Honestly they could have changed the world, but sadly the events that the girl from the past had to live through turned her into a psychopath. Without the ability to empathize plus the lack of ability to care about what they did to hurt someone, she let one little thing turn her against a good friend.
Sure, she helped save the future girls father, but undid her work for the sake of petty vengeance over a snowball of events where she felt cheated. The future girl saved her from being killed by her stepmother, without her the past girl would be dead and wouldn't be able to experience all that she had.
Also, it's kind of her own fault for holding onto her stepmothers massacred remains. Had she just tossed them out or buried them, none of what went on would have happened.

Koreans also become 1 year older on New Years' Day, instead of their birthday. they still celebrate their birthdays, but they're considered a year older on 1st Jan instead of on their birthday.
so if you were born on 31st Dec, you'd be 2 years old on the next day lmao. it's also why most kids in korea have the option to enrol in school a year earlier. nowadays most systems in korea (like courts, hospitals, etc) use international ages (aka the current age system that almost everyone knows of), and korean ages are more of a cultural thing and isn't enforced in the country itself but is still used extensively as it has been the norm for decades.

Some of her dramas and movies includes "Sisiphus: the Myth", "Memories of Alhambra", "The Heirs", "Doctors", "The call", "Miracle in cell no. 7", "Heartstrings", " Hayate, the combat Butler" ," You're Beautiful" Flower Boy next door", "Pinocchio" and many more. sksdkffds but this movie is literally a rip off of "the caller" from 2011 which is an american film. The synopsis even states that it's based off of "the caller". The details and plot are exactly the same. This movie is still good, but don't act like its original or any better than films made from another country. No need to shit on one country to uplift another one. There are great films made from different countries every year. So many amazingly talented directors, writers, actors/actresses, producers, etc.

the movie actually did not end there, it has more to it... a major twist... in the past, young-sook actually manages to survive and kill the mother, and kidnaps seon again... this happens coz when the past is changed with young-sook finding the murder weapon, in the future the phone now belongs to her only... and hence when the call comes from past, her future self picks it up and warns her about everything that had happened in past....

I've seen the movie and its really cool but what vexed me a bit was that how here the future timeline was imagined to be parallel for the plot (the past and future running along together) but was also imagined to be strictly linear at the same time to show direct consequences. If anything changes in the past, the outcome can change is gazillion different ways but here it had only one direct definite outcome here. If dad was saved in the past at that moment, then he was alive and well. Dude, he could have died later in the middle by some other way resulting with him not being with them in the present.
If the strawberry dude was killed in the past, he immediately disappears.. maybe after his death someone else took over and is growing strawberries and he would be with them in the present! Maybe this new guy stopped with strawberries and is growing pears and so, everybody is having pears in the present. The outcome could be literally anything!!
But I guess it's for simplifying the plot.
Also, the last twist doesn't makes sense. How is a dead woman in the past calling from future to warn her past self!?

Nice job for the recap. The actual ending (last 30 seconds) was unbelievable (and not in a good way....)

Reminds of the movie "Moments of love" a 2006 film from the Philippines, when the future tells the past in the phone about the former president that will die in plane crash, although there's no brutal happenings but a love story.
