I would have watched it even if it was 3 hours. Great show and I always had respect for Tomlin, even though he stepped out on the field in Jacoby's path (Ravens fan). But the respect n how he coaches and what you hear from the players he coached/coaches shows he is a great man.

Mike is 143-92-2. led the team to ten playoff runs, seven division titles, three AFC Championship Games, two Super Bowl appearances, and a title in Super Bowl XLIII. Some of his quotes have wonderful application to not just coaching, but teaching, parenting, managing people, etc. Solid life advice in general. "Seeking comfort" instead of working on your teaching/approach, "don't run from [it], run TO it," there's no cookie-cutter approach for a developmental timeline, but everybody knows when you're out of time!

Pittsburgh has only had THREE head football coaches in the past FIFTY-THREE years (which covers just about the ENTIRE Super Bowl era) .... CHUCK NOLL (1969-1991), BILL COWHER (1991-2007), and MIKE TOMLIN (2007-onward). NONE of them were head coaches anywhere else EXCEPT in Pittsburgh. that says a lot about how the franchise PICKS their head coaches ... and how they enable these men to be great.

Every time I catch an interview with Coach Tomlin that I am reminded he was our 34 year-old DC when Pittsburgh asked to interview him to replace Cowher. I was aware at the time both Noll and Cowher were 34 when the Steelers named them HC...and yet, our front office couldn't make the connection. He set our Dline up for a strong run, and he's consistently had the Steelers in contention - no matter how banged up or how far down the depth chart they are. I wish we had a coach that just chilled out in his basement with a couple Lombardis casually on display.

It's a combination of being used to having consistent success (through winning seasons), yet falling short in the era of Belichick, Brady, and Peyton. REAL Steelers fans will, like the organization, stand by him. He just signed a new contract and you know that even if he goes 1-15 this year, the first without Ben, the organization is standing by him. The Rooneys don't fire. I'm too young to remember the decade-plus of no Superbowls under Noll, but I remember the lean years with Cowher. I remember the frustrations after the championship game losses, and the gnashing of teeth over "wasting" great teams. But Cowher never had a QB until Ben. If he had a QB, Cowher would've won 3 Superbowls. I still believe that. Tomlin has been GREAT at making mediocre teams great over a period of time with Ben. I think that if he had won that 2nd Superbowl, the squawking would be less. But....now he has to emulate what Cowher did: keep the team competitive without a QB. I think he can do it, but it might be a rough few years until he finds the right formula...but he can definitely do it.

I'm 55 and a huge football fan in general. I only wish Hawaii had a pro team too. Currently am a Dolphins fan but am a lifelong Steelers fan. Have been as a kid since their steel curtain days. This dynasty defines football greatness with 2 HOF coaches and we all know Coach T will make it 3 in a row once that time comes; which I'm hoping won't be anytime soon.
You all need to watch Coach's recent interview on Big Ben's podcast as well with #7 and Spence. It's amazing just like this one. It's what actually brought me here as others commenting on that podcast also recommended watching this interview on Pivot.
This is the first time a podcast kept me smiling and crying at the same time. Coach Mike is as real as can be. Talk about a Masterclass in leadership, positivity, faith, friendship, loyalty and to keep moving forward. He is the epitome of the definition of Pivot. You guys should win awards just for this podcast alone. No wonder he's a player's Coach. A Man's Man. He'll support them not just on the field, but off the field as well. Even after his players retire or are no longer playing for him, he's just a text or phone call away. It speaks volumes for him to even take time to come on Ryan's and Ben's podcasts to not only reflect on football, their friendships but to also support their podcasts as both podcasts have hit a large amount of views and just reading the comments on both solidifies why I never stopped believing in Coach T; others who always said he needs to retire or get fired are now realizing how blessed the Steelers are to not only have him as a Coach, but also for his leadership, his heart of gold and his brilliant insights on life. For me, a Coach shouldn't only be about X's and O's. A Coach should also be a support system for them. It's beautiful watching his genuine smile and eyes light up whenever he speaks about a player. He always sees the positive in them; despite their downfalls as he did about AB. It's so heartwarming to see his interactions with his players. There's a TH-cam short with him and Kenny P after a tough loss and Coach told him... Head high. There'll be greater days. Awesome!
I love his charitable work, his mentorship with our youth, how he fights against child trafficking, supporting single parent youth who've had no father figures. I could go on and on. His wife and family are amazing as well.
I've always admired Coach Tomlin and his elevated knowledge of football, how passionate he is about football and how much each player means to him in their own individual ways (past and present).
I have 2 amazing sons. One's 29 and my baby is 11. I proudly raised them as a single mom. Trust me, it wasn't easy but the joys outweigh the hardships. They are my life and saving grace. What I would do to just have both of them spend even an hour with Coach T and his wisdom, kindness and outlook on life... that would make this Momma the happiest woman alive! Can you make this happen Pivot? Please? 😊🙏💗
Keep doing great things Ryan, Fred and Channing. You guys are the REAL DEALIO! Looking forward to more enlightening and powerful interviews and shows! A new sub for life!!! ❤❤🙏🙏

As a Cincinnati Bengals fan, I've always respected and admired Mike Tomlin. The man's self awareness and ability to connect with his players is rare.

As much acknowledgement as he gets as a coach, he's still incredibly underrated as a man and a leader of men. He could lead any corporation in the world if he were involved in it. Nobody is daydreaming when Mike Tomlin is speaking.

Hands down, this is one of the best sports interviews I’ve ever seen. Ryan, Fred and Channing did a phenomenal job of asking insightful questions that allowed Coach Tomlin to share some amazing stories. When you consider all the great veterans on the 2009 Super Bowl team (e.g. Debo, Troy, etc.) and then hear Coach T say he went to Lamar Woodley to turn the tide in the quarter in SB XLIII, his ability to bring out the best in his players puts him the rarefied air of great coaches/leaders.

15:28 hit me deep. As a former player, I completely agree with that. Especially if your playing career was not what you envisioned. Living vicariously through your players.

He's a king among warriors, showing them the way by harnessing their strengths! How do you not want to fight for a man like Coach T! I'd throw pads on and run through a damn wall if he said so! He makes me proud to be a Steeler fan!
