I just installed the K&N series 77 on my 2023 PB with the 3.5. It reuses most of the factory cold air box. I couldn't be happier with the fit.
$350 on amazon.
I went with a PMAS. I'm very happy with the fit and finish of their product.

I see a S&B for $349 on American trucks website it’s oiled with cleanable cotton. I just got a 2023 5.0 f150 I’m putting the borla atak on it. I’m just trying too find a good intake system on it. Will the S&B I mentioned be good or is there ones out that are better but higher in price

the box is just supposed to keep water from splashing onto the filter. I don't think it needs to be airtight. I noticed the reviews on this intake were really high on a few websites. I think your review is misleading
I thought the rubber throttle body connector had a different diameter on either side

OMG I was saying the same thing, I was asking myself why the hell do I see daylight through the air box.Cold air. I don’t think so with the hood down. Shame,, You are spot on with the video, great job.. but even the s&b I bought also does not seal that well around the intake tube, more daylight and the cover is also a poor fit. You think they would of made the hole a wee bit smaller. Lol

Does it really matter cause some cold air intakes don’t even have covers
From a performance standpoint I will agree that it doesn't matter. The issue is the price paid for the quality of workmanship received. In this case the workmanship perception is below average in my opinion due to the engineering flaws of this product and when compared to the premium price paid, I do not recommend this product.
'22 went with a bigger throttle body is why. They sold you an 2018 kit not 2022. S&B sells both.

I just purchased the roush cold air for 2023 f150 5.0l, this is an expensive piece of plastic that is poorly designed. Don't purchase. I wish I would have seen this before my purchase.
That throttle body rubber is made for 2018-20 engines

i agree i was not thrilled with the cold air intake kit from roush to the point where i thought i had the wrong kit or my kit was faulty, i emailed roush and this was the response that i got. needless to say disappointed and dissatisfied would be an understatement

While it may look and seem like there may be defects, this is how the system is designed to be made and setup, as far as why they went this route or the reason the engineers left the spacing with the setup, I am not sure, however this has been the case on the air intakes for both Mustang and F-150 models dating back quite a few years, and our engineers work directly with Ford to one make sure it doesn't void warranty, but two lives up to their standards and is proven to work well with the vehicle and perform at its peak, which it has been proven to do. Aesthetically, I will agree it looks as though maybe it should be closed off or would seem that way, but it is how the kit is designed and has worked for many, many years with no issues, so it is sounding like yours is how it should be.
