For everyone complaining about why the queen kept going back, her dragon was injured and couldn’t out fly Vhagar. She would not have made it back to Dragon Stone. Instead of dying while running, she decided to fight.

Daemon and Aemond are similarly rash but, Daemon would never try to kill his brother no matter how much he disagreed with him. Also, Rhaynes was blamed for not "finishing the job" and stopping the war when she escaped the palace... This time, she wanted to finish the job, but just could'nt.

In the books, Rhaenys knew she was going to die but fought on, she did her best to do as much damage to both Sunfyre and Vhagar to protect her house. She knew Baela and Rhaenyra would eventually have to deal with these dragons. In the end, her death was not in vain because she handicaps Aegon and Sunfyre for most of the dance. In the show, Aemond is the one that does that because of the whole bullying storyline, but in the books, that was all Meleys
Aemond was 100% going to kill Aegon. Cole stopped him from it because he didn't want witnesses and to end up as a kingslayer.
The directing is ambigious. Aemond goes there with a sword in hand but when he reaches the dragon, sheathes it. Cole spots Aemond with his sword (looking like he was unsheathing it, which is a huge misdirection) and yells at him to stop.
The writing on the other hand is obvious. Aemond obviously does not find value in his brother being alive. He goes there to finish the job. Sees the knife on the ground. Decides to slay Aegon WITH the knife so he sheathes his sword. This is when Cole yells at him, he looks back thinking "fuck" then plays with the monarch daggar while Cole has a breakdown.
20:04 no, he was going to kill Aegon. No one carries a sword like that to sheathe it. When Criston called him, only then he sheathed it.

It's like a gatcha game. I think the Velaryon line has maybe a 0.01% chance of producing a dragon rider, and Adam happend to be praying to RNGsus

Common theory has always been that Laenor wasn't their father but was just a convenient excuse to save face for Corlys. Laenor couldn't father a child with his wife for years and wasn't even interested in women to begin with. It would be weird for him to have not one, but two bastards.

The Rhaenys Corlys scene hits a bit harder, this was the first time they didn't end their convo great. Rhaenys is realizing that Corlys might be more to Alynn of Hull than a Lord Commander.
I'm not sure if Rhaenys knew all along or just figured it out in the moment, seeing Alyn. What I love the most about this scene is that Rhaenys wasn't bitter about it. She encouraged Corlys to give him a suitable station.

Rhaenys has the biggest dragon, no one wanted her to come back but who else can have the opportunity to kill that beast? He came back knowing what it meant but if there was a possibility... I'm not prepared to continue watching dragons die. Melise has felt it, how sad, and Eagon's dragon? The links between rider and dragon are so well represented that it breaks your heart.

I like how this proves how dangerous war with dragons is, and the reason why rhaenyra was so against it. Many people lose their lives. Cole finally sees that. He legit thought it would be an easy fight.
If the dragon seeds were already here and Rhaenyra did plan a suprise attack where she will send Vermithor and Seasmoke to give aid on Rhaenys and Meleys. There will be a lot of chance Rhaenys/Meleys will survive. No way Aemond can match the power of Vermithor and Meleys and adding Seasmoke attacking Vhagars wings and after that He will go for Aegons soldiers.
I'm hoping we get some actual action with the Dragonseeds this season. Not sure when they get mounted in the books, but looking forward to them!
It's kind of cool that one episode showed three of them, at least, doing "food stuff".
One grabbing a piece of food from the basket of a passing person.
One eating a meal while discussing the price of food.
One crabbing while being assessed by a specific dragon.
I might need to go back and see if the fourth dud something "foody" and I missed it.
In the books Aegon and Sunfyre had literally one of the closest bonds of all dragon riders who ever existed.. Poor boy, poor dragons don't deserves all this family drama. Honestly, this season is owned by Tom Glynn-Carney. Even when Aegon was powerless in the small council scene, he totally owned the scene. It’s bizarre because the writers clearly want the audience to like Team Black more than Green, but they made the Greens way more interesting to watch. Rhaenyra spends basically all her screen time wringing her hands and being indecisive, Daemon is off having a tantrum in the middle of nowhere and doesn’t have much character beyond “I’m angry”, and Rhaenys kind of just stands around looking smug/condescending. (except for the showdown ofc, RIP Meleys and Rhaenys)
Rhaenys could litteraly end the war here. That's why she stayed.
The 5 biggest threats of Team Green are here : Aemond/Vhagar, Criston Cole, and Aegon/Sunfyre. Aegon/Sunfyre were out, and she was doing well against Vhagar, putting her down against all odds. It was her duty to try. A success would have given the victory to Team Black.
If Vhagar (or at least Aemond) and Sunfyre were both killed, the Greens would only have two dragons left : Tessarion and Dreamfyre. Dreamfyre is not a warrior/fighting type (like Syrax), and Tessarion is still young and too tiny to beat a dragon like Caraxes.

The saddest thing is that people hate the character of Christon Cole (the kingmaker), and the reason is the book of the series, because in all honesty he is considered a great force for the Greens, an army commander, a brave military planner, and his role is no less important than the dragons in war. I hope this character will be treated justice in the future, as it was in the books.
Honestly since his character left King's Landing I've been enjoying Cole. He's competent on the battlefield.

I like the addition of Aegon wearing Valyrian steel armor, which isn't in Fire and blood. Him having it actually explains how he survives this.

I think Rhaynes was reflecting at the aftermath from the dragons on the field. On top of finding out about the cheating of her husband and her two children dying, I think she was just over it. Not suic*ide, but trying to end it unlike last time at the pit

It wasn't stupidity, he wanted Aegon out of the way. Aegon has a relatively powerful dragon but he's a liability. Aemond can now rule as regent (or King) unopposed.

Was Aegon an asset or a liability? Tessarion and Dreamfyre is still available. The second best rider and dragon is gone from Team Black. Only Caraxes can challenge, but Daemon is fighting dreams.

I loved Rhaenys, but she did this to herself. Meleys is at least twice as fast and maneuverable as Vhagar, riding her anywhere near where Vhagar could ambush her instead of staying constantly out of reach was a rookie mistake worthy of Luke. Not to mention the fact that the battle was done, the army was annihilated, there was no reason at all for her to hang around loitering. Either she was stupid or the writers were.
The army wasn't annihilated they took the castle once Rhaenys and the dragon fell onto it and breached the wall. Rhaenys was trying to take out Vhaegar to end the war once and for all.

i really liked the guy who spit on cole. i hope cole feels bad now. I'm glad he lived so he can face the aftermath of his stupidity. aemond was back to being cruel and vengeful. and I honestly felt kind of bad for aegon. he's not a good guy but I think its mostly from the way he was raised. and no one is takinghim seriously or including him, just leaving him as a figurehead and not letting him do anything. his mothers lecture, though perhaps somewhat true, was so harsh. she clearly has no love for him. he just wanted to go prove he could do something. his dragon was beautiful too. and if they had included him in the plans like they should include the king then he would have known what was going to happen and maybe he wouldn't have gotten hurt. the scene with rheanys and alyn was so awkward. its like hmm the woman my husband cheated on me with must have been hot if you turned out like this. but it was big of her to tell her husband to legitimize him. she was so wise and controlled and classy. i really liked her, she was one of my top characters, and I'm so sad she died. but she went out really fighting and going for it. the look on her dragons face broke my heart.
