Oh, I agree. I had the FX 35 for 20 years and it never let me down and it seemed to perform better as the years went by. Those FX cars is what Infiniti needs to bring back to their lineup.

Infiniti is the literal embodiment of a dead brand walking. Besides the Qx80 they offer nothing compelling that makes them worth it over their Asian peers, let alone the Germans. The once proclaimed “Japanese BMW” that gave us the G35 and Fx now lacks any sports cars and instead offers some of the most uninspiring vehicles on the market. As nice as the qx80 turned out, it won’t be enough to save them. They have a lot of work to do if they want to survive.
So true. I bought a new first gen G35 and loved that car. Then they came out with the FX then the second gen M. They were class leading. Now they’re what Buick is.

As a former Infiniti owner who didn’t want any “new” choices from the brand’s lineup, I’m planning to lease a GV70 soon since Genesis is now the “Infiniti” of the current era. - That QX50/55 was abysmal at its inception and seems like a stop-gap; the recent downgrade of the QX60 to a four-cylinder & their forecasted ~12 month timeline tell me all I need to know - RIP Infiniti (and Nissan).
Well this has been in use since late 2017 i think and there arent any widespread issues where infinkti is replacing engines left and right. Sure a few but nothing crazy not like lexus lol😊

Imagine the new Murano interior in this! That car makes this obsolete. They just have to change that interior and swap out the cvt, which they did on the Murano, and they have a seller here.
I love every bit of the interior, the entire outdated layout, design and materials. Really beautiful lines of the exterior. I don't care about the screen tech, but I do care about the powertrain. And the price, because of the whining engine. Otherwise, the car is such a beauty, very enjoyable.
I actually loved my QX55 but don’t miss the CVT. But will admit I got A LOT of attention, but only bc of the sport back looks. Just please update the interior for the whole line & GET RID OF THE DVT. Went back to Jaguar F-Pace for my daily & wow.
Infiniti has the same problem as Lincoln: They've lost credibility due to unreliability. While Lincoln is trying to regain customers with aesthetic innovations (a slow process), Infiniti is relying on their current customer base - doing very little in design AND marketing to attract new buyers. Both have lost dealerships. I get the impression Infiniti bleeds more than Lincoln. Let's hope they can turn things around.
The throttle of my Qx50 (2018) acts very erratically: initially there's no thrust for ~3mm of pedal depression, then BAM! You get hit with a sudden zolt of power. After that, power is weirdly not progressive for each mm of pedal input, then annoyingly rubber-band-like torque after certain point. I guess this is a CVT thing, but it is not possible to drive this car smoothly like I do with 8spd ZF equipped BMW. Also, at only 37000miles, whenever I let go of the throttle there's a single knock noise that can be heard from both the inside and the outside of the car. Don't buy QX50. The stress of ownership is not worth it. Especially at that price.
I had and loved my '08 FX35 for 5 years and then I got and still have an '13 FX37 Limited which I have had for almost 6 years now. I love it and will most likely be my last car. I kept hoping Infiniti would go back to being great looking and performing cars... hasn't happened yet. Fingers crossed. * long time Nissan (Maxima) 2 gens as well.
I own a 2023 QX50 (I was previously driving g a Q50, yes I do miss having 32 extra hp) but I was planning to upgrade to the QX60 until they changed the engine to the same VC V4. I do like my QX50 but since I’ve seen what they can do with the QX80, I agree, it needs to be updated or redesigned. I do like it but I would be BALKING at the sticker if I saw $61k (not worth it, paying today’s prices for yesterday’s technology).
Infiniti is faux luxury at its worst. I recently drove my friends Nissan Rogue on a trip and nothing about this car seems nicer than the Rogue but is twice the price? LMAO I have to laugh at not only Infiniti for having the nerve to still sell this but even more so at the people who would willingly buy this.
I'll have to disagree, I've had and been in multiple Infinitis and they are very luxurious and sporty and always well-equipped. I've also lived with or experienced BMWs, Lexus, Acura, Cadillac, Audi, Merc, Land Rover/Jag, and Porsche and Infiniti definitely does luxury competently and even better than some. They've always been well-built and outside of this being extremely outdated it's a nice car.

