I knew his football career was on the edge when he didn't go first round and didn't get drafted the NFL used that injury against him but I think he was a real gutsy guy to play through the pain to help his team win the championship in 2020 they can say what they want to say about him but if he didn't play that year they would have been able to tell he wasn't out there because he made a lot of huge plays on crucial downs even though he wasn't 100 percent I got much respect for him it's just a shame how it is.

As a diehard Alabama fan I have always had alot of respect and love for Dylan Moses. When he got injuried and was out for the season started the downward turning point in his football career. Once he returned he was never the same player. To play ILB you got to be smart and fast in order to be the QB of the defense. Dylan was great at that position. It litterly broke my heart as I watched the NFL draft and his name was never called. I live in Jacksonville and I was excited to see the Jaguars picked him up as an unsigned player. Eventually they released him and now he is out of football. I hope he gets an opportunity to play in the USFL and get a chance to redeem himself as a gifted player.
Son had a great college career he got to experience what it feels like to play at the college level and at the end of the day he’s a two time championship team member and a UA grad 👨🏾🎓 🏆 🏆

And following his college career destined for the NFL and projected first round was devastating to hear of his injury. He was never the same or even show but you should see the effort to be better. I was wishing the best for him at Jacksonville but knew it was going to be a long shot. Wishing him the best now because he was a guy of good character and integrity. This one HURTS!!!!!

Dude was a hard player, clean cut, and a model team mate. I respected him alot because he was never a problem for the program not like some football players getting arrested and suspended due to behavior problems.
I taught Dylan in 7th grade at Broadmoor Middle School in BRLA. He was the kindest, most respectful, hardest working student I have ever taught in my 28+ year career. He was already a highly sought-after player and broke his back that year. Being able to come back from that devastating injury is a testament to his dynamic diligence on and off the field. The fact that his career ended early due to a common injury is only a sign that his life was destined to move in another direction. Whatever happens to him will be amazing.
There's always the lowest life form that "hates" on people but most of us Bama fans were super upset FOR him. It killed us to watch that happen to him. A vast majority of us really hoped for him to make the grade in the NFL even though he didn't take the normal path to the pros. Bama fans didn't hate on Dylan -- that was a big blanket statement that covered way too much.

I'm a UGA fan but I'm also a overall football fan and Dylan Moses was a great player with no weaknesses in his game. I hate to see someone like him that did everything right end up in a bad situation due to circumstances that he didn't create.
He spent the first half of his senior year trying to avoid contact. I can't blame him and many players do it after injuries. MLB is just a tough position to play that way. Instead of stuffing a hole or scraping through a gap and making tackles at the line of scrimmage he was making tackles 6-10 yards downfield. Even analysts that had no connection to Alabama could see it, and obviously the NFL saw it too. If not for that bad film some team would have taken a chance on him like they did with Jaylon Smith, who had a much more risky injury to come back from. My peroneal nerve has been about 98% dead for over 40 years because it never did come back.

He played with the heart of a champion that he was and gave his all for the tide he will forever be in my heart one of the best linebackers we ever had because of what he put up with and did not for himself but for his team that is true heart and you can't be against somebody with heart like that Roll Tide

I tore a knee up in 1982 in high school. Obviously, medical technology wasn't even comparable to what we have now! I had letters from Georgia, Tennessee, Vandy, Georgia Tech, Jacksonville State, North Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, & South Alabama. Suffice it to say, when they found out about the knee, everything went silent. I did get calls from North Alabama & Jacksonville State asking me to walk on, stating that "if you can do the things like we think you can do..yada....yada....yada, we'll get you a scholarship the next year." Well, I've had friends over the years that thought they were good enough to "walk on" and earn a scholarship, only to quit football, even if they did elect to continue their education, because they were essentially used as tackling dummies, some with resulting injuries that haunt them to this day! Along with my knee, I had shoulder and ankle issues from my high school days, and I respectfully declined both "offers" from NA & Jax State. No disrespect to them, but put plainly, I wasn't going to put my body, which could've been surgically repaired, in a position to be ran over by some 300+ pounder for anybody's education! Knee injuries?? I don't care who you are! You never completely get over something like that! Take Jamison! I really hope he and Metch do well in the NFL! But if I were a betting man, they might get a good year or two out of them. But hey! They're rich......right? I'm elated for them! My heart breaks for Dylan! My prayer is that his education will do him well in another field!

