    The keychain wristlets twist because of the direction they're sewn. I think you have to sew each side from the same direction. Meaning, if you're sewing down one side, across the bottom, and back up the other side (making a U shape), it will twist.

    • @alikay57
      @alikay57 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Exactly this! I make handbags and when I first started out, I would go down one side of the bag strap topstitching turn the corner and go back up the other side, they always would twist. A woman in one of my sewing groups told me they had to be sewn in the same direction..sure enough, no more twisting. :)

    I don’t use glue on my wristlets. And instead of using interfacing I used craft felt as it’s thicker. By using this I didn’t need the glue. And after a year of making and selling them I’ve never had anyone complain of them breaking or coming apart 😊

    I have never seen a single person do this, but I learned that sewing straighter is much easier when I have my left hand in front of my machine (guiding the material to the needle), and my right hand through the back to keep it straight. I realize that might seem dangerous to some people but it’s really not. I never wear sleeves when sewing and I’ve done this for 15 years.

    For better results, remove the key ring from the fob. You add it back when done. Without the key ring, the fob will fit better into the plyers. I like to use the plyers to squeeze the fob together just a little bit. When you put your fabric into the fob, try to tuck the fabric all the way in and pressed onto the spikes. Now you can slip the entire thing into your plyers. You only want to use the plyers with the top end of the fob into the plyers. Don't squeeze on the sides. You will dent the fob too much. Once it's secure, add the key ring back on. I make tons of these with vinyl.

    I love watching your videos as you are so real and so friendly.
    I use e6000 glue for jewellery. Hot tip : open the glue and pour some out on a clear plastic bag and close the lid. It will last a lot longer that way and won’t dry out.
    Use a toothpick or Icecream stick to add the glue to the fabric and let it dry for a minute or 2. If you take the keyring part off it will be easier to close ❤

      @@TaylahRose I had commented on some other videos before but don't know if you saw them. I was wondering if I could send you some scrunchies that I make myself, along with an organizer and jean purse. Plus my new lanyards I'm making

    You don't sew straight? I thought to sell fabric items the seams all had to be almost perfectly straight. 🤯 That's why I hadn't sold anything at a fair cuz my seams be crooked when closing my scrunchies. My family and friends kept saying no one is looking that close. 😔
