    When I was just out of college I missed out on becoming a CPA due to a silly error on my part. I gave up on it for many years. Then I decided to face up to the additional education requirements they added and go for it. It took me 4 years to finish my MBA but I finally became a CPA at age 43. Don’t let past mistakes or failures color your future decisions. Also, don’t worry about how long something will take to finish, just start taking the steps. The time is going to pass regardless. Make good use of it. Good luck everyone and stay positive.

    I knew nothing about this dude, don’t really follow high school recruits, but damn I got the utmost respect for his mentality and awareness, to own the fact he failed in his football career, accept it and move on knowing he still has a lifetime to succeed everywhere else, is beyond admirable, glad he’s getting into broadcasting because I’m sure he doesn’t regret not succeeding as a player, I know as an athlete you always miss the game when your out of school and you just don’t get a chance to even play recreationally let alone competitively, this is the type of guy people need to listen to when they need a little motivation

    In a highly ranked D1 college football program, the competition is fierce - you have to be patient and work on your game.
    The Best QB of all time, Tom Brady, didn't start at U Michigan until his redshirt Junior year - by that time, he was prepared to play at that level.
    Max Brown should have been aiming to be a starter by his 3rd or 4th year.
    Before that, it's all a Learning Process.

    • @craighenry2351
      @craighenry2351 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Tom Brady did very little at Michigan, actually. He did just enough to get drafted. But, he made the most of his opportunity, when Drew Bledsoe got hurt. However, let’s play that what if game that Max talked about. What if they didn’t overturn that fumble call in the playoff game against the Raiders, early in his career? New England loses and does not win the Super Bowl. Does Belichick stay with Bledsoe as starter? Remember, Tom was only playing because Drew was hurt. It’s interesting to ponder, but, it didn’t happen, so it doesn’t matter, but it is fun to think about.

    • @craighenry2351
      @craighenry2351 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      And you are wrong about Brady being some obvious draft stud. I am an Ohio State fan and can tell you first hand, he wasn’t anything spectacular in college, EVER. But the Patriots looked beyond that to their credit and to Tom’s credit, when he got out of Michigan’s Neanderthal offense, he was able to show what he could do, when he got the chance.

    • @carljacobson7156
      @carljacobson7156 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@craighenry2351 Where the heck did I term Tom Brady an 'NFL Draft Stud'?!
      My point is that Tom Brady WAITED and worked on his skills, and became a starter by his red-shirt Junior year. PATIENCE!!
      He was drafted at the BOTTOM of the NFL Draft - and then had a backup year to Drew Bledsoe, where he studied the Patriots Offensive System. When Brady got the chance, he was able to perform.'
      Max Browne seems like a good guy - but, perhaps, had too much pressure on him too soon to be a Superstar.
      Maybe it came too easy for him in high school
      Had Max Browne stayed at USC, accepted the backup and 3rd string roles for a couple of years, as a time to work on his skills and athletic abilities, MAYBE things would have turned out differently.

I gave my last job my blood sweat and tears and basically got fired because my 20 year old boss needed a guy to demonize and I've let it ruin my confidence when I know deep down I gave it everything I had everyday never cut corners always told the truth no matter how it affected me, I helped anyone that needed me even if it put me in a bad place, I was a recovering addict I felt like I owed it to the people around me to be better and when I lost my job after giving it my all like that it ruined my confidence my self worth my self esteem when I should've held my head high and just accepted the reality and went right back at it! Instead I fell apart and here I am barely getting my feet on the ground again but loving my job! I should be thankful!

    This is a great video about a great individual who did not let sour grapes get him down. As he stated, move forward, not move on. Many of us have had failures in life and in jobs. I’ve been fired 4 times and realized the profession I was in was not for me. I moved forward, got in to a totally different line of work after having to go back to school and get retrained. I made a lot less money but was much happier in the profession I have worked in the last 21 years. Life is what you make it and not what others might think about you. Living in the south, I follow the SEC religiously and maybe because of this I don’t even remember hearing about Max Browne. Thanks again for your video and I hope Max sees it as it is a compliment to him. I’m sure we’ll see him on TV in the broadcast booth soon.

    Max Browne was absolutely THE MAN locally in High School... Skyline HS where he went has always been a nationally ranked school, and constantly wins the State Championship,... Well theres basically 3 schools in WA that usually win it ,... Tumwater HS, Skyline, and Bellevue. I've watched alot of these 3 schools play over the course of my life, and I have to say Max Browne was one of the most polished player in state history.. Him, Jake Locker, Kellen Moore, Jake Heaps, and Marquis Tuiasosopo are considered Football Royalty in the state of Washington.. The sad part is that Max Browne is the only one who never sniffed the NFL... but I'd say he was probably the one who had the highest potential ... Unfortunately , he never really got a fair shot to play at the next level... I mean he didnt get the opportunity to even play until his JR season, and of course his first game is against BAMA who was at the time in a completely different league compared to USC ... Whats stupid is Lane Kiffen had Cody Kessler, and that Wittick guy as the QB competition, and after they lost to BYU (I believe ?? ) They benched those two , and instead of giving Max a try, They used a RUNNING BACK at QB .. Alot of people forget that,... Lane Kiffen was more comfortable Starting Tre Madden at QB instead of rolling with the Blue-Chip #1 Pro Style QB of his "prized recruiting class" ... I could only imagine, that must've been incredibly frustrating for Max , and Probably killed his confidence,.. I believe i remember seeing a quote from Kiffen at the time where he said that Max Browne was their scout team QB , and needed to "add on weight" still, and "get up to speed " and I truly feel like if he was given the chance to play his Freshman season, then the narrative might've been different,.. He seems to be a resilient, bright individual and I believe that he would've gained so much more by playing early on then what he could've gained via redshirting.. Idk, I wish Kiffen wasn't suck a bum ... But who am i but a random kid from seattle lol i guess max should've gone to UW like everybody expected him to :D

