Next up is the eye-catching, newly available QX50 SPORT grade. It receives a visual boost thanks to a unique front fascia, 20-inch dark-painted and machine-finished wheels and gloss black exterior trim pieces. The QX50 SPORT also adds semi-aniline, leather-appointed seating and a Bose® Premium Audio System with 12 speakers.
The 2023 QX50 adds several new standard convenience features across all grades. Newly standard features include heated outside mirrors, remote engine start, a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror, Rear Door Alert and a wireless phone charging pad. A new 19-inch alloy wheel design is featured on QX50 PURE and LUXE, while QX50 LUXE now includes a motion-activated liftgate as standard and a newly available Bose® Premium Audio System with 12 speakers. The 2023 INFINITI QX50 is available in five grades. PURE, LUXE, SPORT and SENSORY feature standard front-wheel drive and available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, while QX50 AUTOGRAPH has standard AWD. Advanced powertrain
At the heart of the INFINITI QX50 is the world’s first mass-produced variable-compression turbocharged (VC-Turbo) engine. The 2.0-liter engine can seamlessly change its compression ratio to optimize for improved fuel efficiency or greater power output, depending on the driver’s demands. It is rated for an impressive 268 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired with an XTRONIC transmission that benefits from Downshift Rev Matching and standard paddle shifters, helping deliver a more engaging driving experience. On the QX50 AUTOGRAPH, additional powertrain enhancements give the QX50 the ability to tow up to 3,000 pounds, when properly equipped.
As a result of the powertrain’s innovative design, the QX50 also delivers impressive fuel economy figures: 23 mpg city and 29 mpg highway with front-wheel drive or 22 mpg city and 28 mpg highway with all-wheel drive.

I'm not convinced you know the difference in terms of technical details between a continuously variable transmission, a clutch type automatic, or a torque converter automatic.
I like the front end a lot, but the interior is such a dealbreaker

We got a 21 QX50 and 17 Q70L, I'm pretty happy with both actually.
Rented one of these on a Colorado weekend last year. It's definitely a highly recommended rental, the seats are plush handling is good. That CVT and wacky dual screen would take allllot of time to get use to though. Spot on with your review 👍👍.
A shame about that CVT! Infiniti needs to put the 9 speed auto in this vehicle!

You got me excited when you said an 8 speed auto transmission at the start of your video. It's a CVT and Nissan has had horrible CVT issues in the past. Transmissions breaking after 40,000 miles! I would seriously consider one if it had a real 8 speed transmission!

My coworker’s Altima SR transmission went out at 65k. It was a 2017. How they are legally allowed to keep selling vehicles equipped with this transmission is insane.
@@gengstar09 Yeah I've known multiple people who had Nissan's with CVT's that failed within a few years. Then even the replacement CVT would fail again a few years later! I refuse to buy a Nissan CVT.
Same here, I was hoping that for this year they had put an actual transmission in it but wrong CVT. The same transmission they use in the Rogue and it blew up on my boy’s Rogue at 60k miles 😢, such a great looking suv but the CVT and the interior tech has not help it.
I had a toy car like one of these when I was a kid, it was my favorite car at the time, and I still find it very cool
Oddly I like the interior .. the screens being built-in to the dash is what appeals most to me.
My wife has a 2023 Nissan Rogue Platinum AWD in dark red with tan leather. We both love it.
Overall everything it's really looking good . Maybe need interior redesign

I have a 2017 Qx50 AWD 3.7L V6, with a custom exhaust, air filters, wheel and tires. I love it still! Trying this one out one time as a loaner, and I believe it was FWD, was a surprise. I did like the look, but, it felt as if the build were slightly cheaper and also the engine was not impressive and a bit rough for an SUV. I wish that they still offered one of their V6 engines, or twin turbo V6...that would certainly help things.
I think the two screens are better than the ipadephilia that you suggest.

Mom had one for a loaner and I had a NX as a loaner. I’m guessing the NX350h is better built because the NX350 drove and felt like a RAV4. Tire noise was unbelievably loud. If Infiniti just refreshed the exterior/interior of the Q50 and swapped the transmission for the 9 speed; it would be a better vehicle than the IS. I firmly believe that with the QX50 as well. The interior is much quieter and quality was very good from my mom’s loaner.
The nx350h will still drive and feel like a rav4. In fact any nx will feel like a RAV4

