I recently returned from my first tour of Iceland. It is a magnificent country. As someone who prefers cooler weather and loves nature, I enjoyed Iceland a lot although I'm not so sure I could live there in the winter. The architecture in Reykjavik and nearby areas is quite interesting. I definitely found Iceland to be a very expensive country and though I have heard the taxes are very high, I have also heard that the average salary is $6000 a month. The local fish is delicious. I tasted Arctic char for the first time and really enjoyed it. It's like a lighter version of salmon. I was surprised to see a bottle of cod liver oil available at every breakfast buffet but it is quite typical for Icelanders and of course if you live in Iceland during the winter months, that daily vitamin D boost would be super important. I loved your video and the incredible scenery. I loved seeing the beautiful horses. Iceland has their own unique breed of horses. Your content makes me want to return to Iceland. Thank you❤
I love Iceland! I’ve been twice. The 2nd time I did save enough where I didn’t have to worry about the expense. I know people from Iceland, so I understood the Scandi, cool exterior, when they’re not in a bar or on vacation. Many feel squeezed out by the tourists, so they have mixed feelings. If you go to a music event, or a bar, you’ll experience more of their warm, down to earth nature. In 2018 my lunches were around $25.00 and dinners, $40-$50. The hostel breakfast was about $18. I couldn’t live there any longer than 2 months at a time. The “cold” summers and the dark winters would be a problem. The beginning of November, the sun didn’t come out until after 9:00, fully around 10ish. I could only be happy being nocturnal, and not having to work. A life of nighttime partying! 😆
Superior in safety to many places, beautiful, clean and not so stressed but very expensive and weather can get to "the level of madness" sometimes. And it's growing, population is passing 400,000 by this years end.

We tried being nocturnal and not working in Madrid when we were in our 20s and it nearly killed us.
Looks like a nice place but I would be leary of the weather as well.
