    I ended up picking up a set of Liquid Metal Atom 14" 5.5 steel wheels with 35mm offset and Falcon Sincera 165 /65 R14, both from Discount Tire. They fit perfectly, no rubbing with stock height and the ride is so much smoother.

    2:20 time mark _ Your diagram is correct, but confusing. First of all, it would be extraordinarily helpful to draw the wheel rim, so that the viewer can get a better sense of where exactly the tire sits. Second, the tire spokes should be drawn (reasonably) symmetrical, so that the viewer can more easily recognize what has been drawn. Last, the reference direction to the car would make it easier for the viewer to understand the orientation of the view.
    I understand wheel offsets, but I had to virtually re-draw your diagram in my head in order to make sense of it. 🤓

    I just got wheels off a 99 civic, no idea what they are,they fit with a5mm spacer but I don’t have many threads left on the studs so I’m not going to run them until I get longer studs. Question is about stud specs, do you know what they are so I can try to find some here in Aus? Love your work man, super clear and informative.

    • @rhd_ron
      @rhd_ron  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Kieran! Thanks for the view and feedback. Yeah, wheel stud is M12 x 1.50. Pretty common Honda Thread and Size. As far as length, all depends on whether or not you are using spacers. Most people buy ARP studs but they can be unnecessarily long. Sometimes you can find OEM Honda studs from a different model that are just slightly longer.

I would have preferred an Acty, I love Honda, but this Suzuki has 4200 miles on it, and looks brand new. I couldn't pass it up. Now, after all that. • @rhd_ron
      @rhd_ron  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey man! Really dont think youd notice a ride quality difference with steel vs alloy since the trucks are so light. However the weight of the steel wheel will put a minor increased load on the little truck’s 39 hp! Haha.

    • @rynfilms
      @rynfilms 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rhd_ron Thanks! According to the specs, the steel wheels are .5lbs heavier than the aluminum ones. I'm leaning to the steel wheels mostly because I like the look a little more.

    Ron,
    Enjoyed this video.
    Weighing tracks v larger thies for floatation. Looking at UTV wherls/tires. Most likely will need 1" wheel adapters/spacers. I am leaning towards 14" x 7" wheels. I want to approach 26" diameter tires with a tire cross section of 255mm +/-. It appears with prooer offset/spacer combo the larger diameter van be moved away from the axial centerline of the Acty. My concerns are not so much with inside wheel/tire contact with suspension but tire contact with fender. Any experience with this.

    • @rhd_ron
      @rhd_ron  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately no experience with some wheels/offset of that size. The biggest wheel diameter Ive been told is 23.5” to not rub the inside well at stock height. Anything other than that I have no tried or confirmed.

    • @rhd_ron
      @rhd_ron  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not 100% sure, but since these use the same filter as all the other hondas (less the S2000 and NSX), you should be able to fit a sandwich adapter plate made for any Honda really. I've used Moshimoto on my track cars, works well.

    Ron your Acty fitment video was very useful! However I am looking a 15x6.5 w/ 35 offset, do you think this would line up without any adapters? I noticed you tried a 15x6" with a 45mm offset which didn't make it. Do you think that extra 10mm would be sufficient to clear the coil?

      Should fit, but tire width may rub the spring on front, MAY. Shouldn’t be any issues on the back. The bronze wheels i installed in the video were 14x5.5 as well but +35mm. So they stick out 8mm more than the +43mm size. Thanks for watching and I hope this helps👍

    Impressive acty have a better ride height than suzuki carry it's a lot of tire option on size for stock height. On my suzuki carry 4x2 stock height it's little lower than acty i have 2 set of wheel that i put in 155/50 14x5 +45 and 165/50 14x5 +35 the 155 +45 had rubbing with full lock steer on the front wheel well a lot and a little bit on back hitting the chassi and it clear the spring but on 165 +35 i have the same issue and it won't clear the spring so i did switch them i used the +35 rim 155 tire and i don't have clearance issue but i cannot used bigger side wall number if i did that i need a lift kit.

    • @rhd_ron
      @rhd_ron  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah there is some “finessing” to make some of these fit without lifting. Tire sidewall height and tire width are things to consider on TOP of offset. Three huge parameters that can impact what fits. Overall tire diameter too as a fourth independent variable🤯

      I know some people running 185/60s on 13" tires are VERY close to rubbing. That 70 profile is a little taller tire so there may be issues. I cannot confirm 100 percent though.

      @@rhd_ron Thanks for the response! I think im just gonna guess it, i haven't picked up my Acty yet and it's an 1,5 hour drive home so it should be fine. In the future im probably gonna swap the tires out anyways, thinking of 185/50/13's just to have that little bit of extra top speed. Greetings from The Netherlands btw 😁👍

    I have vx wheels on my acty with 175/70-13. It clears but bareeeeeely. The rear centercaps aren’t even close to fitting

      GREAT info for me. Thanks for the data point on that tire size. I will likely run some spacers up front to fit the 185 tire, time will tell. Thanks again.

      @hardbodyruckin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rhd_ron ya you’ll def need a spacer. From what I can tell a 10mm spacer should be good and make the rear cap barely fit without the acty dust cap on.

      @@hardbodyruckin i dont know if there is a safe amout of threading left on the stud if a 10mm spacer is used. maybe 15mm spacer with bolt extensions on it.

    I mean, I appreciate the effort. But this is a lot of supposition being derived from unsprung suspension geometry.

    • @rhd_ron
      @rhd_ron  ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct. More of an offset discussion on what may rub your inner suspension. In general, most people document that stock ride height your overall tire diameter should be no more than 22.5” to not rub wheel wells under compression.

    Dude, explanation is not bad, but not complete. It is supposed rim fits on flange, and not spindle
