    Just made one after work with some cute halloween print cotton I had. Never made anything like it before! Wasn’t convinced i had my hairtie inside the scrunchie but trusted the proces with method 2 and made a gorgeous item! Thank you

    Your first burrito method is fantastic!
    I love how the seam is on the short side. I sew mine like your second method but add the elastic after sewing.
    I am going to switch to your first method for adding elastic 🥰

      You can also just leave opening on the short side and stitch with elastic in between. Both ways are fast. First not as fiddly. Thanks for watching. Cheers😊

    I can't believe that I followed the first method and made a satin scrunchie for myself. 😮 The fun fact is that I know 0 things about sewing except for the basic straight stitch using the machine. A proof that your tutorial is crystal clear ❤

    Hi Angela, great video! Very straightforward and easy to follow. I have a question though. I been making some scrunchies with satin material that have a slight stretch with burrito method but I’ve been getting some excess material at the turning gap, one side a bit longer than the other, therefore I can’t close it neatly. Do you have any tips of how can I resolve this issue? Am I stretching the fabric too much when sewing it? I don’t have this problem when using with cotton. I’m a novice sewist. Thank you for your help, Angela 🙏

    • @NotchesSewing
      @NotchesSewing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Christine, thanks for watching. Make sure you have cut the fabric accurately and add notches on both sides of the fabric so that you can match them up as you are sewing. Or hold together with clips. You are either stretching the fabric or the feed dogs underneath are grabbing the fabric while the presser foot is pushing the fabric. Stretchy fabrics and satins are trickier to handle and sew. It gets better with practice.😊

      @@NotchesSewing Hi Angela thank you so much for the tips. Will using walking foot on satin fabric help sewing it more even?

    • @NotchesSewing
      @NotchesSewing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not necessary to use walking foot. Generally used for thicker fabrics. Just match your notches on each side as you sew and you should be ok. Happy sewing!

    • @lisaboutin5556
      @lisaboutin5556 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SeamsPerfectbyChristine - I think a walking foot would help you. My machine does the same. The feed dogs sometimes change the fabric length because they feed the bottom fabric and the top doesn’t catch up. Try increasing presser foot pressure first, though. That may be all you need. Also try a stitch specifically for stretch fabrics. Hope this helps.

    • @NotchesSewing
