    For the algorithm:
It is sad that the way how the youtube game plays out, videos like this are discouraged, since they are in a way a piece of art.
And thusly they have a merit of theit own.
These insights into magic are always great and serve a purpose.
Magic has been around for so long that some of these cards and stories feel like actual history documentaries about ancient history… which crazy to me since this is a card game

I like the mechanic from a game design perspective, but the thing we often learn is this: Cost reduction mechanics are dangerous.
Delve: Treasure Cruise, Dig through Time
      Phyrexian mana: Gitaxian Probe, Dismember
      Affinity (for artifacts): *watches video*
I would be willing to bet that, if you counted the number of banned cards in non-rotating formats that cost zero mana and/or had a way to reduce its cost, it would have the highest number by a long shot.

Haven't finished yet but so excited. Affinity is my favorite arctype in magic, and seeing this video brings me great joy thinking back to the days of mirrodin and how it became the shaping to what is some of my favorite magic decks to this day. WotC bring back blocks!

I love that I had never played more than a handful of magic games in my life but I downloaded a homebrew for my psp called wagic in 2011 and realized affinity was an insane style deck all in my own.
    That's how obvious it was

What's funny to me about this is, I started playing Magic around this time. I didn't realize that affinity and Skullclamp etc. were broken, I just though that was part of the game. I haven't played the game in years, so this was a fun walk down memory lane, and a good way to learn the fate of the affinity decks!
