- Warsaw, Poland is considered to be a cheap place to live for expats. Just how cheap is it though? What is a realistic cost of living? Kalie from ExpatsEverywhere sits down with Amina, an expat from Algeria who now lives in Warsaw. Amina talks about culture shock, getting fined on public transportation, how to live in Warsaw on a budget, racism, and much more.

Amina you are amazing. All the best from all polish people. Welcome to Poland..
That's very kind.
I love this brutal honesty. This is what we needed when moving to Austria. Everything was 'perfect' in Austria and far from it once we got here.
What a delightful lady Amina is! Thank you for sharing your experiences.
She is great!
Amina has a winning personality. Poland and Warsaw are lucky to have her.
Thanks Jurek!
Amina def. has a winning personality. Her laugh and smile are infectious .
Great info, Kalie!
Thank you, Terri!! 🙏 - Kalie
Amina is so brave and resourceful. I shudder about the hitchhiking, though!! I really enjoyed my bikepacking visit to Poland back in the 90's.Such a beautiful country.
Thank you Frances!
Poland has changed such a lot since the 90s, come over :D
Amina, you are a gem!

We really enjoyed it, Amina. It feels like yesterday that we met up with you for this interview!
Take care and please keep creating content!
I didn't know you studied computer science! Just got this video recommended on my feed.
important information. each city has a different payment system for public transport tickets.
such an open hearted person she is..
She definitely is. She's very cool to hang out with.
It's difficult NOT to smile listening to Amina's stories. 🙂 Are you planning to record an episode about Wrocław, perhaps?
I have not heard about foreigners being harassed or hit during the Independence Day march which is well protected by Polish police and volunteers. The Independence Day is a big deal in Poland because it celebrates the reappearance of Poland on the map of Europe after 123 years. The Independence Day is celebrated by all kinds of people including family with children. You can also meet some foreigners during the Independence Day march and celebrations. All the best and Pan Zalewski is lucky to have a wife like you!
I am moving to Warsaw from Dubai this February. Thanks for this information ❤
Welcome 😊 Have a great time and make sure you pack appropriately for that massive climate change. - Josh & Kalie
@Me_Gerard how's your stay in Poland so far. Would you be kind to write me about your visa application process from Dubai'. Thanks!
@ExpatsEverywhere Explores Good day, would €3000 be enough for two people for to live on for two months?
@@wilberdebeer4696 yes.
Amina is really cool !!!
She is.
She's so real🎉
She really is. Her channel when she was active was really good. - Josh & Kalie
You walked through hard pass, you are very brave! Wish you a great success and happiness! Thanks for the info! Hello from Ukraine!
Thank you !
I am from Morocco.
I am living in Warsaw
I have really enjoyed this story and its information.
Thanks for both of you
Glad you enjoyed it!
I admire her positivity, especially when not getting paid for work, that's bs!
AMINAA ❤️❤️🇩🇿
At 7:43 , when you say you want to be paid daily, they will pay you cash in hand. No records, no paying tax, no protections.
What a crazy story..she's hardcore! Now I know I can survive there! peace.
Very informative.. Being a international student i understand exactly what she is saying.. ✌️😅
Thank you. We're glad you liked it!
What a beautiful bravel young woman
It's not cheap wroclaw or opole should be much cheaper but the universities anyway they are on the last places in the eu standing so. For job too smaller cities can sometimes give you better ratio income/quality of life than war saw.
For sure. Capital cities generally tend to be more expensive. - Josh & Kalie
Hi, the link to her channel does not work...thanks.

Something happened here. We think we've got it fixed.

The issue of 11 November is exaggerated. The nationalist marches are not violent, they are quite peaceful. Some of the people are xenophobic, chauvinistic, maybe even fascists, but it's not like they're doing anything bad to other people.
She is cute and brave ❤
She is great!
Great video and all. but where do you find these people? I understand everyone has the right to live as they choose, but her experience comes across as though she was living off others. Her expense statistics for living in Warsaw seem completely unrealistic.
No, no one is going to beat you on independence day.
I am from South Africa, would like to live and work in Poland. It is not save here anymore and our freedom to walk in town or go places are getting more dangerous. Your own home is like a jail, barb wire, alarms, beams, security systems etc. Walk around with a firearm and pepperspray and knife.
Sorry that you don't feel safe at home any more! - Josh & Kalie
Poles are not genetically adapted to the cold, we suffer the same. ;)
Independent day is nothing to do with a race .It's about our freedom from occupation .✌
You are so sweet and beautiful .❤❤
😊 thank you - Josh & Kalie
I am very sorry that your employer deceived you. You can report it to the employment office and the tax office.
I don't know how you can live on $50 a week.
I also don't know how you wanted to study in France with such a budget.
Too bad you didn't learn the language after all these years.
Independence day riots indead can happen in Warsaw, but rioters fight "just" police. Foreigners should be safe until they wont do something really stupid, like trying to pass between fighting groups.
It's the "huligans " .Bunch of unemployed punks living with their parents. Human garbage.
Yeah, sadly at the 11th November nationalists and fascists take Warsaw hostage, but in other cities its pretty chill. For example in Poznań we have at the same day Saint Martins Day and its a street festival and alongside that we also celebrate the 11th September without that nationalistic BS. We even have a saying that was created as "counter culture" to the nationalists taking hostage the 11th September which is "Make rogals, not war".
Have you ever been to Poland or you are just trolling? Independence Day is celebrated on 11 November, not 11 September.
@@7quercus77 I'm part of a non-gov org that goes under the name Ośrodek Do Monitorowania Zachowań Rasistowskich i Ksenofobicznych (Rasism and Xenophobia Monitoring Center) in Poland. So of there someone who has actual knowledge about the topic it's me and my coworkers from my foundation.
Greetings.
PS: Yeah, basic english translation mistake with the month, but doesnt mean tho that Im trolling. As I said, Im one of the most competent people in that very specific topic.
@@bohomazdesign725 And you even don't know the date of the National Independence Day. This NGO cannot be a reliable source of information.
@@7quercus77 told you, translation mistake, but not that it matters. What matters is that nationalists tookover our beautiful celebration of Independence and turned it into a racial and xenophobic slur fest and invites freakin neonazis from the italian neonazi terror organisation Forza Nuova as speakers at the "parade".
@@7quercus77 That NGO is an extreme far leftist organization, that hates patriotic people and groups, and pushes mass foreign immigration, while pushing for the destruction of national identities.
The first girl's English is not the best either to criticize other people 😅
Thanks for your update
I am interested in Poland
How can I get your personal contact
Pls can you help me move to Poland
Thank you
