This level crossing is located on the Pakenham line, which sees EMUs and DMUs pass through it. As of the time of publishing, work is underway and nearing completion on grade separation at this level crossing, along with 2 other level crossings nearby, being Main St and Racecourse Rd, Pakenham; and a new Pakenham station.
The crossing equipment includes:
- Westinghouse Incandescent Lights
- Westinghouse LED Lights
- Westinghouse Crossarms
- 2 General Signals Type 2 E-Bells
- Westinghouse Boom Gate mechanisms
- 2 Unmarked Bases, and 1 MK&H Base
As of publishing, this crossing has been listed as one of the level crossings to be removed by the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), and is in the middle of grade seperation. Trains are set to run overhead in an elevated rail corridor over McGregor Rd, Main St, and Racecourse Rd. This project includes a new Pakenham Station, and a short electrification extension to a newly built Pakenham East Station. This is planned to be finished by this year (2024).
