I used to be a state parole agent in Pennsylvania. One of the dudes I supervised did exactly the same thing after getting drunk one night. That’s really sad! Especially when some of us had no choice but to stop playing so we could continue to live indoors. I played some minor league but that was the last of it in my 20s.
and now he is an all-star again here in the CFL and has led the Argos to a 14-2 record that could tie the 1989 Edmonton Eskimos who went 16-2 for the greatest regular season in league history with two games to go mind you CFL is 18 games one more than the NFL's 17 and he has a good shot at leading them to back to back titles. Yet he is still 4th in passing yards 3rd in passing touchdowns and 2nd in rushing touchdowns, not number 1 in any category. As a starter, he has a 12-2 record
Breaking news, the New Orleans Saints have signed Chad Kelly due to Hill’s injury and Winston’s season ending injury. I wouldn’t be shocked if that happened
Encourage your kids to be great without using pedestals. And cement respect in their being. Because when steroids and concussions are thrown in the mix, sometimes they can’t even grasp that what they’re doing is wrong

Ok, I’m starting to enjoy your content it is a interesting point of view on the backstories and the where are they at now. You lost me on the phrase that the Ole Miss vs Alabama game was one of the worst games under Coach Saban. Perceptional of course, but to use perspective maybe a little recency bias the A&M game is a recent example of poor play, Almost every team that has beaten Bama over the years is because their QBs played the games of their entire lives ah la, Chad Kelly, Jarret Stidham, Johnny Football, Stephen Garcia, Cardale Jones, Trevor Knight, freakin Bo Wallace…keep ‘em coming tho these vids are great
Great point about there being other better than some of the greatest, i remember in high school there was a guy who in my eyes was unquestionably the most athletic in our whole region. He loved sports but drugs got a hold of him, his potential was endless. Its truly sad.
I will be honest I want thank you for your hard work on the content but I really really want to thank you for asking us to have a blessed day I can't thank you enough I would gladly subscribed to your channel keep up the great work for the Lord also
Solid video. Spot on with all the facts. As a Clemson fan, I thought he should have started but had no idea of his behavior as they hid that stuff from the public. For me, I was glad to see him leave Clemson, but happy for him to play at Ole Miss (even though that program was despicable under Freeze). His porn star crap was just stupid IMO.
I have to go to a lot of hospitals for work and last year I had to go to the hospital in Oxford pretty late one night and I pulled in behind this Mercedes AMG with Colorado tags on my way into the parking lot. When I got out I noticed it was Chad Kelly. Was a few days after he was released from the Broncos. He had some girl with him and she was the one needing to go to the emergency room. Not sure what happened but she didn’t look very happy.
It all starts with parenting early on. It sounds.like his father had his own issues. He had no one to direct him in his early years. He didn't respect or take advantae of the coaches He was on self destruct and an alcoholic. Alcohol seems to be present in most of these bad decisions. This is sad and just crushing to the ones that wanted him to be great. I hope he seeks help for his drinking and his behavior. Loved your video. Nice presentation.
His last day at Clemson was the spring game..He was competing for the starting job and like you say he had all the talent in the world..Well the coaches purposely put him on the weak offense..Kind of stacked the deck against him so to speak..They did it on purpose not to just see him fail but wanted to see how he'd handle the adversity...Well you can guess the offense struggled and he struggled..He failed the test cause he exploded like a bomb..Went off on the coaches multiple times and finally literally had to be escorted out of the football facility..Smh
Great video, but I gotta disagree with the '20-30 Bradys/Jordans' point. I'm sure there have been alot of players that could have been great (Justin Blackmon, JaMarcus Russell, Len Bias may he rest in peace), but I don't know about better than Brady or Jordan. Guys that have that level of ability but don't work hard end up being the Ben Simmons of the world - playing at the highest level of the sport but not at the highest level within the sport.
thanks for the awesome video. you can't keep a good man down. Chad is a very talented QB. not going to judge him and i'm glad my early life wasn't public. Chad helped Toronto Argos win the Grey Cup in 2022 and is the top QB in the CFL right now 11-1 start for the Toronto Argos best team start in 150 year history. 3rd of the season left and the games don't mean anything because the Argos just clinch East division playoff spot at home, one win away from the Grey Cup Game again. Argo fans love Chad Kelly and hope we don't lose him to the NFL. Go Argos!
