I'm curious what people think about the intro to this video, since it was a long one. Does it work or too long? You can vote in a poll here:
th-cam.com/users/postUgkx1BsfMIDhPyzMG2TvsG4zBhSas2CVxsdF
no it wasn't too long...
Loved it 😊
I'm pretty new to the channel but i thought the intro and the song were great!
Cool music.
Definitely not too long, I enjoyed it, it was like travelling those mountain roads again! Love the music and lyrics!
Wow, I was there 25 years ago to the day - 1998!! After an awful time in Mandi, I stopped in Kasol and then headed up to the hot springs, stayed about a week.... There were 4 Sadhus who lived above a tea shop in Manikaram. Their song is still an earworm to this day: "The three sacred Cs of Parvati; chai, chillum and chapati". Happy days. It was part of a mad 6 month adventure. I can't believe I haven't been back since!
You've become very complacent in these past 25 years. Grab a mitt and get back in the game fella.
@@ErvuJukl I'm still in bro. I never went home from that trip 25 years ago hehe. I'm living in Thailand currently but have plans to get back to India and Nepal next year.
@@JBWanders73 that's great 👍 In that case, keep doin' the do!
What happened in Mandi?
Same. Time flies, huh?
Most foreigners when come to INDIA just travel delhi and Taj mahal, which I would not recommend as INDIA 🇮🇳 has way to much of nature like - mountains, tropical rainforest, beaches, islands, swamps, desert, salt desert, plateaus, snowy mountains and wildlife is a whole another chapter.❤
Yes most tourist are sheep, they follow and never really get off the comfort zone. I'll admit India is a challenge and can be intimidating for most foreigners as they've never experienced such a assault on the senses.
In my experience with Indian culture over the past 50 years, everyone in the world is considered 'foreigner' to Indians. Great video BTW
Hahhh and they teach us here in the States that using the word 'foreigner' is"non-inclusive language" and even slightly rude
@@stereomaster4231 Nah, don't believe it, that's bullshit propaganda. Foreigner just means someone that's not local.
Hey Gabe, your connection with India is truly remarkable, and your videos are a testament to your profound enjoyment in this vibrant and diverse country. It's evident that you're having a unique and memorable experience here. Keep cherishing every moment, and thank you for showcasing the beauty of India. 🇮🇳🙏💙
Come here in August and see the greenery and the Apple village near manikaran.
I was in Parvati Valley earlier this year and I miss this place, man. One of the most magical places I went to in my 4 months in India. I recommend that you cross the bridge in Kasol to the other side of the Parvati River and walk about half an hour west to Challal, at the base of the path up through a valley to Rashol. No roads go to Challal, but that is where I started to really feel the magic of this place. So many open nature trails, and incredibly beautiful. I saw families walking back home from Kullu, carrying all kinds of goods, including Rhododendron juice. Kasol itself isn't that great, but the towns nearby inaccessible by road are magic.
20:19 Plot Twist .. Gabe never left that room since 2014. All other travels were just the creation of his deep state meditation.
Green screens.
Wow, what a beautiful corner of the world! The mountains views are stunning ❤Also the paneer curry at the end had my mouthwatering and making me ready to visit India again haha
That brought back memories. My wife and I did our honeymoon trip in India in 1991. We took the toy train to the beautiful hill station Shimla (what a ride!), and after a few days decided to take a bus to Kulu. That didn't go well. The bus was swaying wildly from side to side on the narrow winding road like we were on the high seas. Several locals were sticking their heads out the window to throw up. I swear one lady was almost decapitated by an oncoming bus. My wife went into a full blown panic attack and we had to be left off the bus at a roadside temple, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately we found a taxi to take us the rest of the way. We stayed at the very rustic and very cool "palace" in Kulu for a few days, and then made our way down the valley to Manali, where we had a very enjoyable stay, before heading back to Delhi by taxi (had planned to fly, but winds were too high for the plane to land safely). Good times!
I really didn't want this video to finish, loving the footage Gabe.
Parvati valley / Kasol / Manikaran - I remember your 2014 bus journey.. when I watched it back then.. I was so WOWed
In India, the unchecked construction boom - especially along the flash flood prone mountain rivers and their landslide prone banks - is a major environmental concern for the Himalayan region. Your vlog continuously captures so many new and unfinished concrete structures.
Gabe knows where all the hot spots are!
