      I'm always interested to hear where individuals are putting their focus during meditation- whether it be on their breathing, body sensation, point of vision, a koan, or nothing at all.
      I typically start a meditation session with focus completely on the ambient sound around me. It's the quickest way I've found to halt the internal dialogue or daydreaming we're so fond of. This eventually flows into that beautiful sense of calm and presence, but not always! Haha, anyway thanks for replying and I hope you enjoy your day!

Have had some logistical issues with posture (legs falling asleep, and back discomfort), but I want to work through that so that I can do at least 20 mins. daily and hopefully work up to 40. Really appreciate your clear instructions, blessings to you.

Also my ankles hurt a little when I sit in half lotus. I actually bought your Desk Posture program, is it a good choice? Thanks!

    • @GotROM
      @GotROM  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mostly you need flexible hips and good upper body posture. Good strength is not required if your 1.) technique is good 2.) hip mobility is good 3.) upper body posture is good. I'd recommend more well-rounded hip mobility (like in my 45-day "Deep Squats" program) to compliment the upper body posture work from the Desk Posture Therapy program.

      Yes, I want to ask you something else if you would want to answer:
      If we have to let things go and don’t judge things, if we have to let go of the concept of good or bad, better or worst, if we have to stop this separation of mind, how can we know how to choose and act in this existence, how can we know how to live, what should guide us through life?

      Intuition is simply the unconscious judgment of the mind, it is more true than thinking yes, but still based on separation of good/bad, right or wrong

    • @abednegomosessuryanda2950
      @abednegomosessuryanda2950 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@CapitanTavish I think we can let go of the concept of good or bad, and still live a purposeful life. The key is in the word "purposeful". Yes, you have to know your purpose. Robert Greene called this as "Life's Task" in his book Mastery, it's something that you strive to do in life, the skill(s) that you want and will hone to the level of mastery.
      Firstly, all of us should know what our Life's Task is. To know this, honest self-examination is necessary. We could revisit our childhood, and remember what things excited us the most, what filled us with wonder, curiosity, and energy? What seemed so magical to us that it took our attention, hypnotized us, that hours could passed by without us noticing? Another thing that we can do is to ask this question: If I don't have to work for another day in my life, what would I do?
      We should do things that will help us achieve our Life's Task. For example, if someone's Life's Task is to compose musical masterpieces, they will take appropriate steps that lead them closer to their goal. Their actions, attention, time, and energy will be dominated more by the things that they need to do to get closer to their ultimate goal. We would surround ourselves with similar minded people.
      There is more to be said about morality, but this is enough for now.