Jim Kelly was a stand-up guy who probably was embarrassed by him. John Elway did Jim Kelly a favor by giving him a chance. Idiot managed to throw that away as he would have been the Broncos starter when they still had some talent left from the 2015 Super Bowl
Very interesting. I had forgotten about him. And you said something very true that many may not understand or believe. We all have seen athletes at one time in our lives that we believe are better than the current or past "GREATS". One of the best examples is Len Bias. I truly believe if he hadn't overdose the rivalry between Celtics and the Lakers in the late 80's may have turned out different (Bias drafted 86). And instead talking about Jordan and the Bulls of the 90's. We may be talking about Bias and the Celtics in the 90's. Similar to the way people speak of Magic and Bird of the 80's. At the very minimum we would probably be talking about the epic battles between the two, like the battles Jordan and the Bulls had with the Knicks during the 90's.
Thousands of very good high school students can't adapt to adult life, maybe because they are not held accountable for their behavior in their youth!!! 2021
You should do a video on Lawrence Phillips. He was the next great running back. If he would have stayed out of trouble he is more than likely in Canton by now.
I saw Lawrence Phillips play in HS. He was faster than anybody else. The whole community loved him which was predominantly Latino. College ruined him. That girl who cheated on him triggered the devil in Lawrence Phillips. It was all downhill from there.
This sounds like he doesn’t know how to control his drinking, I can bet all these incidences has alcohol involved. His family should’ve stop trying to hide everything and really get him help
It’s so crazy how some people are so gifted with talent and opportunity but just can’t capitalize due to lack of integrity. I was very fortunate to have had a high school coach who really pushed integrity and making men out of boys rather than wins and losses. Tom Oswald Cheney WA, RIP.
I am looking forward to Chad starting this season for the Toronto Argonauts. Last season he seemed to be a good teammate and respectful of the Canadian game.
I also always question if there is an alcohol issue - behavior extremes , crazy self centered but clueless to own behavior. That insane level of narcissistic behavior and trouble always follows - goin to the club.
Heard Randall Cunningham mentioned today, and wondered what he’s up to these days. Liked him with the Eagles- If I remember correctly, he was also a hell of a punter.
Something to keep in mind: When he was being recruited by Clemson that program was on the very beginning of their rise to dominance. They were still good dont get me wrong, Taj Boyd, Sammy Watkins . . But they weren't the Clemson we know today. ( Well besides being a dumpster fire in 2021, lol)
I was thinking the same. At that point the ACC was all about Jameis and FSU. Also, back then "clemsoning" was still a thing. Clemson was okay, but was in no way a powerhouse yet.
Chad had a pretty good pre season in Denver. Many thought he was going to eventually start ,and then came the party night. The next Monday he was released.
Great video! Gotta disagree with you about the brawl though! My guess is Chad wasn't the only family at the game but he's the only one throwing blows at minors!
“He led them to a 10-3 record. For that program, that’s good” idk if this is an insult to us or your just saying that because we play good teams who tend to be top 25 material
Im from Mississippi and as sad as Kellys story is even sadder was Marcus Dupree. I remember back then thinking that he would be the greatest NFL running back ever to play but he was way too spoiled coming out of high school. Carl Blue from Vicksburg was another great running back that made me sad, God rest his soul.
Without watching the video, I'm guessing that he tried to buy eyeglasses, but the optometrist couldn't make glasses to fit his face, so he beat the optometrist to death.
You think there are 30 guys who were better at basketball than Michael Jordan that just didn't work hard enough? Great video, great channel. Appreciate your work but you don't know a God damn thing about basketball if you actually believe that.
I don't watch any football and i watch these vids. Matts a beast. Matt, if anybody can its you, please make a vid on Renardo Sidney, dude has disappeared
He doesn't sound like he was very smart and i really mean that. I don't think he was a smart person not being sarcastic at all. It sounds like he was babied his entire life because of his athletic ability but probably had the education and mentality of an elementary kid. Mix that with alcohol and you have some real problems.
Him and Johnny aren’t as good as your pretending they are. Having talent and success in HS and college is far from being a good pro. Yes Jonny was often in trouble, but he clearly lacked skill to play in the league. Same with Chad.
If they were as good as they were why they have scholarships to top schools in the country??? To get a scholarship at clemson isn’t for the average Joe.
Having a famous parent or uncle usually leads to a huge ego. They don't try to get out of the shadow,. They think they're untouchable. Just like a kid who's parents have money.
Arch Manning seems to be doing okay with that and went out of his way not to be social media obsessed with his recruitment. There's no guarantee he'll make the NFL but he still handled his recruitment and the hype of being related to Super Bowl MVPs and HOFs without committing felonies and all around making an ass of himself.
