You can pay weekly or bi-weekly. I recommend billing weekly.

I have a question. I understand the billable hours but from my experience, having a caregiver working more than one case has caused issues with this pandemic. I had a caregiver get sick and it effected (3) separate cases that she worked on trying the billable hours route and your so right about the turn over. Which forces us to seek more caregivers. What are you thoughts or suggestions?

@@baybay746 no because every program and state are different. I would recommend looking at the manual and calling the program for support.

I would love to know your pov on consumer directed care. Good for the client... Taking money out of your pocket?
Just as an example, the client transitioned to consumer directed. Care giver quit, the agency got hired by the client under consumer Directed. The consumer directed client offered the same job Same hours but double the pay. How do we justify taking that fifty percent that could go to the caregiver?

how do we as caregivers know how much we are suppose to get paid from a client as the caregiver not what the agency wants to pay us?
If you work for an agency, you’ve already agreed to your hourly pay. You perform duties for the client. The client is contracted with the agency and not you. Thus the client is not paying you.
1 client is working 168 hours a week/ 24 hours a day. Is this for a live in caregiver? Math never been my strong suite.
Not not a live in. Two (12) hour shifts. Ex: 24 hours a day X 7 days a week = 168 hours X your fee charged to the client.

How much do you charge a client to make a profit when paying a caregiver?
It varies, you have to know your numbers ie overhead, employer taxes, going pay in your local market, rates in your local market etc. Based on national surveys the average profit is 30%.

What are the requirements or specifications for hiring a caregiver?
It depends on your state's rules & regulations. If you are in a non-regulated state then there are no specific rules. I recommend following your agency's policies. Create a job description and identify the credentials you would want that position to have.

You would charge your hourly rate regardless if 8, 10, or 24 hours.

Why is Louisiana the worst state for licensing for HomeCare?😩😡😡😡 so much red tape and denials
It isn't the worst:-) However, it is challenging especially with the low $11 and the cents reimbursement rate for medicaid.

How do you count live-in hours to Billable hours
You don’t count hours...you count days. However, the caregiver pay is pretty involved. Personally, I don’t recommend Live-In care. I have a video here on TH-cam explaining the Live In process. Take care
