The early thrust washers disintegrated that is what caused excessive play in the isolastics. If you had the modern PTFE thrust washers that would not happen. once it was shimmed properly it would not change much and need to change the thin metal shims. You can insert new rubbers similar to the OEM ones without a lot of work.
I have a 73 750 and I'm lucky enough to have an overhead gantry , so I just soft stroped the back in the air , it wasn't that hard , I did the front one first , no installation tools , Cheers.

Make sure you get the newer type thrust washers that are light brown in color the material is called PTFE.
