Dan - many thanks for this video. It took me a few tries to get the orifice size correct but finally got there. As a complete novice, I couldn't have converted my Weber without this video

Thanks for including the wrench sizes and part numbers. It saved me a lot of time. And your emojis were in the right spots too. It took me about 45 minutes from start to finish to convert to propane. Thanks again.
Great vid, thanks for doing. Just converted a new Genesis e-325s to LP with your assistance. Found that the newer grill has less covers to remove so I didn't have to pull off the manifold. Plenty of room to unscrew the orfiices and install new ones. Thanks again.

Great video! Just picked up Napoleon ng, needs conversion. You’re right manufacturers want no part of conversion. I’ve converted patio heater and fire pit from propane to ng during Covid. In both cases I found a corresponding btu orifice size chart, bought cheapest orifices on Amazon and drilled them out to proper size. Intentionally saved originals to be able to revert back. Only a couple of other comments: no need for pipe dope on any of the fittings. In fact most grill manuals tell you no pipe dope or Teflon. The seal on flare fittings is not related to the threads and the pressure at the orifices is minimal and snug with wrench is more than adequate. While you appeared to apply minimal dope, for rookies they have a good chance of clogging fittings with residual. Not a criticism, just a comment. Great job, thanks!
Thank you for the video, and the screenshots of the hose and the correct orifices. I did the same thing, ordered orifices that are too small. Have the right ones coming in a couple days! Thanks again!

Awesome video… I picked up that exact grill next to a dumpster behind my Ace Hardware this morning. Just need to convert it to LP and buy some new flavorizer bars and I’ll be good to go.
First off, THANK YOU! I ordered the orifices and they worked/fit perfectly. So far so good. Only issue I had with process was one of the orifices broke tightening it in and replacing [5/16 worked but needed 7mm to remove existing Weber Natural Gas orifices]. Scared the heck out of me!! But I was able to get it out using a small flat head and replaced it with another one. Also, the process seemed a lot easier with Genesis Spirit II. I was able to access the orifices underneath the regulators. I thought it was too good to be true but it was very easy access. Just had to remove the flame/burners. Long story short, I bought this grill at yard sale and had absolutely no idea they even made natural gas grills and thought it was a total loss. I did some research and found this video and will start cooking and using it in the upcoming weeks to make sure all is good. Replaced hose with Blackstone propane hose from Walmart and looks great. I just want to find something to hang the propane tank from the grill itself now and I'll really be good! Not sure if Natural gas prices are high everywhere but in CA, the prices have almost tripled and would be a great idea for those with the same or similar grill.
Very helpful. I was also able to access the orifices on my Genesis Spirit II from underneath the controls. Only difference was it required two 3/4" wrenches to disconnect/reconnect and swap out the gas line. Thanks very much.
@@tjodom8897 Was 11 months ago, so I don't recall exactly. That being said, I had no problems and the conversion went without a hitch. Great Video and many thanks! I owe you a beer if you're ever down in austin. Just out of curiosity, I have the same grill and did this conversion, how long does it take yours to get to 650 700 degrees?
Hi Dan, I came across your video hoping to find an answer to my problem. Your video was helpful for replacing the orfice, which was great. I was able to do the conversion myself with ease, however I notice a problem right away with the flame. It is small flame that cannot be controlled with the NG gas manifold. No matter if the valve is wide open or set to a minimum flow, the flame is still the same size. I'm wondering if you or anyone else has experienced this? I am considering buying the OEM propane gas manifold assembly so I can actually control the heat on each burner. I'd like to know other people had to by the propane gas manifold for this conversion?
I just had the same issue. Great instructions, but flame is not adjusting when I turn the knobs. I may have to buy LP manifold. Did you? If so, did it work? I’m working with Weber Spirit 310.
Great help Dan, worked out great for my conversion. I feel the propane tank is very hot when the bbq on ( heat from the bbq being on / close to the tray ) is that normal ?
Orifice sizes vary by style and number of burners. My Weber Spirit2 E-310, 3 burner grill uses a 0.9mm or 0.354" dia hole/bore. Not sure of thread...it could be 1/4-28 or 10-32
Great video. Helped immensely. Two comments. On my E435 Genesis, I chose the more difficult of the options you recommended. But what made it easier is to take the burners out of the white ceramic igniters. Another comment is to specify if possible the hose to regulator flare fitting. I damaged mine trying to grip it with channel locks so spent sometime figuring out if I need a Fl to Fl fitting or a FIP one end would work. But over all, excellent video!
Dan, I have changed out the hoses AND tried orifices from .07 to 1.0 and NONE of the flames coming out of the burner tubes was satisfactory. Must I buy a new manifold? I am most frustrated.
Not totally sure ive only done the one and have not had an issue. But i honestly dont believe the manifold is your problem the manifold was working fine when it was natural gas correct

Do you need a regulator for natural gas? I have a propane Napoleon that im trying to convert. The instructions for the gas model says it comes with a 1kpa regulator but can I use it with just changing the orifices you think?
@@BaadMotorFinger keep in mind I’m not a 100% but natural gas should be regulated at the supply to your house and should not require a regulated the reason for the regulator on a propane grill is because it is a small container so it is filled with high pressure so it lasts a while and has to be regulated down to low pressure. Natural gas is a constant low pressure supply to the best of my knowledge but once again not a 100% so I would do some more research good luck

I was told you need a different Flow Valve to have an adjustable flame. Do you have a flame that is not always wide open? Flow valve would require complete valve body replacement?
A different flow valve is not necessary. The flow valve is what controls the volume of propane making it through to the office just like a garden hose hose bib with volume. However, the orifice being a lot smaller than natural gas is what makes the restriction my flame is variable from low to high without a problem.