I thought this kid would be Adrian Peterson or Leonard Fournette as a RB I was disappointed to see him as a LBer. I couldn’t believe when he went undrafted I felt even with an injury he had enough film and potential to be at least a 5th rounder.

I personally think the Coaches and University mismanaged the young man’s career and injury. He should’ve been shutdown after the Mizzou win. I know “Team” fans only will say, “No, we needed him to win the Natty” perhaps this is true but what did he need? He gave everything he had to the school and game he loved, but when he needed them there was nothing they could do. The Mizzou Game he was near his 2018 form, fast from sideline to sideline, stuffing holes etc.. He played that season hurt which gave scouts a reason not to pick him. Before he decided to return his senior season he was still projected as a 3rd Round pick. He came back to show he had healed and suffered another injury, tried to play through it and gave scouts a reason to say no! Saban or Golding should’ve pulled the chord and allowed him to train and prepare for the combine. Scouts would’ve had all pre injury tape and one post injury game with 8 tackles 2FL, & a stellar combine workout to breakdown, instead of an entire season of him hurt & no combine performance. Some will say that doesn’t matter which isn’t true because we just saw the number one overall pick change due to the combine! I also believe The mismanagement of his injury is hurting us with the recruitment of his little brother also and other notable defensive players from the state of La. I’m not blaming Saban at all, I think in hindsight it’s one of the things he wishes he could do over again, just like Tua’s injury etc.. just my take on it.. I know he’s trying everything to get to the league I hope he can!
I think it’s just SO weird for us to not see Alabama players go first round and dominate the nfl. Not every single player is gonna go first round or even be drafted for that matter or even have a decent pro career..
FYI Moses damaged his knee further by playing on it all season despite being in pain that senior year. That probably ruined his chances at an NFL career. He had to have another surgery and sat out the entire 2021 season with the Jags because of it.

The injury really messed him up but he was a little overrated to begin with. Much better athlete than football player. He probably would have been better as a box safety than mlb. He was not a mlb. Go look at the games he was not physical at all.
He had another year of eligibility (covid) and decided to leave school instead of coming back another year. His senior yr was just full of bad tape; We all make our choices in life.
He peaked n middle school. He f'ked up when he left U-High n Baton Rouge for IMG n Bradenton. He surrounded himself with people who don't give a shit about him.
With a draft score in the mid rounds, I'm sure Saban encouraged him to stay for the "do over" year. Somebody (family, friend, etc) got in his head and talked him into chasing the instant money. I don't know why anyone would think it would turn out well with his last film evidence.
completely disagree with this assessment. 2018 showed that Moses was the opposite of an instinctive player. the amount of bad busts and wtf plays spoke for itself. he was never a natural tackler. people blamed Mack Wilson and Golding / Tosh for the problems in 2018, but Dylan made tons of mistakes. Mack was a very instinctive player from day 1, just had iffy leadership ability. Moses was an athlete trying to play linebacker. heading into 2020, I kept saying I felt sorry for Moses, because he had All-American first round expectations based on zero experience in the middle as the signal caller. instead it was just based on recruiting hype and speed. it wasn't surprising at all what happened. when all of the mock drafts came out in spring 2020, I said Moses should have gone out for the draft after his knee injury to get a guaranteed rookie contract before his play in the spotlight hurt his stock... it was all downside for him. no disrespect at all. he battled and was a great student athlete and leader on a title team. it's just a matter of completely unfair, unreasonable expectations from recruitniks and folks that weren't paying close attention in 2018.

