    Wow Fazle, what a crazy life you've had. Hope you remember me, I started watching your videos around Jan 2022 when I applied to the TSA😞 this hiring process is eternal, rent has risen here in south Florida and I could really use this job if it ever comes. Still waiting on the airport assessment, practicing for the interview a bit, hope all is well.

    • @theTSAguy

      Keep checking your dashboard and email. If you already completed the interview and medical check then you’re in the final few weeks of ready pool and hiring. The airports desperately need people right now.

      @@theTSAguy the candidate portal says I am 45% into the hiring process, it says to wait until I am contacted depending on the airports needs. I am waiting for the interview which I think is next. Still doing deliveries to stay afloat, it's dangerous out here!

    • @theTSAguy
      @theTSAguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea don’t rely on the candidate tracker, that’s more of a checklist and it gives people more hope than it should. It plays mind games with people. When you complete all the steps after the CBT, everything will update together and you’ll move into the ready pool.

    Hey man! Thanks for the videos and the information. I’m currently in the hiring process and am about to schedule the airport interview! I have one question and sorry if it’s a repeat. How long after you get hired on can you apply to other agencies? My goal is to land an immigration career. I speak Spanish and have worked in healthcare for over 7 years now so would those skills help me at all? Thanks for any input man :) hope you are doing well

    When do you recommend a TSA officer to apply to a CBP officer position ? After a year or more ? And what qualifies you as a GS-7

    • @theTSAguy
      @theTSAguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can apply for any job at anytime, there’s no waiting period as long as the job is open to the public and you meet the minimum requirements. The GS qualifications are listed in the job posting. It will specifically list what skills you must have to qualify at each GS level for that job.

    Great information, i really appreciate the heads up Faz. I just got done with my CBT, I applied after a TSA seminar on Wednesday last week here in utah finished my CBT this past Saturday 4/30/22
    I heard you say that promotions are automatic but it’s based on the anual eval scores to actually get promoted. what type of eval is it? Is it a test or they go over past year of experience? What can I expect at my eval?

    • @theTSAguy
      @theTSAguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a written and practical exam. You’ll have to perform pat-downs, bag searches etc… and find hidden objects. You’ll get one automatically at TSA, but the rest you’ll need to compete for.

      @@theTSAguy Okay cool! hey bro one more question! is SF86 hard? I got a lot of places I have worked, and quite a bit of places I've lived too. would a federal background check on my self help me fill out my SF86?

    • @theTSAguy
      @theTSAguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s not hard, but it is tedious. You will need the addresses and dates of all the places you lived and worked. When you complete the SF86, enter the most recent information first and then work your way back, or else the system will say you have errors if you do it any other way.
      You’re going to also need someone who can vouch for the places you lived and worked. My advice is to just use one reference as often as you can. As long as the person has been to the places you lived and worked then you’re good.
      the only thing you’re own background check is good for is getting your criminal history. Best way to find your addresses is you check your credit report, your Amazon shipping address, and your address on your financial records.

      I was able to do this because at the time USCIS Was hiring hundreds of people. I just kept looking at jobs as they were becoming available.
      You need to read the skills in the job posting and then leverage your skills and experience to apply for those jobs. Currently USCIS is looking to hire about 4500 people by the end of December. So keep looking up jobs.
      If you want to learn about how you can leverage your skills and tailor your resume, my contact is in the description. Feel free to reach out and I can teach you 1-on-1.

    • @theTSAguy
      @theTSAguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The speed depends on how urgently you need the clearance. If you absolutely need a clearance to do your job then you get higher priority. If you can start with an interim clearance then they get to you usually within 90-120 days.
