- In this video we install 2" rear drop shackles on a 1995 Ford F-150.
I also do a walk around of this one owner pickup truck.
The truck has 190,000 miles and has a 300 engine and 5 speed transmission. - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
Great video. It seems like a lot of work for not much payoff. This video changed my mind about buying these. Thank you. Very nice truck.
Get the 4" drop if you want it lower. Or do the flip kit. I flipped the axle and did the 4" drop. Measured just over 7" of rear drop. Don't do dream means. They break. Do lowering springs up front. Or get lightning front springs. Between 1-2" that way
That thang is purring..
Soundz great!!
Nice Truck! Awesome job!
Clean truck. Looks awesome!!
Very nice truck👍
Man, that is a super clean truck.
Count Drugula one of the cleanest trucks on the road for that year and it has almost 200,000 miles on it.
I'm doing this to my grandmother's truck. Would be a great grocery getting truck for her! She'll be able to get in and out of it easy!😂
Naui Diver to be honest it only dropped it about an inch.
Great job guys
Thank you!
Very, very nice truck.
ICS Ivan it has been babied it’s whole life. I am replacing his alternator this morning and I hope I don’t scratch the truck while I am working on it.
You sure made a simple job into a huge project. Wouldn’t want to have you guys touching my truck
Also, how did you mount the fog lights? Did you drill into the bumper or the plastic lip? Very good lookin truck. Mine is a 1996 single cab, short bed, and with the 300 but it's an automatic unfortunately. Mine also has around 190k miles.
very nice
Roberto Garcia thanks!
"It aint got no gas in it"
I put 2" lowering shackles on mine with the same results - about 1/2 inch. I'm going to do hangers.
Yeah I said something to him about hangers but he was overall happy with the height of the rear ended.
Did you ever try hangers? I did and they didn’t fit. It was a pain in the ass and I’m going to have to re use the original hanger + the shackle to atleast drop it a little.
My 1995 has 144k and its clean too and the same color
I think he has about 200k on it now.
What the heck is that shifter? An umbrella? Where did you get the chrome lower panel covers and chrome wheel well trim? GREAT looking truck!
Rob Ernst I want to say that shifter knob is a wood broom handle. A small hand held kind. It looks pretty cool in there. I think a the chrome came from LMC truck.
So you jacked from the front to get the top bolts out?
What size are those bolts you had to replace
I want my lowered so bad
Very nice video. Does anyone know of any vids on lowering 1996? I have the same kit as this if it's a 2/4 kit
I would imagine the rear kit would be the same. Drive your truck to Tennessee and we will make a video on a 96.
It's the same. I've got a 96 and did the 4" rear drop. It definitely was a challenge getting the leafs bolted to the front mount. Don't forget the pinion angle shim!
Sharp truck, sharp sharp what part of the country do you live in, no rust
Tennessee
Nice pick up, have one myself! Where did you get your floor mats?
I think those are Husky floor mats. LMC truck or eBay might have them.
Can you please do a video of cutting front springs for a 2" drop in front?
K Fo I might do that on the shop truck this summer. What do you think? Video link below.

@@ThezNutzGarage Nice, I look forward to watching that video!
You can't cut the front springs. Well you can, but it will ride horrible and they don't sit in the perch correctly
@@user-dn6qy1ou1f I understand. I've since purchase lowering spring that were professionally built and cut. None the less great video, thanks anyway!
How you open the hood?
What’s part number on these shackles
Beautiful truck where did you get the truck bed, or part number by any chance???? Thanks
Truck bed?
@@ThezNutzGarage the black bed cover, tunneau cover,
I will ask him where he got it.
@@ThezNutzGarage thank you and if he knows the part number.
Taking the rear tires off would have made it a little easier.
Keith Grant yeah we learned a lot that day! He is very particular about that truck and I am surprised he let my even touch it. Lol!
Where did you get your rocker panel trim if you don’t mine me asking?
Micah Duvall3 I will ask my buddy who owns the truck.
Micah Duvall3 carid.com
Thez Nutz Garage do you know if they’re the cut yourself ones or already pre cut sized
Micah Duvall3 precut and he said they are 6” and maybe the brand is VI
Where did you get the chrome fenders guards and the rocker panels?
I will ask my buddy that owns the truck.
@@ThezNutzGarage thanks tell him it's a real nice truck, I flipped when I saw the chrome bug guard I've been dying for it for a year now, pricey though. I have similiar color in extended cab and just need those chrome pieces to finish it up.
He has babied that truck since the day he bought it new. It will be tomorrow before he texts me back.

Whats the part number!!?
And will they fit on a f150 1992 ?
Erasmo Martinez I would image they would fit a 92 BUT overall it only dropped the rear about an inch!
Erasmo Martinez here is the link to the 2” drop shackles.
djmsuspension.com/product/sh1014-2/
How many inches that shackle is from bolt to bolt ( center ) ?
I can’t remember but if you look that company up on the Google I bet they can tell you. Sorry
What size and length bolts did you use??
Phillip Romero we went back and replaced all the bolts with factory sized bolts.
Could a person make there own drop shackles?
Hillbilly Peak. I would not attempt to do it. The way the factory shackles are made I am not talented enough for fabricate them and when the new are only around $70 why chance it.
@@ThezNutzGarage 2 years later..yes, they just need to be longer so they sit higher. Could easily weld an extension on
Were you able to use stock height shocks or?? I’m about to drop the rear of my 95 just looking for input
Yes
I just installed mine 1/2 in not worth the trouble ps shackles
True
@@ThezNutzGarage I'm going with hangers now see if I get it level
Where did you get you chrome lower big trim at?
I have no idea where he got that trim.
Where did you get those mirrors
Tc2hippy those mirrors are factory. He has added so chrome trim on the the truck and that maybe way they look different.
@@ThezNutzGarage You can get those mirrors including the glass for less than $25 on Amazon.com.
Who makes that tonneau cover
I will have to ask the owner of the truck.
That was scary to watch
Yep
Just put some on mine and for some reason it hits the bed
I remember them being really close to the bottom side of the bed. I really don’t think it did much at all as far as height goes.
@@ThezNutzGarage Yeah it really didn't, maybe about 1 inch that's it. But I'm thinking of doing a flip kit instead and coils in the front
Yeah that’s probably the best thing to do. That truck currently is being repaint and maybe when it done I can do another video on it.
@@ThezNutzGarage hell yeah man, bad ass ! I'll definitely be on the look out for the vid 💯 looks great
8.8 is grade 8
Thank you
Just flip the hangers
Morton Family I might try that on our new shop truck when we lower it.
I flipped my front hangers and it leveled the back with the front perfectly! But it also made the pinion angle so bad I could barely drive around the block. Was very sad seeing my truck exactly how I wanted it then had to put it right back to original until I get some axle shims
@@danielmiller3967 I did the rears.

Drop lift lol
Bed cover,
I sent him a message.
He said it’s a tri-fold and the brand is truxedo brand

Why wouldn't you just get a leveling kit for $60? Gay.
Katherine Robertson leveling kits I think raise the front end by two inches. He wanted to lower the truck not raise it up.
Cuz who the hell lifts a 2wd is why