Upriver from Tosh is the most spectacular view of the upper mountains at confluence of the Beas river at a place called Samsi Thach. It is a beautiful place to camp for a few days and to do trekking from there up to the glaciers.
👋Hey there Gabriel, I personally love your intro's & this one's of no exception.
I especially love the awesome exotic music that is played each time. The South Asian/Indian music that you played the past few days & including today has been really wonderful to listen to. I found myself dancing each time! lol Indian music touches ones soul.
I just love watching your videos each time they appear & I won't lie, these India videos are the very best all around!!
I love India as you do & IMPO, I think you appear most relaxed, happy, joyful/cheerful & @ peace when you're in India.
I always feel right @ home when I'm in India. To me, it's always a very magical, colourful, exciting & soul uplifting experience when I travel across this amazing & beautiful country, warts & all.
I think I've watched each of your India videos repeatedly, @ least 3 to 4 times over!😄
Thanks for creating & sharing your wonderful global travels.
Cheers & peace✌
I am glad you find India so close to your heart . The beauty of India is not for everyone to understand . One needs to excavate their way inside in order to find the actual gold . Otherwise from outside India might look too overwhelming with its hustle and bustle , the population , the poverty , the hygine etc . Once you get used to it , India will melt your heart with its rich culture and history , its diversity , its food , its natural beauty , its spirituality and last but not the least the people . I love it when the travellers make an effort to know our country deep from within and not judge this country based on the cookie cut stereotypical portrayal from the western media .
Wow, you had those hot springs to yourself amazing great video. This is an amazing part of India to explore.
10,000 is a crazy price for that taxi ride. I've gotten taxis from Delhi to Kasol for around 7500. That guy definitely wanted to rip you off for the spiti journey too. Glad you didn't take him up on his offer.
It's all relative, blackie.
You do a wonderful job showcasing your road trip each day! Getting to see real life in India along the way. How great that you got the same hotel room. Looks comfy, nice view of the river. Definitely some synchronicity at work here ✨❤
You're still as handsome as uou were 10 years ago, travel keeps you young.
Gabe I recognized the song in your introduction immediately. It’s the same song you used in your video on the bus journey from Kathmandu to Langtang National Park in December 2019. That series is my favorite adventure! I’ve watched those videos so many times. I LOVED that song then, and I LOVED it again today. Sets the tone perfectly for this upcoming EPIC adventure. The view from your hotel balcony is incredible!!! I am so excited for this upcoming travel series!!! ❤️
9:25 I request you to do the Manali - Kunzum Pass - Kaza (Spiti Valley) as soon as possible.. Rule of Thumb is Kunzum Pass closes earlier than Baralacha La (on Manali - Leh Road). All depends on snowfall offcourse
PS: I did the Kaza - Kunzum - Manali this October 2nd week, it was just 410/- rupees on HRTC bus; in Losar village- our breakfast halt- we saw ice on road..; it was my second time doing this brutal stone road journey.
Love your videos and the intro to this video is great with cool music I am already looking up! I travelled to India in 1996 from Delhi up as far as Uttar Pradesh. Driving those mountain roads in your video brought back some memories! The nature is stunning.
I've been watching your videos for quite some time now and myyyyy god the music you choose.... Turns amazing video in to a movie like scene. Keep it up! You and other people like you inspired me to start travel and im going in Nepal next month and planing on India april next year.
That was so cool that you got to stay at the same room. I'd be stoked, too 😄
Totally loving this trip Gabriel. Right up my street!
Was also nice to see that the same hotel is still going strong 10 years later and making enough money to afford to redecorate the rooms!
1:00 nice song
15:48 nice room with plenty of windows
Cool video Gabriel! Thanks!
Congrats on 594,000, you deserve more. Wish more would hit the like, cuz there always the best.😊❤
We are so lucky to have you film all this for our entertainment! Thank you.. 😊
I would highly recommend going to Tosh and then also visiting Pulga which is nearby, both have stunning views and Pulga is very underrated.
Your discovery of India wouldn't be complete unless you visit Gangtok Sikkim and from there Lachung, Lachen, and Pelin... northeast India has lush green forests and some spectacular views with a lot of waterfalls...
I was in Gangtok earlier this year: th-cam.com/video/tHV8vL8KQz0/w-d-xo.html
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I know once you are bored with cold you would be heading to beach [Andaman] or Goa because you will have to .
