Yooo.... I'm going to try that exact head unit on my 2000 Ram 1500 I was hoping I could get it to sit flush almost. You know the old Chrysler double DIN head units 6.2 looks like it's just about the exact same size as one of them.
It sounds good. This jeep definitely needs some new speakers though. Its running some Polk 2 ways from about 15 years ago. What radio are you running? Are you planning on swapping?
@@CRNKind i was looking pretty hard at the style receiver you chose but wasnt sure how it would line up. the hvac control swap is super clean btw. i ended up doing a $19 amazon receiver w/ app control and a tablet in the dash
Thank you! This install took a lot of effort to get it so I'm happy with it. There is definitely a place and demand for the newer tablet style radios. I have already installed a couple for customers. The biggest complaint from the low end tablet radios is the bad connectivity to the phones and poor operating system on the radio. This Joying is definitely on the higher end of the tablet style radios at around $350. but is also better in terms of connectivity, features and performance. Theres a place to put a SIM card if you wanted it to act as its own cell phone and even a GPS for finite placement in google maps.
Here's a link to the joying website: www.joyingauto.com/universal-car-radio/single-din-car-stereo.html?p=1 Looks like they don't sell the 6.2 anymore. The closest might be the 7"