      All facts man at the next level it’s just as much about coaching and scheme as it is talent their are hundreds of prized high school guys who didn’t make it not because they weren’t necessarily good enough but because they may have chose a program with a scheme that doesn’t fit what they do or they coach simply didn’t know how to use the player I can say from personal experience nothing can kill a kid’s confidence quicker than a coach who doesn’t believe in him and won’t give him a chance and let me say it doesn’t matter how talented you are if that confidence is gone your never gonna play at your best

    The biggest issues I see with these recruits is they are picking schools with crowded quarterback rooms why not go to a school where u have guranteed starting job and they praise you.

      The same drive inside of them that made them a top recruit makes them HAVE to go to a top school. They can't turn that off and settle.

    Great kid. If he would have gone to another college instead of USC that develops QBs, he might have been drafted to the NFL.
    USC was horrible at developing its football athletes for the next level. Bad head coach bad hiring assistant coaches.

    Great documentary this is inspiring a good lesson. Real life is "this type of story" you will get knocked down and fail many times it's how you respond that shows character. Special needs disabled kids are major champions they don't get 1 percent of the focus from society yet they overcome challenges much more difficult. People need to wake up and get perspective.

That being said it’s easy to tell that he has so many regrets. 19:50 he listed so many specific things that are clearly on his mind. Just glad he can take his expertise and turn it into a positive. Like his film talk on him channel too

    This guy definitely seems like a great person with a really good head on his shoulders. You can't live in the past, but let the past make you stronger and better as a person. I was number in Florida in batting average, RBIs, my senior year, went to college hurt my arm. That was it, but it never left me in a depressing state. I missed it but I have a son now that's 8 on the all-star team that I coach and it's awesome to give my knowledge to these little guys, and watch them succeed doing what you taught them. Playing in the major leagues would not give me the satisfaction that I get from these kids success. Good luck to you Max and every athlete out there that didn't make it to the big show.

    Max genuinely seems like a great guy to have a friend as a man who has also played college QB and never reached the heights of my potential I can tell you the pit of despair a athlete falls to when they stop playing
    The one thing you did your whole life is now done .. it’s over and who are you now without the sport of football ? It’s a road for sure but when football all stops being fun and your not getting anything out of it it feels like a twilight zone to be in that’s the beauty of life you can be great at many things and walk many paths and the lows that come teach you so much about yourself and help you learn
    I’m at the same point now I don’t miss it at all and now I’m going into the tech field and working to be great at that too some day

    He came to college right as I was beginning to check out of college football. He was one of the last big recruits I remember reading about. He’s had a hell of a story. Of course it’s fans that were more upset about him flaming out than the actual player. The research for your videos are next level. Would you look into Chris Weinke and Willie Williams? If you haven’t already.

    This is a very good video, and this guy is a very good motivation speaker, just look at what happen to him ,and he could've just folded up and started drinking and all the other stuff people do, when things don't go they're way. It's always people shaming others because they are failures in life. Ok, football didn't work out, but damn look at what he's accomplished, and shit broadcasting some of them men and women make millions of dollars. Man, big ups to this young man.

    Great story, I remember this guy. A true winner at life. He exemplifies emotional intelligence.
    Sometimes the breaks don’t go your way, even your life’s dream.
    Admitting truth of your failures is very empowering … because today is a day you can win. Every day is.
    I have similar experiences in the business world. I went to the bug name engineering school, worked my but off, worked obsessively even until a major accident and spine injury changed my life permanently at 39, in the prime of my career and with a new company that was very successful. I had to walk away from it as I could no longer travel as required in the biz I was in. I was devastated, went through several years of depression, divorce,etc.
    It took me 4 years to reacquire my bearings, and grow to the person I am today. And while I may not be CEO of a major company … yet, it is all still possible if I want it (which I no longer do btw).
    Yet I digress.
    This story and others like it shine light on what’s important… to be positive, be true with yourself about yourself, and be happy … because happiness is a choice.

      Well he threw for 4000 yards and 50 tds his sophomore year at one of the best schools in the country. He wasn't a 5 star recruit for nothing. Sometimes they don't develop further. Maybe he needed a different system or different qb coach.
