    What is the width and length of the velvet fabric (and velvet cord) for regular and xl ?

    Such a great tutorial, thank you for sharing. I started making scrunchies a few months ago and love it. One really handy tip I found was to thread the elastic through the fabric tube BEFORE you pull it all through using your bodkin. It makes the whole process so much quicker. xx

    Great job on this tutorial video. Your instructions are clear and concise. I also think it is a great idea to sell packs/kits of your scrunchies but maybe you want to sell them with different fabrics than the ones you sell so each brand line is unique..

    What length do you do for xl and regular size? 17 inches length? 7x17 for xl and 4.5 x 17 for regular?

    • @TaylahRose
      @TaylahRose  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Full wof for xls (so whatever the length of the fabric is, it differs between different fabric bases) and half of that for the regulars. Can be anywhere from 22-29 inches

    Hi Taylah...I was wondering if you could show how you fold your fabrics and cut them? I love how they look so neat. I have a tall metal rack I keep my fabrics on, and it really needs a makeover, and to be folded better so I can see what I have... So anyways ya If you could show how you do this that would be awesome! I'm from the United States, and not famiiar with centermeters, so if you could say the width of your elastics in inches that would be awesome...I know there are so many out there, and I have no clue what size to get and buy...Thank you so much for your talent, and videos...

    It's soo beautiful! I could not have my own business I'd be far too stressed and overwhelmed!
    Hats off to you!!
    However... I have a 3 year old daughter and spend ALL my money on bows and scrunchies and clips.. So making my own would be soo much cheaper!
    Just a quick question, not that it matters but I'm 34 and have NEVER used a sewing machine in my Life!
    It looks hard and scary..
    Could you please do a tutorial for ULTRA beginners on how to set it up and sew?
    I reckon you would get plenty of views and people would watch it multiple times to get the hang of it!

    I used Rayon from Spotlight for XL. So far it's ok but they do crease A LOT. I have tried using a pretty stretchable velvet also from spotlight but it was terrible.. Used the same WOF as my other XL and whenever I try to sew it, it would curls up. The overall look was terrible too. I like the double cotton ones but not a fan of a few polycottons. They make the scrunchies look flat and somehow made the patterns dull. Duckbill fabric is great for bows and headbands. Btw this is just my personal opinions. The rayons sell really well though for me.

    Loved your tutorial. I never had a bodkin and only a teeny weeny safety pin which kept coming undone and pricking me😄 so I just improvised and used a craft popsicle stick, cut a slit in one end and slipped the elastic into that and it stayed in place really well when pushing through the fabric. Also I find in the upholstery fabric section at Spotlight they have a lot of really heavily reduced bolts of fabric which are really good value and they are also generally wider as well.

    Hi Taylah, is quilters cotton goof for making scrunchies? I have a ton of it so would be great to use it up, but was wondering if it’s what you use? Thanks

      The (WOF) width of fabric is the length for xl and half of the wof is the length I use for regular. All fabrics have different WOF which is why I said wof in the video and not a specific measurement. Usually the fabrics I work with are around 60inch/150cm for xl and 29inch for reg
