This is true. When I first installed the dev version, I was stoked. But it was literally a Windows 10 revamp. Today, it is its own Windows, but it still lacks many features that make it complete, its like COD they leave it unfinished and to desire more.

Not really...im an IT admin, its not hard to support upgrades like it used to be. Windows 11 was a very easy upgrade from 10. 12 should be just as easy.

Windows 11 still uninstalls my wifi drivers and it's known for uninstalling AMD graphics drivers. Me and others still use 10 as it's not very broken, I have moved my laptop over to linux mint and am intending to switch everything once win10 is no longer supported

Windows sometimes is snappier and it's simpler to use for some stuff, but it bombed itself 2 times randomly (no recent updates, installations, or whatever, it just died) so i just dualboot whenever i need windows

Best windows version ever. If you don't like something like the change to the menu, you can customize it either through a third party tool or if you know enough programming, yourself. The changes to the Windows kernel make it harder to hack if you follow Microsoft's recommendations for setting up security. It far exceeds Windows 10, however it cannot run on older hardware because it doesn't support TPM 2.0 which is needed for the added security. Windows 12 from what I have seen in pictures makes more changes to the UI, looking more like the MAC OS in certain areas.

There is not a lot that you can do on a computer today that you couldn’t do 10 years ago. And if most people are happy with their computer’s UI and features, why change it every 3 years? Even now to permanently get acces to the old fully functional right click you need to get trough so many unnecessary loops, for most people its just a more tedious and worsened experience caused by the flawed "streamlining" wich its only consideration is "people don't know how to do stuff and computers will get better" so they don't care about using twice as much power or user time that it actually is needed.

they shipped 7 in 2009 to replace vista when vista sales lagged because of the new hardware requirements and because vista had some backwards compatability issues with xp programs. Whats different now is they are only upping the anti on hardware requirements in 11 and 12.

I think that Microsoft is going to Starr releasing on a 3 year schedule now. It appears that Microsoft is writing new kernel code in Rust, which it great for consumers. Rust is now being used in Linux also. Writing in Rust is much safer because it's compiler and libraries make it so memory is automatically released, and the pointers cleaned up. This means less memory leaks, which cause the OS to be unstable. I also believe as they have fully integrated server Linux code into the OS they are writing some internals in Linux which will speed up processing
This is gonna be like the vista incident. Where it releases too early, then it runs into lots of problems, leading it to be the most hated os. But that is just my assumption, and this might be the major upgrade and lead people to love it.
honestly i fell win 11 loooks cleaner. everything was cluttered and unorganised in 10. The tabs in file explorer and in notepad makes it so much easier to navigate also
windows 11 is much cleaner because of the update windows bottom bar, new desktop management system. But file explorer got nerfed man. The home page of file explorer was good on windows 10 but they removed it.
microsoft actually planned on releasing another windows version in 2004, but this got delayed because developers were to optimistic. since windows 3.0, there has been a major windows version every 3 years. 1992 - 1995 - 1998 - 2001 (vista gap) 2006 - 2009 2012 - 2015 (windows 10 gap) 2021 - 2024, so on and so forth.

Have you already forgotten the push to get people into Windows 10? They pretty much made it opt out instead of opt in, so that people would upgrade completely by accident.
My suggestion is that they should add support for animated wallpaper in windows 12 so that we don't need another application (wallpaper engine) for it.Using the windows 11, loving the smooth UI.

they got to add the latest telemetry features they couldn't hardcode into the previous windows and have a inbuilt ai that reports everything you do back to Microsoft servers.
AI gives them the excuse to record every click and every app option, every window ... because that is literally how AI learns. (and coincidently they can sell that info to advertisers, political parties, the government etc...)

Linux is awesome but from a programmers viewpoint, Windows 11 is by far the most stable. The windows libraries are solid and I haven't had nearly the issues that I had with Windows 10, but it is much better than the disaster thar was Windows 7. I lost hundreds of hours of billable hours trying to program around the problems in the libraries and the programming application interface ( API's)
If only there was the option to change the skin of Windows to any version you wanted, it would've been amazing. I would still use the Windows XP theme.
not until penguins can auto HDR ,every major distro + desktop environment has a compatibility layer like WINE and flatpack is banished to the shadow realm. the fact that you have mountains of poorly maintained software on every distro is bad enough. using a standard that confines everything to a virtual file system is just adding salt to a deadly wound.

