I used to think Europeans were thinner than Americans because they walked everywhere. Then I saw your video about holding the fork upside down in the left hand and realized I would be skinny if I had to eat that way. LOL Your suggestion to always drink out of a glass was something I'd never really thought about. My husband has a mustache and always needs a glass so that's just what we've always done. We were looking polished and didn't know it. As a former teacher, fighting gum was a daily battle. I'd ask kids whether they saw anchors on tv chewing gum and tell them that's what a professional looked like.

Love these tips! I just finished your book, and it was so insightful! I'm beginning to love etiquette and just told my mom recently thank you for teaching me good manners. I didn't appreciate it as much then, but now I'm trying to pass them on to my kids and grow better in them as well.

Drinking from a bottle totally agree!
Great tips! In the country where I live, chewing gum is only a health product. Dentists have been recommending it for decades after every meal because of the Xylitol. Fortunately, nowadays there are also Xylitol pastilles and you almost never see adults eating chewing gum. I didn't even know that chewing gum is eaten just for fun too (because it's not fun. 😅).

My mom told me bout that bottle drinking when I was a kid.... Hard to believe how many women drink from a bottle, bar, restaurant,, etc.. looks like crap ..
