the look between Meleys and Rhaenys before they died… it brokes me
Poor sunfyre. Prolly thought his master was taking him out for a flight. Little did he know that it was his last😭
Rhaenys' death is sadder if you think that Vhagar was the dragon of her beloved daughter Laena and that Aemond "stole" the right to claim her from his granddaughter Rhaena
You can hate Aegon but that bond with Sunfyre is the bond that all riders want but very few actually have it’s just my luck that my two favorite dragons are Sunfyre and Dreamfyre 😭🤦♂️
Aegon trying to speak Valyrion: I can haz cheezeburger
I love the brief glimpse we get of Aegon's relationship with Sunfyre. You can see the love. Probably the only kind of love Aegon has ever experienced.
"And everywhere the dragons danced the people died."
"Princess Rhaenys made no attempt to flee. With a glad cry and a crack of her whip, she turned Meleys to her enemies." 💔 - Fire & Blood (Im fuckin cryin bros) RIP to the Red Queen, and The Queen Who SHOULDVE Been.
“Beloved daughter of lady Jocelyn Baratheon and prince Aemon Targaryen, faithful wife to Corlys Velaryon, mother and grandmother, the queen who never was lived fearlessly, and died amidst blood and fire. she was fifty-five years old.”
And the sounds that Sunfyre was making I couldn’t handle it when I watched I was yelling and crying
Sunfyre crying literally made me cry this episode. I know the war is about dragons v dragons but it’s so sad 😭
Rhaenys returned because regardless of the ambush, the order from her queen and the original intention was to secure rooks rest and stop criston cole's advance. she could've easily fled on several occasions but that would mean effectively giving up the crownlands and maybe the war at this point, so se took her chances and decided to fight.
Meleys: It's an honour...to die at your side.
you guys have no idea how much sunfyre loves Aegon
Cody: Do you think they're gonna come on their dragons?
“Princess Rhaenys made no attempt to flee. With a glad cry and a crack of her whip, she turned Meleys toward the foe.” - Fire & Blood. Rhaenys Targaryen and her dragon Meleys not backing down and bravely facing Vhagar.
You didn't need to be a book reader to know Rhaenys was dying this season but damn I really wasn't expecting it this early, thought it would be an episode 7 or 8 moment. Heartbreaking stuff watching the looks exchanged between Rhaenys and Meleys. Really wish she dipped because Eve Best has done an amazing job playing the role. Fair play though they took Vhagar down at the very least. Huge loss for house black, can't wait to see where it goes from here.
Say what you will, but poor Sunfyre's screams of pain and terror are a thousand times more heartbreaking to me than the look between Meleys and Rhaenys, sorry. He really didn't expect, much less deserve, this.
The beheading line has the same energy as "my ancestors are smiling upon me imperials, can you say the same"
Alicent dropped the model dragon early in the episode. I wonder if that was foreshadowing for Sunfyre or Meleys falling!