I had 3 straight Infiniti's; G37 IPL, first year QX50 and a Q50 Red Sport, so I was a fan of the brand. Infiniti is treading water, still hitting the Nissan parts bin, I see bits from my 2016 Q50 still being used, and the CVT is a hard no sale for me and many enthusiast buyers. Infiniti's biggest problem now is Genesis, state of the art tech, beautiful design inside and out, competitive pricing, and better warranty. I wanted a QX55, hoping it would be a full modernization with a good power train, and don't they use the CVT!! After hard shopping the Germans I bought a Genesis GV70 3.5 Sport Prestige, everything that Infiniti and IMO Lexus could have changed in their latest models. Infiniti needs a complete modernization to stay competitive....
Well Lexus and Infiniti are no longer relevant in the market. Both of them are producing so truly mediocre vehicles and overcharging for them.
Doesn’t help that the G70 is apparently being discontinued iirc. I liked that car…

I'm not much of a Nissan/Infiniti fan, but for the right price Infinitis can be decent purchases/leases. They tend to include a lot of options for their price. I bought a used older model for my kid.
I own a 2024 NX350, but rented one of these for a road trip. In comparison, the NX makes much more sense. The QX50 is roughly the same price, but has a few stand out issues - 1) The transmission noise is an issue - its super load in the cabin and causes noise floods. 2) The interior infotainment is a mess (why 2 screens and why are they both touch screens lol?!)

Yes. Hyundai-Kia and the Genesis lux line are killing it, winning more awards internationally in the last 5 years than any group. Bought a GV70 3.5 Sport prestige in November 2021, traded an Infiniti Q50 Red Sport, the GV70 is brilliant, everything Infiniti should have become.

Genesis istn killing it still have a long ways to go. infinit still outsells genesis big time. Hyundai on the other hand is killing it but they just had a big recall due to some cars starting on fire. their QC is horrible. this has happened multiple times@@rmyAddison
as mentioned before, lexus is all about reliabilty, theyre not trying to be crazy luxurious. genesis is trying to compete with the germans. The interiors look like germans vehicles @@naveenthemachine

They aren't just treading water, they're drowning only thing they've got going for them is exterior styling. I think the qx55 is absolutely gorgeous, but that engine/cvt and interior are basement.
The CVT is just insane on these things. I had a 2014 Q50 and loved it. I would get a QX50. but that CVT is just not something I will purchase.
I wish they would get rid of that dual display because it's outdated.

Really? I am reading a lot of these comments about the engine and CVT. I am so close to buying this Infiniti but now I’m second guessing it. I love Acura but was not a big fan of the RDX interior BUT very beautiful. Now I’m thinking of considering the Genesis

Why would a mass producer of automobiles make a wheel to match only one paint exterior color? I'm sure Nissan did not specify that wheel design to exactly match the paint specifications of the vehicle in this video. 🤥

I tell you what, my CX50 has no rattles at all! I've had it since December 4th of last year and so far everything is very tight on it. Only thing I need to have looked at is a squeaky brake pedal, not squeaky brakes, just the pedal when I press the brakes! You have to have good ears to hear it though! Weird, I know! The VC turbo had hardly any noticeable benefits for power or MPG, and it is tied to Nissan's horrid JATCO CVT unit.
Unless you got a screaming deal at the dealership, the Lexus NX and Acura RDX are easily better picks.
No. Disagree on the nx. The nx is also one of the worst luxury cuvs in the class. It’s just as bad as the qx50
the CVT is trash. There's a good amount of these in repair an service bays. CVT's have never had great reliability. Highly avoid.
Rogue has a better interior, both design wise and materials quality, it even has rear seat sun shades and 3rd zone climate control.
Design and features, yes because the Rogue is a newer product. But materials quality has never been an issue in the QX50 and it is a step up on the Rogue in that regard, though the new Rogue is very good.
Not really a bargain since youre gonna use the rest of the bands on new transmissions😂
With that interior it makes me think they are trying to go out of business.

this Car has a huge problem, in fact the new Lexus NX.
Infiniti just isn’t a luxury brand. It’s burns me to say that, cause I had a 2004 G35 back in the day, one of best cars I’ve ever owned. Thats when Infiniti was at its best, and they were actually making luxury cars that could compete with Lexus, Audi, BMW etc. They just aren’t appealing in the luxury market anymore, they’ve fallen so far behind their competitors. If I were looking for a luxury midsize crossover, I would never even consider the QX50, cause you can get an X3,Q5,NX or RDX for all around the same price.
Nowadays Lexus too isn’t any better than infiniti. If anything Lexus is becoming the next infiniti. Infiniti is already done as a brand but now Lexus might just be next

Infiniti is making some truly disappointing luxury cars but Lexus isn’t really impressing anyone either. Their newest models are no better than the corollary from Infiniti. In fact depending on the vehicle the Infiniti might be better than lexus
lexus is known for reliability. what are you talking about. the nx is the most reliable compact suv. people buy lexus for reliabilty, its been #1 in reliability every year for many years
