Nice video segment on your tire & rim comparison. I was wondering at the very end of the video as you were rounding the long curve, if your camera is mounted on a gimble, or is that your truck has play in the steering? Just observing.
No, I never did but I’ve been thinking about putting together a quick thing on how I did it. (The signal wire for the tach is hooked up to one of the injector signal wires.)
There are three wires for each injector. A ground, 12v supply, and 5v signal. I first tried the camshaft sensor but the signal was not very good from there
@@ianstraker3060 I’m having problems with mine. I have a 95 Suzuki carry and I tried to put 14 inch tires on just like you did and I got a hell of a death wobble.
@georgelohnes6588 Are all your front end parts in good shape? Do you have a lift kit installed, that may have put your wheel alignment out enough to cause problems as well.
@@ianstraker3060 ticket to a garage and they looked at all the front end stuff and it all looks fine. They did a wheel alignment on it but every time I go over 80 I get a hell of a death wobble, but it’s fine with regular tires.
If your front end is good, alignment is good, then that’s all I got. Unless it’s a front wheel balance issue but you wouldn’t think it would turn into a death wobble. Unless it’s being amplified through the light duty steering on these trucks with the oversized tires??

Hey, thanks! The gopro does have some movement but I got a little loose on that last curve and had a bit of a controlled power slide. Haha.

Yes, fuel injected. I hooked up to one of the fuel injector signal wires. I poked around with a multimeter until I found a 5volt power supply.

There there is already a tech signal in the instrument cluster. In the manual it is the engine speed sensor wire.
I pulled my 14's off and put 12's back on. I think they ride better.
Is that right? I’ll have to try that next summer. It will definitely have more power with the 12’s.
What’s the model of wheel you went with?
They are Fast Wheels. They are called Jet and I got them in gloss black. 14x5.5, +40 offset, 4x100mm, 60.1mm bore.