I have noticed you have never visisted Konark temple in Odisha[UNESCO World Heritage Site.]. I think you should make a stop over and they also have a beach. It is very ancient Sun temple with marvelous architecture
There are very few Sun temple in Indian historical context[]and it is one of them [Sun or Surya is considered as "Deva" and has found many references in Vedas ]:
1)Multan Sun Temple, Multan, Pakistan - Believed to date back to the 5th to 6th century.
Status: No longer exists in its original form; destroyed over time during various periods of history.
2)Martand Sun Temple, Jammu and Kashmir, India - Built in the 8th century.
Status: Ruins with significant destruction.
3)Modhera Sun Temple, Gujarat, India - Built in the 11th century.
Status: Partially preserved and in use for worship.
4)Konark Sun Temple, Odisha, India - Built in the 13th century. [But is thought to be rebuilt so much before 13th]
Status: Partially preserved and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos That visit - sorry to say- did not justify North East. Just walking on roads on Gongtok is 0.1% of North East.
But agreed North East is for nature lovers. Historical architecture would be Biddhist Monasteries mostly which are not that old but peaceful. You require a bike or hire a cab, you can watch other people visits to North east.
Wow this is incredible lol it’s so nostalgic, I was there in 2018 or so and I almost forgot this place existed. It’s so quiet up there
Great video, Gabriel! I can see why you love Manikaran hot springs - what a hidden gem tucked away in the foothills of the Himalayas! FYI, the Sikhs are kind of like a hybrid or bridge between Hinduism and Islam, from what I understand, and the religion is very much ethnically identified with the inhabitants of the Punjab - the Punjabis, who also had strong militaty or warrior traditions. Living in northwest India, their region was wide open to invading peoples. Anyway, Sikhism was started by Guru Nanak in the 15th century, who is one of India's most beloved saints. They have a Holy Book, the Guru Granth Sahib, AKA the Adi Granth Sahib, which is mainly a collection of hymns. There were ten Sikh gurus, including Guru Nanak, the founder, and the tenth guru, Guru Gobind Singh, declared that after him the Guru Granth Sahib would be the guru. A Sikh temple is called a Gurudwara, or "Door to the Guru". These are the basics about Sikhism. By the way - do you know what GURU means? Gee, You Are You!
25 years since I went there on my first big trip. Looks quite built up now but still beautiful. Not sure had a road to Manikaran back then.
unbelievable, man, the same room! and with a view like this, for 13 bucks, such a great deal. take care and thanks for the video
Like Buddhism, Sikhism branched off from Hinduism. I used to practice sadhana and Kundalini yoga with a Sikh guru at a nearby ashram where eventually they gave me the name Ram Das Kaur.
I am loving your India content. So inspiring! Can't wait for more!
I see, good to know. I might go to the Punjab on this trip in which I'm sure I'll learn a lot more about it.
I dont know of any other travel vlogger who captures their audience the way Gabriel does. His knowledge of all the areas he travels to is very well researched. His love for travelling is very evident in his videos. ❤
@@GabrielTravelerVideosExcellent! I would love to learn more about it too! Wherever you go, it's always educational. 😊
As it came in the 15th century when the two major religions in the Indian subcontinent were Hinduism and Islam. So, it draws its inspiration from both religions.
@@GabrielTravelerVideosThe whole state is on fire due to stubble burning(check the satellite map with active fire). Today AQI in Delhi is over 350.
Avoid Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi for the time being. There is nothing to see other than smoke, smoke, and smoke.
Crazy amazing with the same room!
I was there 30 years ago, I'm trying to see things i remember. Must go there again!
13:15 You are right, from Manali you can take a HRTC bus to Keylong (Lahaul Valley) via Rohtang Tunnel.. Please dont miss Sissu on the way.
Many of your videos show parts of India many Indians haven't even explored. It's great, give people. Ideas of how much India offers.
I was there last year, was worried about possible damage by recent floods but looking good thankfully!
Beautiful area of India. 💜🕉🇮🇳🙏🏼
After crossing theRohtang pass you can acclimatize befor the Baralacha. Watch Backpacker Ben showing him hanging on for dear life with an oxygen bottle all the way to Leh. He didn’t have intense cold to deal with this time of year.