Nissan needs to go back to working on the Toroidal Cvt's and releasing them with modern vehicles. Those are the only CVT's that can compete with conventional Automatic Transmissions.
It.still has the good looks of the. G35 sedan of yesteryear. Unfortunately, Nissan's been struggling to produce a competitive drivetrain and this vehicle doesn't either.
The EX35, which was the predecessor to this QX50, had so much personality because of its sports car roots. This was based off of the Nissan FM platform which was the same as the G35 and the 350Z at the time, and it was a fun car from what people have told me. This on the other hand. It’s so outdated on the inside (exterior still looks fantastic for me), the VC turbo 4 cylinder and CVT is just unacceptable for a luxury car, and I think it’s priced too high for what it offers. Infiniti, idk what you guys are doing with this car but please give it a proper redesign.

This car needs a new interior, and a new transmission. The reason this doesn't sell is because you can get used one for far less and essentially have the same car as a new one. For the price you can get better options whether its front or rear wheel drive based. Im not confident about Infiniti's future.
You're right your opinion doesn't mean much. Digital clusters and touchscreen sizes don't make you a car enthusiasts. Most consumers are tired of most tech features. You need a better angle to review cars. Take an engineering or art class
Come on, Infiniti… That new SUV you guys made is gorgeous inside and out, but the infotainment system on this?Yikes. It’s just not doing it for me, looks outdated and kind of clunky, honestly. I get it, everyone has their taste, but for a $60,000 car, I really feel like the tech and design should match the luxury. I just can’t see myself spending that kind of money on a car where the infotainment system feels like an afterthought. I know some people might like it, and that’s fine, but for me, it’s just not up to par for that price. It’s kind of crazy when you think about it.
Back in the day they had some nice vehicles with good engines. Infiniti of today is a slob with nothing noteworthy to offer. A shame where this brand went.
Very good looking vehicle imo, inside and out. I think it might be targeted at folks who have money but zero understanding or concern with the dated drivetrain and technology. So that's some older folks (therefore the CD player) and even some younger folks, but likely more women than men. It appeals to me aesthetically, but the engineering side of me says "whoa, worst of old and new (VC turbo engine)", RED ALERT, stay the hell away...

I have a QX70S 5.0…last year of the V8. Still runs fantastic despite being able to watch the fuel gauge drop as you drive it…

If you can’t lease/finance this at 0% then there’s no reason to get this.

Car makers use CVT because they are cheaper to make than normal automatics or DCTs, this is a premium car, why use a CVT?

Come on, Infiniti… That new SUV you guys made is gorgeous inside and out, but the infotainment system on this?Yikes. It’s just not doing it for me, looks outdated and kind of clunky, honestly. I get it, everyone has their taste, but for a $60,000 car, I really feel like the tech and design should match the luxury. I just can’t see myself spending that kind of money on a car where the infotainment system feels like an afterthought. I know some people might like it, and that’s fine, but for me, it’s just not up to par for that price. It’s kind of crazy when you think about it.

Back in the day they had some nice vehicles with good engines. Infiniti of today is a slob with nothing noteworthy to offer. A shame where this brand went.
Not true QX60 and QX80 are insanely attractive and both sell very good.
The interior materials are good, but the design, especially the meter, is too old.
Very good looking vehicle imo, inside and out. I think it might be targeted at folks who have money but zero understanding or concern with the dated drivetrain and technology. So that's some older folks (therefore the CD player) and even some younger folks, but likely more women than men. It appeals to me aesthetically, but the engineering side of me says "whoa, worst of old and new (VC turbo engine)", RED ALERT, stay the hell away...
Infiniti had a good thing going but had no follow through. They have failed on so many levels…they really should be marketed as the brand behind Nissan. How did that happen???
what's the point of making an unnecessary variable compression engine that makes the same 260ish hp that any normal 2litre turbo makes.??? gets a below avg mpg and will guarantee not be as reliable????
This vehicle has the same engine & tansmission as the Nissan Rogue and are VERY undependable. BOTH WILL BREAK DOWN not IF but WHEN.
