    I understand the esthetic value of the cool looking (cold air intake) but the new set up it just as cool.. (Fresh cool air) so other then that, and the price ! what difference did it make ?

    Does anyone know why are there gaps around tube and the cold air box? I would think warm/hot engine air would get in.

    • @07slowbalt
      @07slowbalt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Many brands are this way and ive been trying to figure that out for the past week. I believe its because the box is mounted solid and when the engine flexes in the motor mounts that tube needs a place to slide. A fixed tube would probably break. Thats my thought on it all. Air will take the path of least resistance (im in HVAC) so i could only assume the open port by the hood as well as being pushed in during moving speeds would be the path the air takes 90+% of the time

      @BigTv8power 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@07slowbalt That is the best explanation I have heard so far. Thanks!

      @07slowbalt 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BigTv8power no problem thats what the car community is for. I dont want to void my warranty with a tune so this isnt the best option for me. I think im going to do the s&b oiled cai for $299 and later go with a borla s-type dual exhaust. Its under this stage 2 power in cost. Ill probably only see 10-15 whp but i think it sounds and looks better than this rousch package. Just curious as to what your considering?

    • @kurnx
      @kurnx 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would think the engine air is pretty stagnant, and with the intake being at the front of the hood maybe it's creating a positive pressure in the box? I've been looking at this kit a minute and wondering that myself.... The factory filter box doesn't have the same sort of gaps

    • @07slowbalt
      @07slowbalt 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kurnx i ended up going with the oiled s&b cai. Its a solid piece for the money and combined with a borla exhaust ive seen anywhere from 1-2 mpg increase. The intake definitely added some growl/suction noise for those that think otherwise.

    My 2018 F-150 with the 5.0 V8 has a wire that runs along the outside of the back of the bottom part of the stock air box. The wire is attached at three points and you can see the three empty holes on the outside of the stock air box when the top is removed in this video. One of them is very difficult to remove and I am not sure I want to try because the new Roush intake does not provide mounting hole points for the wire, so it would just dangle. What in the world?

    Just bought the ROUSH Cold Air and Tune as my truck (2019 F150 ROUSH "Offroad Edition" came with the Exhaust already.
    I am not impressed with the following:
    1. I used some Black gasket maker to seal the huge gaps that were on the airbox housing going to the stock air tube going to the front of the hood.
    2. Where the ROUSH tube connects to the filter on the airbox there is also a HUGE gap that if this is a true 'cold air" intake they should have provided either a rubber gasket for this or designed the airbox differently.
    For the almost $900.00 and the ROUSH name I guess I expected more....

      I have a 2019 Roush Off Road Edition too, without the Roush supercharger, but I have put on the Roush cold air intake. I was just curious to see what you think of the Roush tune. Was the Roush tune worth it, in your opinion?

    What a terrible design Roush did on the 18-19 cat back. Ya, lets use a leaf spring bolt to double as an exhaust hanger.....So if you were to bolt this up to a lowered truck using drop shackles,,,, good luck.....