Good morning! ☆I like seeing Mandi again. Thanks for all the amazing views along the way. I'd love to find some great organic farm nearby there to visit and work with too. 🌲😎🌲
I love these Indian travel videos. They are great. 👍😊💙🇮🇪🇮🇳
Really loving these videos Gabriel… 😎
Hi Gabe,
Hope u are fine.
The best thing I like about yr way of travel, is that u do not Tag yrself with any pre arranged tour programme.
U move along like a free n
flexible traveller.
Happy hiking.
Waiting to see the Himalayas once again thru yr lense.
Thank u.
Food is getting better n better & the views 🔥
HI Gabe, thank you for showing us beautiful places. Chaos
Totally understand not wanting to be stuck with another person curbing your freedom in true traveller style. Loving the Himalayan scenery 🏔️ Synchronicity re room 👍🏻
A room with awesome view and only $13. Saves you money for your next Greek Islands hotels and meals.
If you get to Peru, check out the salt flats. Cool to see but also cool to experience the game of chicken with the buses going up and down on a primarily one lane dirt road
loved the first track "Time" thanks
Parvati valley has the best hashish on the planet. I know it’s not Gabriel’s thing but I’m sure if he finds a plant he’ll show us.
Safe travels brother 🙏🏻
One of the first videos I ever watched of yours you went to a hot springs in India or Nepal it was much smaller than the one you showed. A hot springs soak followed by some curry would be a perfect evening for me.
You, sir, are "the" global trekker - respect:) namaste
Wow lol such a coincidence, but amazing view, the town, the room, everything lovely . Can you let us know the song at the beginning of the video, please 🙏
It's called "Time" by Sam McCumber, there's a link below the video.

Very nice 👍 video, world 🌎 showing this video's regarding our beautiful ❤️😍 places like kashol.
Great video!! Amazing you ended up with the same room! If if was 12 bucks now I wonder how much 10 years ago? hahaha Cheers!
I just watched my video tour of the room in 2014 and annoyingly I didn't mention the price. I'm tempted to post a comment below the video criticizing myself, haha.
Sikhism pretty much came from Hinduism, a lot of similarities and Hindu gods are mentioned in Sikh's holy book and prayers. During the invasion of the Islamist conquest in India, the eldest son of every Punjabi family converted to Sikhism to fight off the radical Islamic colonizers.
These videos are awesome.
Only way to be, my thoughts absolutely... keep safe bro.
Wow, what an amazing looking part of India. Definitely going to be adding it to my (ever longer) list of adventures for India in the future.
Great video's as usual. How do you get such consistent great audio on an action cameras ?
Hi Gabe. Have you heard the story of the American adventurer Justin Shetler who disappeared in the Parvati Valley several years ago? He too was a travel influencer and adventurer like yourself and made me think of the book i recently read when you mentioned you will be in the Parvati valley. book was called lost in the valley of death which covers his life story and his time in India and specifically in the Parvati Valley area. Looking forward to your adventures there, finally get to see from your perspective of what that place is like since ive been just picturing in my head while reading the book. Love your videos! Stay safe
So what happened? Was he murdered or something? Eaten by a bear? Fell off a cliff while posing for a selfie?
@@Deadfoot-Dan He disappeared, no one knows what happened to him. his body was never discovered. There’s speculation that he was murdered and dumped into the river

Hi Gabriel, the video is good. Wow what a landscape. You are brave!
Gabe has never been cowardly
I recommend hiking up to the hot spring where Shiva meditated for years after his wife died. Ask around for the directions! Happy Travels
Great intro always good music and that sky. The pure blue and white puffy clouds. Totally gorgeous landscape 💙💙💜🌸💙💕💓🌷
4:34 Simply amazing views😍😍😍
Hi Gabriel, no doubt when traveling with someone else the trip could be a bit of a problem with different agendas. I'm sure the taxi driver's only agenda is making as much money as possible, which is understandable It's a competitive business. At some point they are going to have to widen the roads the amount of traffic is increasing I bet no study has been done on the traffic but in every developing country traffic is the main point of concern to manage the flow of traffic so not to bog it down where there's very little movement in terms of traffic it's either widen the roads or create new roads alongside or nearby so to avoid massive jams and alternate routes. The room is nice with plenty of natural light and is comfortable and the same room one oddly enough.
