- We took my 2021 f150 5.0 to the shop today for a before and after to see if just adding an intake would increase horsepower.

Beautiful truck, I have a 22 5.0 FX4 pkg. Love the way these trucks rev. Did you have to put a vacuum hose cap on the intake? I saw a couple reviews saying so? Thank you!👍🏻

Looks and sounds good. Great numbers to start with! When you rolled off the dyno I heard creaking. Was that the truck or something in the garage? I have the same noise in my 2020 and am struggling to locate it.
The traction bars were/are preloaded.
Check the leaf spring isolators
I have the mid level headlights that are Led looks like 4 square sections instead of 2 like yours. Do you know what's the difference? Mine are pretty bright. Yours looks cleaner though
Just the appearance. Output is pretty darn similar
Need to put a JLT oil separtor on that 5.0 works really good keeps the oil from going back into the intake

I bought the Roush cold air intake for my ‘21 Coyote F150 and it woke her right up, glad to see some good numbers to compare with! Getting a cat back dual stainless system with Flowmaster super 44’s in 2 weeks so I can’t wait to hear and feel the combo work!!
What’s up with them headlights?? I need a set of those blacked out units! I’ve been scouring the net like crazy to find a set of full LED smoked heads & tails

@@miguelmedina5785 I loved the intake alone, the sound and throttle response was definitely noticeable, especially if you catch the 3-4 shift. I’ve had my custom stainless true duals and Flowmaster Super 44’s a few weeks now and she sounds mean as hell!! On both counts I’d recommend 100%!!

Where and what type of CAI did you use?
The only one I could find for a 2021 5.0 was Roush, which is just the one for the 2020 with an extra clamp and a plug thrown in the box so you can piece together their 2020 cai to work on a 2021!
it literally says in the thumbnail of the video it's a PMAS lol. and yeah. all the 15-20 intakes will work and you'll just need to plug the extra opening. all of which is mentioned in the video

@@MrBoom50 Speaking of the channel, I just used your grill removal video to remove the grill in about 10 minutes. Getting it color matched. Definitely scrubbing the channel.

@@MrBoom50 I could not figure out how to remove the washer mechanism from the emblem. I removed the Torx bolts, but when I pull on the module it’s springing back like it’s going to break.
@@subimark3543 pull it out until it's out all the way. Stick a flat head on one side and pop it loose. When you go to reassemble, do the same thing. But in reverse

So that was the 'no tune' required PMAS correct ?
Correct there isn't a tune required version for 15+ trucks as their speed density, not MAF.
That said with a tune(when they become available and the truck can rev higher it will show even more gain!
@@MrBoom50 Ahhh gotcha. I have a tune required PMAS on my 2017 Mustang GT. Solid 2/10ths over the stock airbox, no other changes other than scaling the maf tables.
@@cS-nf2dg yeah, with a tune and higher revving I think it would have done a little better as well. But for literally no tune.. I'm not mad. All things considered

Why was the truck dyno'd with the hood up?
Surprised to see a performance company ask a question like this.. but to answer it, for ambient or close to ambient temps to the filter, just like it would see while driving. It also helps with heat dissipation, even if it's negligible.

@@timothyryan2847 Airflow at speed is much higher compared to a couple of shop fans. Having the hood open would help offset the difference between the two. Now that's covered what's really the point though? Your just looking for consistency so you can read the differences in power. Now that im finished with this comment. I bet he looses power with the hood closed compared to factory.

@@MrBoom50question- it looks like the dyno stops at 5500 rpm. I have a ‘23 Tremor 5.0 that pulls to 7k. I would assume it would have been more hp if it ran to the redline right?

It’s actually quite relevant. Airflow is drastically changed. Same reason JLT only dynoed with hood up and disabled comments on their video
@@dcdec90 the hood up makes zero difference if all pulls are made the same way.. jlt more than likely disabled the comments to keep simpletons from posting the same dumb question. Common sense says that there isn't any air flow on a stationary vehicle and having the hood up allows for slight heat dissipation.. you know. What happens when you're actually doing 60-100mph and air is actually flowing through the grille/engine compartment.
Your truck reminds me of the old Lightning. So skip the small bolt ons and pony up 10k for the Blower!