I would gladly upgrade to a new windows purely just for that feature, the feel of windows 7 UI was just too nice, compared to this blaberish opaque task bar and everything being minimalistic. The bubble task bar and such gave it such a welcoming look.

I was hesitant with MacOS at first, but it truly is a huge improvement, for every day use and productivity. If you want to game, don't switch. The lack of bloatware, simplicity, and speed even on the lowest models makes it worth it.

They certainly aren't returning to actually creating full operating systems. Windows 10 and 11 still use lots of the same components from Windows 7, which looks terrible to say the least.
Honestly it could be the new 7. Windows 11 had a pretty poor launch and wasn't the most polished, but if windows 12 launches and is a polished, ever so slightly better windows 11 then it could catch everyone upgrading from 10 after end of life, and so long as it is stable it should gain a good rep.
Actually, Vista wasn’t the problem. The problem was that the recommended hardware requirement was too underpowered. I built a brand new PC with the highest end hardware at the time, and Vista wasn’t that bad. I had some issues, but not to the extent that everyone was complaining about.

Well maybe for different reasons, but the required hardware was well known before its release and it (technically) won’t run without newer hardware. The problem with Vista is that everyone assumed you could just upgrade on your older machine, and when they did it performed poorly. MS wasn’t too bright when announcing the minimum hardware requirements.

I think that Microsoft is going to Starr releasing on a 3 year schedule now. It appears that Microsoft is writing new kernel code in Rust, which it great for consumers. Rust is now being used in Linux also. Writing in Rust is much safer because it's compiler and libraries make it so memory is automatically released, and the pointers cleaned up. This means less memory leaks, which cause the OS to be unstable. I also believe as they have fully integrated server Linux code into the OS they are writing some internals in Linux which will speed up processing

This is gonna be like the vista incident. Where it releases too early, then it runs into lots of problems, leading it to be the most hated os. But that is just my assumption, and this might be the major upgrade and lead people to love it.

honestly i fell win 11 loooks cleaner. everything was cluttered and unorganised in 10. The tabs in file explorer and in notepad makes it so much easier to navigate also

windows 11 is much cleaner because of the update windows bottom bar, new desktop management system. But file explorer got nerfed man. The home page of file explorer was good on windows 10 but they removed it.

AI gives them the excuse to record every click and every app option, every window ... because that is literally how AI learns. (and coincidently they can sell that info to advertisers, political parties, the government etc...)

Linux is awesome but from a programmers viewpoint, Windows 11 is by far the most stable. The windows libraries are solid and I haven't had nearly the issues that I had with Windows 10, but it is much better than the disaster thar was Windows 7. I lost hundreds of hours of billable hours trying to program around the problems in the libraries and the programming application interface ( API's)

I would gladly upgrade to a new windows purely just for that feature, the feel of windows 7 UI was just too nice, compared to this blaberish opaque task bar and everything being minimalistic. The bubble task bar and such gave it such a welcoming look.

They certainly aren't returning to actually creating full operating systems. Windows 10 and 11 still use lots of the same components from Windows 7, which looks terrible to say the least.
I can tell Windows 12 is going to be the new vista just by its release date.
Honestly it could be the new 7. Windows 11 had a pretty poor launch and wasn't the most polished, but if windows 12 launches and is a polished, ever so slightly better windows 11 then it could catch everyone upgrading from 10 after end of life, and so long as it is stable it should gain a good rep.
Actually, Vista wasn’t the problem. The problem was that the recommended hardware requirement was too underpowered. I built a brand new PC with the highest end hardware at the time, and Vista wasn’t that bad. I had some issues, but not to the extent that everyone was complaining about.

The problem with Vista is that everyone assumed you could just upgrade on your older machine, and when they did it performed poorly. MS wasn’t too bright when announcing the minimum hardware requirements.