Tosh is amazing dude. Recommend High Sky guesthouse, might be a bit pricey this time of year, nice though. Surreal af watching a vid of you on one of your vids😂 Sikhism is awesome and well worth learning about-and I thoroughly recommend a trip to Amritsar! Best lassi, best kulcha and chole, best kulfi, awesome people. Flying out to India again in Feb and envious…happy trails dude
That is pretty crazy you ended up in the same room. $13 is an amazing price for an even more amazing view, Sikh's I believe are easily distinguishable by their headwear.
The freedom of doing your own thing is what you are known for! I completely understand your decision 😀👍
Wow, great scenery! The real deal Himalaya. I am definitely going this way next time I go to India. All the advantages you mentioned with travelling alone are the reasons I have travelled solo for 30+ years now 🙂
Loving the series so far. Funnily enough this august I went to ladakh and for some permit issues couldn’t go to the pangong lake which I wanted to. Ended up doing a 2 day road trip from Leh to manali through all those mesmerising high passes taking a mini van. You must do that once in a lifetime experience
Stunning
Come to Manali bro 🙏

To answer the intro question, I thought it was nice. Good filming work there, also.
I was gonna say edit at 1.32, but actually it was quite watchable.
The song was also kinda cool.
You could have edited everything down to half the time, including the song. But leaving it as it was suits the style of Video you make anyway.

I'm curious if you'll ever visit Northern Pakistan. The travel is rougher and there are almost no foreigners but the trekking and views are incredible.
This is an amazing part of India really nice
Manikaran means, "Jewel Seed" in Sanskrit, I believe.
parvati valley in kasol is known for parties mostly in the month of may and june when there are lot of israeli travellers roaming around i was there last year in the month of april and absoulte loved it.
Very Nice. Kind of Netflix series type. Keep it up.
Delightful.
Indian Vlogs are in different league..
I have to agree 100%❤

Sikhism was created in many ways as a means of healing the division between Hindus and Muslims, and its first leader Guru Nanak was seen as a holy man by both communities. When he died, the Hindus wanted to cremate his body while the Muslims wanted to bury it. The dispute threatened to undo all the unifying work done in his lifetime, so his followers left his body under a sheet for a night while they worked out what to do. In the morning, his body was gone, so they cut the sheet in two: half was burned and the other half buried. What I love most about Sikhism is its deep pragmatism. In any other religion, it would be said that his body had been removed by God, etc. but my understanding is that Sikhs just say that no one knows what happened. It’s a very grounded religion.
Very interesting, thanks for the info.
sooo beautiful!
Nice video. Manikaran is associated with Sikhism which is an Indian religion formed out of Hinduism. It has nothing to do with islam. Hope you get more information about sikhism. Looking forward to your visit to Spiti valley.
Nice music. Good morning from Arizona. 4 AM 57 degrees.
I've been in that region so many times but I never stayed in Manikaran.
The Shikh religion might be more described as a philosophy than a pure religion with converts from both the Hindu and Muslim religion. I have never been to Manikaran. Possibly in December. Yes it will be colder. I will be doing some work in Manali and Spiti Valley. Avalanche education courses in the Spiti Valley in February. Great video and highly educational. I'm in Kathmandu in my hotel room trying to regain the confidence to "fart". I'm definitely not there yet. ??? When in Vashisht check out the yoga studio by Rajat Thakur. It's outstanding and his teaching is spot on. I apologize for my ramblings!!! 🙏

At their core, Hinduism and Sikhi are complementary religions. The basic tenets are more or less the same- dharma, karma, bhakti, moksha/mukti, maya, the cycle of birth and death etc.; albeit ways of worship and perceiving God are different.
👍👍👍 + music 🎶 👍
I love that you returned to the same hotel room by complete coincidence. Sikhi is not related to Islam or Hinduism. They believe in one God and they believe in equality for all. Sikhs believe any religion or path that helps you connect with one God is a righteous one. They also believe in protecting humanity and making the world better for everyone. It’s a very interesting religion and I highly recommend reading up on it!
I am surprised to see foreigners traveling on Indian roads despite knowing how dangerous the accident fatality rate in India is. If you did not know, India has the highest number of road travel related deaths in the world due to poor safety standards on everything from expressways to village roads.
What's up with India lately. Several of the travel channels i watch are currently in India, including Itchy Boots, MAV TV snd Madly Rover. Are Bald and Harald going there next??