That’s sad for real! I can’t imagine going through that especially on the eve of one of the biggest days of ur life! I pray god gives him strength to get through this tough time!
Like, a vacuum tube? An almost obsolete electric device that sounds better in a guitar amplifier than a transistor? That vacuum tube? Or a cylinder that extends the reach of a cleaning vacuum?
Great video! But @12:00 I have to disagree..... Those possible 20 - 30 people are NOT better than Michael Jordan, or any other athlete.... simply because they lack discipline which is a major skill needed in any sport. You take away discipline and all your left with is someone that can make plays for themselves, not the team. The athletes we see and hear about, they have what it takes because they have that extra skill. NOT the trouble makers.
I was at the Clemson spring game, he was mad because they dont go full tackle in the pocket, and basically its a sack on two hand touch. Kelly is mobile and hated it

and now he is an all-star again here in the CFL and has led the Argos to a 14-2 record that could tie the 1989 Edmonton Eskimos who went 16-2 for the greatest regular season in league history with two games to go mind you CFL is 18 games one more than the NFL's 17 and he has a good shot at leading them to back to back titles. Yet he is still 4th in passing yards 3rd in passing touchdowns and 2nd in rushing touchdowns, not number 1 in any category. As a starter, he has a 12-2 record
….and then a character incident after getting a top QB contract.
Can’t make a pig sing even if you put make-up on it!!
And now he's suspended 9+ games lol
Prime example of spoiled child that gets out of everything when young
A new meaning to "My inner Chad's about to come out."
“I don’t understand people on FB talking crap”. “ I got a YT channel. I can talk crap about everybody”
Breaking news, the New Orleans Saints have signed Chad Kelly due to Hill’s injury and Winston’s season ending injury. I wouldn’t be shocked if that happened
Dude I wouldn't even be mad at this point. Who dat
Encourage your kids to be great without using pedestals. And cement respect in their being. Because when steroids and concussions are thrown in the mix, sometimes they can’t even grasp that what they’re doing is wrong
Matt, you are spot on, no good ever comes out of social media
Chad Kelly has had the same problem a lot of kids have they let him get away with so much stuff in high school and junior high they think they walk on water and they just plain don't care he got what was coming to him
Hey Matt love the channel I’m from Canada and Chad Kelly is currently the backup QB to the Toronto Argonauts football club.
My high school was in his division and he started that brawl my junior year I think. It was one of the craziest things.
Good job on this one Matt. He was quite the eff up and jerk.
You ask us where did he go wrong …and what could he have done better…?
EVERYWHERE & EVERYTHING
This is screaming substance abuse.
Ok, I’m starting to enjoy your content it is a interesting point of view on the backstories and the where are they at now. You lost me on the phrase that the Ole Miss vs Alabama game was one of the worst games under Coach Saban. Perceptional of course, but to use perspective maybe a little recency bias the A&M game is a recent example of poor play, Almost every team that has beaten Bama over the years is because their QBs played the games of their entire lives ah la, Chad Kelly, Jarret Stidham, Johnny Football, Stephen Garcia, Cardale Jones, Trevor Knight, freakin Bo Wallace…keep ‘em coming tho these vids are great
@Jon nosir those were just the ones i could think of, you can add Kelley Bryant to that list. Saban is undoubtedly the GOAT
@@benjamincain6922 Kelly Bryant didn’t beat Bama
Your right appreciate the clarification
Great point about there being other better than some of the greatest, i remember in high school there was a guy who in my eyes was unquestionably the most athletic in our whole region. He loved sports but drugs got a hold of him, his potential was endless. Its truly sad.
And to the elders of his tribe, you failed too. Going to the woodshed teaches humility.
I agree
Jim Kelly was wild back in the day. As a Buffalonian I’ve heard plenty of stories.
I will be honest I want thank you for your hard work on the content but I really really want to thank you for asking us to have a blessed day I can't thank you enough I would gladly subscribed to your channel keep up the great work for the Lord also
Brings new meaning to “When you gonna go to church, Chad?”
I got one foot in the streets and every week I flip a ki
I never wanted to be a G where ninjas depend on me.
Very good story. Never heard of the guy but, you made the video captivating. You got my sub.
I just discovered your channel 3 days ago. Glad I found you dude! Love the content
CHAD SHOULD HAVE ATTENDED MIAMI
Would have been right at home.
