I'd argue that it wasn't the coach that ruined Freeman. It was the fact that they got way too into Glennon. Freeman improved when he finally got a #1 receiver again (Vincent Jackson). Glennon proved he's not a starting QB, yet he still played well when he had 2 incredibly good receivers (VJ, Mike Evans). Freeman then picked up again for the Colts but never got another chance.

As he was awarded the Thomas A. Simone Award. The first time ever see Dick Butkus in person who was a guest speaker. And Dude. Even at the time of being in his late 60s. He is still a BIG guy. Likely still kick your ass. Though I knew he would get into some trouble going to K-State. Really should have not went QB. Likely done better in the career but as my father says, "He still won the lottery." As he played in the NFL and got paid a lot of money to throw the ball.

I'd argue that it wasn't the coach that ruined Freeman. It was the fact that they got way too into Glennon. Freeman improved when he finally got a #1 receiver again (Vincent Jackson). Glennon proved he's not a starting QB, yet he still played well when he had 2 incredibly good receivers (VJ, Mike Evans).
Freeman then picked up again for the Colts but never got another chance.
Nice story at the beginning. If we can ever figure out a way to help young folks actually learn from our mistakes, the world would be in good shape.

I personally went to school with Josh Freeman, Grandview High, Grandview, Missouri, class of 2006. Dude was great on the field and he was a really nice guy off. Sat in the rest of the school. As he was awarded the Thomas A. Simone Award. The first time ever see Dick Butkus in person who was a guest speaker. And Dude. Even at the time of being in his late 60s. He is still a BIG guy. Likely still kick your ass.
Though I knew he would get into some trouble going to K-State. Really should have not went QB. Likely done better in the career but as my father says, "He still won the lottery." As he played in the NFL and got paid a lot of money to throw the ball.
