  • The Samurai's upgraded front axle is all buttoned up and ready for install. To help prevent future frame bending and give us a better surface to weld new suspension products, we put on some frame plates too!

      Thanks dude! It's a dirty job, but it pays off in the end. Still working on my transmission, but hopefully the Samurai will be out of the garage soon and hitting the trails! Good luck with your front axle.

    Hi looks awesome great vid. Just a question are you going to run without shocks up front.

    • @FortuneOffRoad
      @FortuneOffRoad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll probably be running some monotube bilstein shocks. I'll try to flex it out really good to get some good measurements first. 🤙🏻

    Will the bare metal areas on the frame rail behind the plates rust? I know they make weld thru primer. I think thats what its for.

    • @FortuneOffRoad
      @FortuneOffRoad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibly... I feel like I did a pretty good job welding it up. Sprayed a lot of paint on there too.

    How does it drive on the highway with the SPOA suspension? I know some people can't even drive their Samurais on the road with SPOA. I have the Epic Trek SPUA and would think about the SPOA version if I can get confirmation that it is still very driveable on the highway.

    • @FortuneOffRoad
      @FortuneOffRoad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine drives great! With the propane I can only go about 50mph so I usually keep the highway driving to a minimum.

    What kind of front leaf springs are you using?

    Where did you get the leaf springs? Or are they just oem ones painted?

      Those are the stock springs painted with new bushings. 🤙🏻

    • @FortuneOffRoad

      It's all stock springs, just put on top of the axle to achieve about 5.5" of lift.

      @@FortuneOffRoad don't they have to be longer? (+ 5cm I am from Romania - Europe) 5cm = 1.96 inches thank you very much

    • @FortuneOffRoad
      @FortuneOffRoad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adycheeco1155 the rear springs are longer but I don't know by how much. The YJ springs are longer than stock front springs too. It sounds like the conversion pushes the axle 1-1.5" forward. Maybe someone else can chime in. 🤙🏻
