Examples:
If a state requires a license or permit for home care…you need to verify what lines of services are regulated. Ie Skilled Nursing, Personal Care, Companion, Staffing .
Some will regulate personal care but not homemaker/companion.
Yes, Florida does regulate home make/companion under a registration. They actually offer several different types of licenses.
NY & MD are regulated states, however, NOT homemaker.

Many of my clients in Florida are Medicaid waiver providers. There are some many options in Florida so it depends.

My pleasure, the key to doing business in the US is the follow the local municipality rules, state and federal laws where your business will operate.
In most states(disclaimer because I haven’t worked in all)
Yes, you would need to set up a business legally, have an address, etc.
If you already have an agency and want to expand, research “foreign entity” on the SOS website.
Personally, I’ve successfully done it twice and have helped many clients.
I highly recommend consulting with your attorney and or CPA.

Yes, if you are in a regulated state and have a home care license… you can offer companion services.
“Not Needing” a license, registration , and or permit for companion/homemaker business in a “Regulated” state only exist in a few states. Here are two examples NY & Md.

Sure you can, I don’t recommend providing the service yourself. The rules states the care will be in the client’s residence.
Adult Day Centers are regulated as well. I strongly recommend you check your state’s rules and regulations.

Some states like NY & MD regulate personal care but not companion/homemaker. You can start your business as long as your employees are not assisting with ADL’s.
Some states do not regulate any services. Please let me know if that clarified for you.

You best be licensed to offer, if you are in a regulated state. If not, you should refer her to another agency that is licensed to provide the care.
