I'm so confused on the drilling part. If you are drilling holes for propane setup so they match the hole size that was already there in the first place, then what's the purpose exactly? Why is this step even necessary? What am I missing here?
Hello! Great video. Just didn't see much detail on drilling the orifices and was very curious about that part and why it has to be done. May you please explain that part. 🙏🏼
Your humble subscriber,
Mike
I used a 1/32” drill bit and have nice blue flames.
Not too bad of a grill conversation.....lol. I would do a spell check my friend. Even so, thumbs up.
thank you… fixed.
Good video. Once the orifices and the built in regulator on the grill is flipped. How do you connect the grill to the propane tank? Do you need to change to a propane hose (with another regulator attached, prior to the propane tank or do you just use a hose without an additional regulator and attach it to the tank?
Hi if you can help I need to know what size is the whole on the original NG orifice thanks 🙏
I love you. I bought a Webber and had it all together before I realized it was NG natural gas. It has sat at my house for a year.
Great... I’m glad the video helped
May what type of Weber do you have? I want to buy one that's natural gas and convert it!
Did you convert it? And how did it go??
Is your barbeque up and running?
I need a video for NG to LP conversion fo a 2 burner char broil tru infrared commercial grill and proper orfices
if you can’t find predrilled orifice you can drill the undrilled version
It did not show any drill bits being used are just for looks? Nice view
thx
Video doesn't explain why the orifices are drilled out. What happens if you don't? Is the propane supply insufficient?
if you purchase predrilled orifices then there is no need to drill. but if you can’t find predrilled I included the drill bit info to help you along.
Thank you so much for your excellent video. If I change the direction con the valve in the included gas regulator, is it ok to use a hose to connect to a LP tank, that already has a regulator built in? Or should I remove the original regulator that's built into the grill? Thank you for your great video
Yes, you can connect directly to a lp tank with a regulator
WTYuck? So he would have 2 regulators or he need sto remove the one that u showed
Hi, when drilling does it have to be exact bit, if it becomes a little bigger than the natural gas opening is that still okay? Or if it's in between the size of the original propane orifice and the natural gas orifice is that okay? Also where do you get the orifice? thank you
Wondering about the #62 drill bits. Understand the need to drill out the orifice. Did you choose the #62 bit based upon the BTU's of your grill. My Bull Outlaw is 60,000 total BTU's (4 burners X 15,000 BTU's each). I found a chart that indicated for a 10,000 BTU burner the #62 bit was needed, but for a 14,000/16,000 BTU burner a #57/56 bit would be appropriate. Thanks in advance.
I didn’t do a BTU vs bit size comparison. I just did a trial and error with #62 giving a nice blue flame. go ahead and try the #57/56 bit and see if u get a blue flame.
What are the bits for?
Curious, did you try either the #57 or #56 drill bits? I have the same grill and came to the same conclusion as you based on the chart I saw online. I am about to attempt the conversion myself over paying $250 for the Bull kit.
#56 is rated for 15,104 BTUs and #57 for 12,916 BTUs.
By reading online and watching videos I understood you are supposed to go with the lower number, but I am tempted to try #56 since it's only slightly above 15,000 BTUs
Any input would be appreciated
Thank you!
Hi I have the Members Mark 4 burner outdoor Griddle and am having problems locating an orifice to convert it from propane to natural gas . I’m not seeing the name of the company you bought your from in the description
you can locate orifice here:

I have a Broil King Baron 320 3 burner, looking to change it from natural gas to propane. I can't find the new smaller orifice online anywhere. How critical is the hole size. Mine measures 1.45mm. Way too big for propane?
you can find un-drilled orifice online and drill yourself. the size of the hole is critical.
@@Yucksauce hi. what should be the hole size? and is the thread standard size for all propane orifice?
Why do you need to drill out the orifice?
if u buy blank orifices you will need to drill out...
Question? What happen if you don’t change it??
you won’t get a blue flame because the gas air mix won’t be right
If I plan to drill the orifices, then I should buy blank orifices? What about the thread? I need to convert a Thermador cooktop from natural gas to LP. Thanks.
Yes, you can but blanks if ur drilling... the thread is standard.
