- I’m back with a little day in the life of sewing XXL Scrunchies for a living 😉 I just wanted to share what a very realistic Saturday of ONLY sewing scrunchies looks like. I try to prioritize at least one day a week to only sewing. My other days are filled with packaging, social media creation, draining, customer service, purchasing supplies, little things that run the business like taxes, organizing, cleaning, & so much more. I’ll be sharing more vlogs about all of these things if you liked this video!

I once sewn masks with fabric which has FLYING FIBERS ALL AROUND THE PLACE and I got an allergic reaction. So before I finished the whole batch I wore a mask.
You make me want to finally start my business. Just having second thoughts since I'm still thinking of working a full time job 😭
Thank-you for sharing this! I realized how important it is to stay safe while sewing and inhaling those fibres could really affect me long term. ALSO YOU WANT TO FINALLY START YOUR BUSINESS! I started off my mural career while still working full time at a marketing agency. I would come home at 6pm and work on my mural artwork from 7pm-2am and then work my 9-5 job and pursue my murals more on the weekend. So long story short, I started my business while still working full time elsewhere and then I knew it was time to fully focus on my business as I grew it! YOU GOT THIS LOVE!! One step at a time, you could start a small aspect of it daily and before you know it you will wonder, "why didn't I start this sooner?"

Pre-pandemic, I had a full time and freelance like you. Eventually, I decided to focus on my freelance but THE PANDEMIC WAS ANNOUNCED right after I gave my resignation. Now I'm having opportunities again both in full time and freelance/business but I'm so torn whether I would want to just do ONE thing this time.

I was so torn, before I had so many freelance clients, I was working at an art gallery AND also as a social media manager in-office for another brand. I was doing so many things but a few years later. tons of podcasts later, and reading about inspiring success stories I found my true success came from focusing on only one thing. My mindset is if I focus on the ONE thing (right now it would be XXL SCRUNCHIES) then I decrease my risk of failure and ramp up my chances of success. A phrase that has been stuck in my mind from listening to Rob Dial's mindset mentor podcasts that "if you try really hard and are training, for one thing, you are going to be really good at that one thing!"

I haven't been following you for very long. But I must tell you...I use your story as a motivation for myself very often.
I keep reminding myself that you grew your business and have 11 people working with you and grew to the size where you need a warehouse from focusing on one item...a scrunchie (I know there is clothing too, but scrunchies seem to be central).
Sometimes it's so easy to minimize what we do, and I am from a place where people look down on creative work so much. But you inspire me. Thank you for sharing. And your family's support is everything

I make scrunchies too. I use a serger machine for everything but closing the small opening. I find it has a much more finished look, cuts down on threads sticking out everywhere, etc. I was watching your videos and was surprised to see you don't use a serger.

Loved this. Love how your parents are involved too 🥰 . You should consider getting a HEPA Air Purifier so it will minimize some of the fabric dust in the room that settles(even if you still have to wear your mask while sewing) 💕

There is elastiglue which is used in factories.. You should try it.. If you already do..then ignore it🙂❤️
We have tried it before actually! We found after some trials that triple knotting the elastics was the best and most secure 🥰 Thank you so much for the suggestion!

😀 I was making scrunchies yeeeears ago for myself. They weren't as large back then. I love the fun size you make. I'm happy to see they're back again and that you're doing so well. Ride this wave as long as possible ❣️ Be sure to set up your money funds for your future while you have a good opportunity. They did go out of style for a while so I'm glad you have the clothing line as well.
I do have a question or two because I'm going to put some in a shop in town. Have you ever had any problem with any returns? Do you worry about edges fraying inside from use? We don't have any issues at all with returns and we haven't had any notes or comments regarding the fraying. My favourite fabric is probably our thick velvets or corduroy's as they are just fun to make and are so full and XXL! My least favourite would be satins and that's only due to the fact of the strings that get everywhere when we make them lol!😂💕
Please make a tutorial on how you measure and do scrunchies 🥺❤ been watching all your videos even 3yrs ago💝 I am sooooo inlove with your business!🙈
