    Thank you guys for posting this video!. I inherited my grandpa's 96 f150 2wd and have been looking for good examples of leveling these trucks. We intend to fully restore our truck so keep the videos coming please!

      That's pretty cool! I inherited my grandpas 92 f150 2wd and I'm doing the same thing. I was able to figure out everything until I got to the spacer for the shock, and so here I am lol.

      You paid 1400 for ball joints??

    • @johnnyohness
      @johnnyohness 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep sure did. Had my truck in for another minor problem but knew once in a while hitting a bump would make the front end shutter. After explaining the problem to the mechanic shop they said they knew what the problem was the ball joints. Like an idiot, I said go ahead and repair it thinking the cost would be 7-800 they fixed it and called me to pick it up and handed me a bill for 1400. I had no choice but to pay for it. Lesson learned.

      I know, there was NO physical way I could have done this myself, but had my f150 done months later at a shop that was 700.00 That's probably a ton to much also.

    Thank you for the video. Please share what size tire and rim that you have on your truck? Do your rims have an offset?

    • @ChristmanGarage

      15" x 10" rims 275/60 r15 tires
      I have never measured the offset so I'm not sure about that if I had to make a guess they are probably about 4" offset.

    So I’ve been wanting to buy some 2-3in blocks. Most of the ones I’ve seen say that they won’t work on xl/xlt, ext cabs models. I’m assuming it’s all the same front suspension. Am I missing something?

    • @ChristmanGarage
      @ChristmanGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the cab shouldn’t make any difference that’s unusual

  • @grandgaming_5483
    @grandgaming_5483 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just curious, did you absolutely need to replace the back shocks after the 1-inch block? Also how did the camber turn out in the end?

    • @ChristmanGarage
      @ChristmanGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the old shocks would have been long enough but we replaced on them because we had the other ones laying around and they were in better shape. Now for the camber question we put the largest degree bushing we could find in the top ball joint and actually had to grind some off the top of the spindle for clearance when it turned. The final readings are 1/2 degree positive on both sides. That is not ideal and I would have loved to get a tiny bit of negative camber in it but that is the limitations of the stock suspension. We have a plan to lower the inner pivot points on the swing arms to reduce that but haven’t had a chance to get that done yet. (Planing on shooting a video on that as well👍) he has put about 3,000 miles on it since the lift and the tires are wearing good with no issues so I’m not terribly concerned about the camber so far.
      Thanks for the comment👍
