    Fazle, it was your videos about a year and a half ago that got me into thinking about joining the TSA. I'm now a TSO at the Phoenix airport. I'd like to say Thank you!!
    Your videos did give great information, but there are so many things that I was so woefully unprepared for in changing from the private work force to the Government sector...

      Happy to hear I was able to help. I’m actually curious about your experiences. Send me an email if you’re comfortable to share. Feel free to say hi if you see me in the airport.

    Is it common for TSOs to promote or cross over into the FAMs program?

    • @theTSAguy
      @theTSAguy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It happens all the time, more common than you’d think. Last FAMs opening back in 2012/2013 about 10 people from ATL went to FAMs

      @@theTSAguy Nice. As I understand the maximum age is 37. I'm wondering if being a TSO enables you to enter FAMS beyond that age limit.
      From what you've observed, do you think FAMs experiences the whole "revolving door" phenomena that TSOs deal with?

    • @theTSAguy
      @theTSAguy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@romeo_alpha0176 FAMs is a revolving door but for a whole different set of reasons. It's a very different culture...
      FAMs will waive the age limitation if you're retired military. I recommend the job to anyone that is under age 35, unmarried, not dating anyone, and willing to live an incognito life.
      I spoke to a few supervisory FAMs when I worked at TSA, they were not shy about the rigors on family and social life but they have fantastic careers.
      If you're married with kids...best to just apply for a job with your local police force.

      @@theTSAguy I actually am single with no kids or real commitments. I can mobilize anywhere I’m asked at any time. I live a very minimalist lifestyle.
      I was in the middle of applying to local LE then I saw an opening for FAMs beginning of March. I meet the minimum requirements but my only fear is if I would get a TJO before turning 37. Did that SFAM ever speak on the difficulty of filling vacancies?
      FAMs just seems to be something up my alley. It seems a lot use FAMs to transfer into other 1811 jobs later, even though FAMs is 1801.

      You’ll be just fine as a FAM then

    Do you have to be with TSA for 1 year to apply for PSS?

    • @theTSAguy
      @theTSAguy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to complete your full training first, but the additional details to apply will be listed in the duty solicitation when internally posted.

    Is there an age limit for PSS

    • @theTSAguy
      @theTSAguy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, as long as the job is not categorized as law enforcement or military, there is no age limit.