@@Yucksauce Thanks for replying. Someone on ebay sells a huge variety of different orifices. For the ones he carries, he said the thread is M6 and the hex head size is 7mm. He said that if I sent him one of the natural gas orifices, he would calculate the proper equivalent size for LP. Does that make sense?
@@carloschean1308 who is the eBay seller?
@@Yucksauce when you say the thread is standard, I have seen all different kinds of threads and sizes. I cant find orifices for my jenn air 720-0727.
Hi, nice video. Did you have to adjust gas/air ratio? Where is that regulator? Also, there is no more link to the orifices. Thanks
You can google undrilled propane orifice and find several suppliers. You don’t have to adjust the gas ‘air ratio. At least I didn’t have too.
But you are looking for a blue flame
Thanks. I ordered according to specs of make and model hopefully it fits perfectly and don't have to mess with anything else :)
I'm curious. If the gas orifices are bigger hole, then why or what did you drill out?
i didn't have to drill out because the orifices i purchased where the correct size
Yeah im totally lost on that as well. I could of seen drilling out propane orifice to size of natural gas orifice, but he was converting the oppisite way. He should edit the whole drill bit part out.
You could HAVE seen.
Absolutely Fine 4 sure
glad
WTYuck do you have the propane orifices for a Weber Spirit E-310? If not, where can I get my hands on them?
the link is in the description to where I obtained them.
You can also google suppliers of the orifice.
@@Yucksauce thanks but I was unsuccessful in finding them. One vendor explained there are 3 variations for these E-310 grills.
What did you drill out? What were the drill bits for?
Drilled out the hole in the orifice. If you buy from the link in description there is no need to drill.
Thanks!
What link can you send me the link please
Thanks alot, this saves me $200. Question is can i just remove np regulator and change to propane regulator ?
you don’t have to replace the regulator. you can just open it and take out the blue plastic regulator tip and turn it around backwards and reinsert it.
You Make Me Smile
thx 4 watching
Ooowee.... very Pleasant💎 video
glad you liked it
Have a great Morning😉
you too
What happens if I use an NG regulator on a propane system or vice versa?
you have to change the regulator to a propane regulator... the grill has a built in regulator under the bottom. you have to change the direction of the plastic insert. I may make a new video showing that.
@@Yucksauce Yea I'm aware. Just want to physically see with my own eyes what happens.
Question I have a napoleon prestige 500 grill , it's a natural gas grill.
I can find a conversion kit for propane.
Is there anyone that know where can get one.
Help.
you can order the from the link in the description
Hi can you please let me know where you bought the orifice part from.
The link is in the description.
Where? Don't see it.
What did you use to convert the hose to fit/connect to a propane tank?
nothing. used same hose
Why do you have to drill out the orfice? Propane office is suppose to be smaller right? I got a conversion kit from Bull, and they said I could just take the orfice off the values they sent me and put them on the values on the grill. Didn’t mention drilling them out. Just curious.
Thanks
A #62 drill bit makes the orifice opening the correct size for blue flame propane. You may not need to drill if you adjust air intake flow on the burner but to be safe, I drilled. Hope it works for you.
How did yours work without drilling? Any issues?
nice🔥🔥 It's engaging!
thx
Thank you! I have a side burner on a BBQ island. I assume that I need to do the same for that orifice and replace the valve?
Yes you do
@@Yucksauce Thank you for the quick reply!!
Finally completed the conversion! Worked like a charm! Question: What about your rotisserie back burner? How did you convert that one for LP?
I am glad it worked out for you. The rotisserie burner will need replaced check only for the LP version I don't think they make drillable blanks but i found my replacement only.
2.99 is way too much to spend. Just take a toothpick and some high temp epoxy putty. Put tooth pick into the OFFICE, then stuff hole with putty. Let dry, pull out toothpick!!! As far as the regulator in concerned, I just kink my gas line like a water hose and hold down with rubber band!
good idea. I might try.
Ok so how much is the high temp putty, toothpicks, and rubberbands you are using? I am sure 2.99 is a great deal. you sir are a troll.
Ooowee.... very pleasant💎
