  • If you, or someone you travel with, faces challenges when going through TSA, airport security, you need to know about this program! TSA Cares is available to ANYONE who might need special assistance and almost no one takes advantage of this program. I find that traveling over 50, this becomes more of an issue, as you or your travel companion(s) might have pace makers, or diabetic medical equipment, or menopause induced anxiety. Using the TSA Cares program will definitely make your travel day way less stressful!

    Have you used the TSA Cares program? If so, how was your experience?

    Thank you for sharing about these important programs. As a disabled traveler, I have utilized the wheelchair assistance service and it makes all the difference. Without that help I would not be able to travel via airplanes. However, despite being a very well educated traveler and doing a lot of research on traveling with disabilities, I was not familiar with this program. So thank you for spreading the word! Keep up the good work! I really enjoy you and the top notch information that you share on your channel.

      Thank you so much!! I was so surprised when I started looking into the program and how underutilized it is, hopefully more people will start to take advantage of it 😊

    Thank you for this information I'm traveling to Paris with my mom who will BE 80 and frequently uses a wheelchair to get through airports because of all the walking this would be very useful thank you

    I had no idea this exists. I was just searching for anything to make my upcoming airport experience less stressful and I came across your video.
    I have autism, a medical condition that requires a brace, have to use a wheelchair in the airport, and have medication that is liquid. Scar tissue from past surgery and injuries typically sets off their scanner in 7-9 places after I've managed to hobble through. Meanwhile, my things have gone ahead and been grabbed by an office because of the liquid (which I pull out and separate).
    I end up a complete wreck by the time the process is complete. I'm signing up right now for my trip later this month. I will let you know how it goes, and if it's a better experience.

    The sunflower lanyard is a world wide system, started in Gatwick. Thank you for sharing xx

      Good to know! It's an amazing program. I have family members who have severe anxiety and ADHD and I'm going to suggest they look into using the sunflower lanyards the next time they travel! 😊

    Thank you so much for this information! Two of my loved ones have mobility issues, so this info will certainly help improve their travel experience in conjunction with advance planning with the airline. Much appreciated!

    Thank you for this post. I was trying to explain this to a family member, and you did a much better job.
    Thanks also for sharing about your StepDad, what an inspirational story!

      Thank you, I believe you suggested this a few videos ago?? It took a little bit to figure out how best to tell everyone about it because its really for a much broader population than I think most people think it is for. And yes, he was a pretty incredible person...I was very lucky to have him in my life 😊

    I signed my granddaughter up for the TSA Cares program a couple weeks ago for our upcoming travel to Disney. She is 4, diagnosed with Autism & Sensory issues. I'm not sure how she is going to handle going through TSA security checkpoint, so even though we have TSA PreCheck, so I think the TSA Cares program will help.

    My neighbor told me a week ago. TSA precheck

    • @GenxGypsy1968
      @GenxGypsy1968  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is actually different than TSA precheck and is free 😊. It's the TSA Cares program that will help anyone with special needs, whether its a temporary special need like a broken leg or pregnancy, or an ongoing special need like autism or dementia. 😊

    I filled out all the information and was going to go in and do it but when I heard it was $85 I thought I don’t think so. I don’t fly very often as mayor fact I can never remember when I flew last but I am flying this fall with my sister to Europe for a rhine cruise so I consider doing it but I don’t know that’s just a lot of money