Yes and then the Oakland Raiders
He just won the Gray Cup. Chad is a champion.
He didn't respect or take advantae of the coaches
He was on self destruct and an alcoholic.
Just proves the maturity of Dabo Swinney in a new role. Be humble, and prove your talents on and off the field!
People who pose for jail photos like they’re senior photos always have issues.
🤣😂😅🤣😂😅
The number of injuries I've seen on shitty old astroturf. Blown knees, careers ended, I bet there were a lot of potential superstars in that list.
Subscribed!
I watched the Johnny football video, & now Chad Kelly!
Good shit matt! Keep it up!
People grow, people change. Go Argonauts!
thanks for the awesome video. you can't keep a good man down.
Go Argos!
Not all Argo fans love Chad. If he had not tKen Argos to great season - he would be out of league due to trainer issue under investigation.
Jim Kelly was a stand-up guy who probably was embarrassed by him. John Elway did Jim Kelly a favor by giving him a chance. Idiot managed to throw that away as he would have been the Broncos starter when they still had some talent left from the 2015 Super Bowl
Can’t just say that bout chad’s life bro you don’t have his life or know shit about him 🤷🏽♂️
Sure jay reed! Prob chad Kelly burner account! 😂 esp with the name jay reed, “you ain’t no cop jay reed!?!?”
Halfway into this video and damn this dude is a menace 😂😂
Coming from a guy from Mississippi that kelly dude had a couple screws loose when he play at ole miss he was the life of the party tho 😂
This entire story is the definition of "I can save him!"
More like, "I'm the one who can make him act different."
The vacuum tube part 😂😂🤣
Really no ideal how he got away with all of those charges?? 😂😂😂 Yeah ok we don't know
I also always question if there is an alcohol issue - behavior extremes , crazy self centered but clueless to own behavior. That insane level of narcissistic behavior and trouble always follows - goin to the club.
Well he is Irish.
As a Bronco fan it totally frustrated me because at the time he was the most talented QB in Denver but he screwed it up
Tebow?
When he got some playing time with Indy during preseason, his completion percentage was off the charts, around 75 percent
@@williejenningsbryan lol Tebow was a good athlete but not an NFL caliber QB
just subscribed!!! Never knew a Chad Kelly just Jim Kelly. Well explanation of the main topic.
You can see the crazy in his eyes
Heard Randall Cunningham mentioned today, and wondered what he’s up to these days.
Liked him with the Eagles-
If I remember correctly, he was also a hell of a punter.
Cj Spiller?
@@iphone4s438 Wasn't CJ a little before them? Like 08/09
I was thinking the same.
He would have started but he blew it
Great video! Gotta disagree with you about the brawl though! My guess is Chad wasn't the only family at the game but he's the only one throwing blows at minors!
Exactly.
Keep up the football videos man! Great stuff!
“He led them to a 10-3 record. For that program, that’s good” idk if this is an insult to us or your just saying that because we play good teams who tend to be top 25 material
Aggressive
Ole Miss has never been a powerhouse, they are an average program. Always have been.
I wish him all the best. He will regret what he did at some point.
Nope. It will always be someone else’s fault.
Without watching the video, I'm guessing that he tried to buy eyeglasses, but the optometrist couldn't make glasses to fit his face, so he beat the optometrist to death.
Glad to see him turn his life around and get back on track
Sad. He could've been great if his family hadn't coddled him and got him the help he needed for his anger earlier.
There’s multiple videos on him
Soooo being the nephew of Jim Kelly didn't hurt? (for getting all those chances).
He let Millions of Dollars go down the drain .
He doesn't sound like he was very smart and i really mean that. I don't think he was a smart person not being sarcastic at all. It sounds like he was babied his entire life because of his athletic ability but probably had the education and mentality of an elementary kid. Mix that with alcohol and you have some real problems.
Glad ya said something bout his short Red Lion days !
Him and Johnny aren’t as good as your pretending they are. Having talent and success in HS and college is far from being a good pro. Yes Jonny was often in trouble, but he clearly lacked skill to play in the league. Same with Chad.
They both had the physical skills to be competitive. They just didn't have the mentality.
Can you cover Kris Wilkes the UCLA player that got paralyzed on draft day.
Wow I just looked up the name and read the NYT article, crazy story
He had to have had tremendous potential to have that many opportunities. Your right Matt , this is a sad story.
I was at the Clemson spring game, he was mad because they dont go full tackle in the pocket, and basically its a sack on two hand touch. Kelly is mobile and hated it