I’ll always remember him as the guy Loserana College and Alabama offered when he was in the eighth grade. I seem to recall his dad had a military background so this kid had values. Sad that he is out of football now. Hopefully at some point maybe he can get into coaching if he wants to be around the sport. If NIL was around a few years earlier he would have probably had at least a couple of million from that.

I know “Team” fans only will say, “No, we needed him to win the Natty” perhaps this is true but what did he need? He gave everything he had to the school and game he loved, but when he needed them there was nothing they could do. The Mizzou Game he was near his 2018 form, fast from sideline to sideline, stuffing holes etc.. He played that season hurt which gave scouts a reason not to pick him. Before he decided to return his senior season he was still projected as a 3rd Round pick. He came back to show he had healed and suffered another injury, tried to play through it and gave scouts a reason to say no! Saban or Golding should’ve pulled the chord and allowed him to train and prepare for the combine. Scouts would’ve had all pre injury tape and one post injury game with 8 tackles 2FL, & a stellar combine workout to breakdown, instead of an entire season of him hurt & no combine performance. Some will say that doesn’t matter which isn’t true because we just saw the number one overall pick change due to the combine! I also believe The mismanagement of his injury is hurting us with the recruitment of his little brother also and other notable defensive players from the state of La. I’m not blaming Saban at all, I think in hindsight it’s one of the things he wishes he could do over again, just like Tua’s injury etc.. just my take on it.. I know he’s trying everything to get to the league I hope he can!

I think it’s just SO weird for us to not see Alabama players go first round and dominate the nfl. Not every single player is gonna go first round or even be drafted for that matter or even have a decent pro career..
His senior year stats were not a drop off that should’ve been identified! Coming off of a major knee surgery, those stats are respectable

FYI Moses damaged his knee further by playing on it all season despite being in pain that senior year. That probably ruined his chances at an NFL career.
He had to have another surgery and sat out the entire 2021 season with the Jags because of it.

The injury really messed him up but he was a little overrated to begin with. Much better athlete than football player. He probably would have been better as a box safety than mlb. He was not a mlb. Go look at the games he was not physical at all.

The key to overcoming ACL surgeries 100% is testosterone and HGH, but its considered cheating, and shouldn't be when rehabbing
With a draft score in the mid rounds, I'm sure Saban encouraged him to stay for the "do over" year. Somebody (family, friend, etc) got in his head and talked him into chasing the instant money. I don't know why anyone would think it would turn out well with his last film evidence.

completely disagree with this assessment. 2018 showed that Moses was the opposite of an instinctive player. the amount of bad busts and wtf plays spoke for itself. he was never a natural tackler. people blamed Mack Wilson and Golding / Tosh for the problems in 2018, but Dylan made tons of mistakes. Mack was a very instinctive player from day 1, just had iffy leadership ability. Moses was an athlete trying to play linebacker.
heading into 2020, I kept saying I felt sorry for Moses, because he had All-American first round expectations based on zero experience in the middle as the signal caller. instead it was just based on recruiting hype and speed. it wasn't surprising at all what happened. when all of the mock drafts came out in spring 2020, I said Moses should have gone out for the draft after his knee injury to get a guaranteed rookie contract before his play in the spotlight hurt his stock... it was all downside for him.
no disrespect at all. he battled and was a great student athlete and leader on a title team. it's just a matter of completely unfair, unreasonable expectations from recruitniks and folks that weren't paying close attention in 2018.

I’ll always remember him as the guy Loserana College and Alabama offered when he was in the eighth grade. I seem to recall his dad had a military background so this kid had values. Sad that he is out of football now. Hopefully at some point maybe he can get into coaching if he wants to be around the sport. If NIL was around a few years earlier he would have probably had at least a couple of million from that.
