These are awesome! Great suggestion! I unbolted passenger side bump stop and lowered torsion bar for passenger side install. That made it somewhat easier. I torched the old rubber bushing on old shock to get the metal tube thing out to swap over.
Thanks a ton. Had the back axles out to do cv boots and figured I’d upgrade the worn out shocks. Holy hell, what a difference! Wasn’t the easiest getting those beefy bastards in place, but compared to taking the axles out it was a breeze. Thanks again for the vid.
You have any recommendations for ungraded front struts/coilovers? Seems like most of the aftermarket stuff is designed for lowering, which I’m not looking to do.
Yeah I would say it’s slightly elevated. The vid doesn’t do the size of these things justice. When I opened the package I thought “no way in hell these big bastards will fit”.
@@GhostSpeedShop I'm told Miata front coilovers fit, but of course there's a catch- you cut off the bolt part and slide the body of the cup into the part that goes around the shock. Then mark where the bolt would go through and grind out a path for that bolt. Once you've got that set up mark it off on the top and weld on a strip of metal above to further help prevent them sliding through.
Thank you for making the acty videos. Your timing belt, engine mount and carb videos have helped me a lot. A question - cost aside, what’s the benefit of installing these as opposed to a stock one? I know it’s larger, but how does that correspond to the ride of the van as compared to a stock replacement? Thank you
Most people swap to aftermarket springs, but there is no factory replacement front strut option. There are coilovers options out on the market though, I’ve heard good things about GAZ coilovers.
I did this today following your video. Worked like a charm.
Good to hear!
A utility knife cuts the bushing really easy and flush. I used that instead of a cutting wheel.
Good tip!

Nice. Was debating these or Bilstein. Did this have a slight raise after the install?

this is awesome, thank you so much. do you have any recommendations for the front?
Unfortunately Honda discontinued the fronts and I haven’t found a solution yet.

@@DeadLuckArchivesI was told someone tried it, and for whatever reason it wouldn’t work. Have you seen it in person?

Supports more weight and comfort
Thank you for the video! question where did you get that exhaust tip?
No idea, it came on the van
@@GhostSpeedShop no worries thank you tho
I'm having the most difficult time getting the shock in place if the bottom bolt. Even tried jacking the shock up and malleting in place.
Use a pick through the bolt hole on the opposite side of where you are placing the bolt in.
How's it going?
Just wondering if you had the part number for front struts and assembly?
Thanks alot!
In my video, I mention that you cannot buy the front struts. Honda no longer makes them.
What would be something comparable?
I'm having a hard time finding parts and numbers out here in Hawaii.
Anyway help would be appreciated
Might need to track down a set of Gaz coilovers to replace them.
Do you know of any lift kits for this van? Would the acty truck kits work?
Yes the truck kits work
@@GhostSpeedShop Thanks bro i'm really appreciated. Torn between getting the truck and the van.
Bro thanks again for the shocks and quick response on the questions I had 🙏🏾
Any time 👍
Will these work on the Honda ACTY trucks? Mine is an HA4
Yes
You're the man!!
Hey Maverick- thanks for the advice! Any advice on what brand can replace the front struts?
Gaz coilovers
How are these holding up?
Great!
Anything for the front suspension that you recommend?? Need new front suspension

Is there any Front options?
Only aftermarket coilovers right now. Hopefully Honda starts reproductions of the front struts again soon.
@ thank you!
Does this raise or lower it at all? I'm working towards lowering mine, I'll probably remove a single leaf rather than two.
It might raise it slightly at first depending on how much the rear weighs. Maybe .5-1 inch
I want mine raised anyways. Going to find one that has a higher weight rating.
