It would be better to do it on camera to ruin the greedy nonsense they're getting off with.
And then also burn it of course because even the ripped card would probably have some fool paying for it if it's ever found.
Obviously it's pretty unlikely, but that's my plan were I the one to see it.
I have zero interest in treating cardboard as an investment or anyone who does calling themselves a collector because collectors collect, they don't act as glorified pawn shops and scalpers.
I will not a-okay any company doing this with their game.

Yeah I'm very curious to see if Wizards has any safeguard to prevent this from happening. Like for example, there is a unique marking or difference on the back of the card, specific texture, something else included in the pack (certificate, etc.) that only they know about, therefore they can could denounce a fake if need be. Otherwise, I really don't see how anyone could tell the difference between a fake if that card was not filmed being opened or something. Even then, someone with the right motivation could probably make a convincing box opening....for a card like this, it would be worth the effort.

We also got the Sol Ring re-skins, limited to 300, 500, and 700, so a total of 1500. Even more playable cards, so they are the real safety net for the set. Option 5: The card shows up without fanfare, gets professionally graded, pops up on the market. Pulls down one of those half million, or million dollar offers and disappears. Six months later, ANOTHER copy pops up. And now we have to ask if either one is legitimate? Because, when you combine the quality of counterfeit magic cards today, with a card that we know was a non-standard printing, and there are no other examples to verify against, there IS NO WAY to know if it's a legitimate copy. This even spills over onto the idea of someone cracking a pack on video. Can we say with absolute certainty it came from an undoctored pack.
Now, I haven't spent any significant amount of cash on Magic in almost 20 years at this point, but this Tengwar language One Ring card is too valuable not to counterfeit, and someone's going to try to get in there early. What would not surprise me is if we have two or three fake copies show up very early, and there's no way to distinguish the fakes from the real ones in this case.

I do think that this product is going to be at an initial till the One Ring is found; then we'll have to see what other cards will be available through this product. IF there are enough reprints and strong cards then I'm sure it'll dip for a bit, but retain the value well. If the reprints are bad and the cards themselves aren't strong enough to maintain interest then the whole set might just end up being a wash in the long term. At this time though I think we're just banking on whether you think the One Ring gets found soon rather than later to decide the long term value.

      No you wouldn't.
You, like anyone else, would try to sell for alot of money or hold it for the attention it gets.
Your pay back on money from views on a video of you destroying it wouldn't incentivise you either because TH-cam is a dimishing return with their ever changing rules around monetization and it's a more of a gamble than just trying to sell it, or pulling some type of ransom shenanigan..
Doesn't even matter that I challenge your integrity though, because you are almost guaranteed, like me and others to never see that card in person.
I won't buy, so I know I have zero chances at it.
But let's say someone gifted me a pack and I cracked it...
I probably wouldn't know what to do at first.
How to start the ball rolling on off loading that thing for a nice pay out.
I heard someone suggested contacting wotc/hasbro and cutting a deal with them. You keep quiet about pulling the main gimmick chase card for a period of time (say a year) , which artificially keeps box sales from being affected by the opportunity to crack the 1 of 1 card being gone, in exchange for product, which I would then sell.
Then go on to sell the 1 of 1 card after the year, or try to leverage another deal perhaps.
Bottom line, anyone that gets this thing is going to get something for it, depending how they act.

To me it seems like this is a significantly crazier version of when WOTC put power 9 in the first print run of OG Zendikar. Just looked at TCG player a box of Zendikar is going $1,300? The benefit for the seller is you don't know if it's a first print run box and WOTC didn't say how many cards they put into the packs, which retains the price. If the ring is never found, wouldn't be surprised if box prices kept going up

Who ever would buy it from Amazon would probably make a video of it since most people who buy from them drops are not investors but average people.

As long as the ring is not found the seal product will keeps its value for how long no idea. It could be found in weeks months years. The longer it takes the more value the seal product will be.

The thing no one is talking about is there is no guarantee that wotc will include the card in the first print run. It does not benefit wotc at all for the card to be found in the first week….or even the first month. The longer it goes unfound, the longer people chase. And wotc can guarantee there will be a chase by not releasing it into the wild until the second print run.

Of course by then, money is worthless because the banks went tits up. But then the one ring will be worth mega tones of whatever the world comes up with to replace the worthless money.

I'd buy as much of the sealed product for it that I could and I would sit on it for 6 years. then sell the sealed boxes at a extremely high mark up. then once I made all my money from selling sealed product at a mark up I know doesn't have the one card. THEN I would sell to the highest bidder for a couple million.
