I just pulled my radio/ tape deck out a while back.. I had something draining my Battery..I got sick of having to bring my battery to Advanced Auto Parts for charging over night... Finally got a decent batt charger..but I still disconnect my Battery now..I think it was the radio clock and cuz I didn't drive every day..
There are some pretty easy, and non-invasive ways to find the circuit that's drawing current. Search for South Main Auto on TH-cam and he has quite a few videos on how to find those 👍🏼
You should replace those back speakers.. I bet you have something better laying around.. I use old house speakers.. Throw an amp in there! Blow those speakers up! Then you can UPGRADE AGAIN!
👍🏼👍🏼 Maybe some day. I actually don't have any other speakers that will fit in there. In fact, I don't really have any speakers at all. Btw, house speakers are 8 ohm and car speakers are 4 ohm, so you'll have lower performance by using the house speakers. 👍🏼👍🏼
I suggest you use the right ohm House speakers in a vehicle application especially in newer than the 90's aftermarket stereo system with 35 or more watts rms per channel especially if you are using a amplifier because if you don't you can blow out the speaker output channel in the stereo or the final drive amplifier in the stereo and maybe even the amplifier channel I have learned all of this the hard way,.
That's, bud. It's definitely better than nothing, kinda 😆😆 It's unbelievably cheap but it doesn't sound too bad IRL. The Jeep really doesn't need much since I probably won't use the stereo very often.
Thanks!! I didn't know if the stereo was even going to work so I didn't bother to use any hardware on the wires. I'll probably solder the wires and use shrink tube sometime. I might get a better stereo for it.
You need the Chrysler and Dodge stereo installation kit from like O'Reilly's or Walmart or AutoZone parts store, the same one for the 92-96 dodge Dakota truck?!
@@HFG Thanks anyway. I bought one from mopar.... the cost was outrageous, but I really needed it. I installed a new stereo and speakers in the xj today and headliner's next. Your videos have been a lot of help. Keep up the great work!
I used to have a Roadmaster deck work some of the time haha. Great vid brother!
😆😆 Thanks brother!!! 👊🏼👊🏼
This looks about like the system my Grand Prix is getting
Better than nothing :)
Yee Haw amigo!!
Thanks, buddy. I hope all is well at IHG!

It's crazy how the guts inside that radio is hardly nothing..
For sure. Without the mechanical CD drive assembly, and the extremely low quality of this unit, there just isn't anything in there. Pretty wild.
Hey Half. Good video. I guess that radio is better than nothing. Or is it. Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍

Awesome that you got it working!
Why didn’t you use the fancy butt splices that you have in your kit of electrical connectors to wire up the harness?
Thanks!! I didn't know if the stereo was even going to work so I didn't bother to use any hardware on the wires. I'll probably solder the wires and use shrink tube sometime. I might get a better stereo for it.
I never would have guessed that the back speakers would even work and sound decent..
You and me both :)

I just searched Amazon for the connectors. They have a better selection
Hey, been enjoying your videos! 96 XJ owner here. Just curious, do you still have that cup holder? If so, would you wanna sell it?
Thanks. Yeah I still have the cup holder, but I use it all the time so I don't really want to sell it. Sorry.

Right on. Thanks. I'll check it out 👍🏼
Or you could just get the right connectors. This hertz to watch😢
I built the whole truck out of junk. I'm not too worried about those connectors :)
