under 650cc pref. My most powerful bike on my list is the Vulcan S, weakest is navi.

    • @mintyhobo2348
      @mintyhobo2348 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Stalling is normal when you're first learning. That's why it takes practice. If you like the Grom more in pretty much every regard, you should go for the Grom and learn. You'll probably want to learn shifting either way if you're serious about motorcycling.
      You cannot swap the brakes without serious skills or monetary investment on a Navi. Frankly, you'd spend more on the Navi swapping out things and modding it than you would buying a Grom outright.
      Coming from someone who was in the same boat (bought a Navi after the course), I can wholly recommend just getting the Grom instead.

      It's a bit silly to buy a Grom, then not ride it until you get a semi-auto clutch upgrade. Unless you're mechanically inclined, you'll also have to pay and wait for an install too. Not worth it.
      Just ride it around the neighbourhood a bit, you'll get the hang of a clutch in no time. Trust me.
      If you're so dead set on a semi-auto bike, maybe look into the Trail or Supercub if you're in the States. But honestly, learn the clutch. Better to learn how sooner, rather than instilling bad habits now and making it harder to learn in the future.
