Fantastic videos! When I was 18 I lived in the guesthouse of the blue ranger (costumed stuntman, David Wald) for a short time. I remember thinking how cool his helmet looked in person, but also how light and simple.
This helmet is amazing having it on my shelf and being able to wear one finally lol re-watching this 2 months later after my build realizing are helmets are almost identical 😂 this file is totally worth it and probably the closest thing I've found for accuracy yet online keep up the awesome work quest

Well I would of had one in 2018 but the gf now wife wouldn't let me get one ... dang big bang Theory show. ... lol so now she thinks all 3d printer are 8k and up smh . MMPR will always take the top spot for me but I really did enjoy the turbo movie a big part probably is that so much of the MMPR cast was in it 🤘🏼
Honestly sanding them teeth killed me! With the red Jewel I used one of my GF red jem nail polishes. It was a like a subtle ruby glitter effect and came out really really nice.

The price some charge for finished 3D prints is INSANE! £600 for a MMPR Green ect. This is why I am trying to make affordable 3D prints for people who don't have the time skill or printers
The teeth are such a shocking time sink 😂 helmet looks simple enough and then boom sanding 20 teeth 5 different grits of sand paper 💀 nail polish idea is awesome, games workshop also has a fake blood paint that is great for red gems

I like the green ranger and the white ranger but I’ve got to say my favorite power ranger has to be the white ranger
This video is amazing! Great job with all the work you put into it. I have been going much higher grit with the sand paper so it is actually nice to know that I don't have to go as high to achieve a quality finish!
Yeah the higher also amplifies the risk of a run with the paint, if it's wicked smooth that paint will try to flow too easily

@@Armour3dPrints some will use a scotchbrite pad to scuff it back up to get the primer to adhere but I think it just makes more sense to stop at 320 or 600 max for metallic stuff

So on the red gem. Try nail polish to get that shimmer effect
I'm going for season 1 power rangers where they used zyuranger footage, if you look at those it's actuality just red and glossy not a ruby like it looks in later seasons 👍🏻 appreciate the tip though, games workshop sells a special effect paint that is also great for glossy gems
Hey man. Great stuff. How are these helmets for comfort and wearing? Also whats the visibility like in them. I'll tell you why I ask. . I am thinking of setting up at TH-cam channel and or twitch streaming.. only I really don't want to put my face out there.. I'm thinking a green ranger helmet would be perfect for what I'm thinking.. but comfort and visibility are paramount. Could it be worn in comfort for an extended period of time? Or what would you suggest I do. If I use any of your items, I would promote your channel through mine.
You can always add padding and would need to drill holes above the lips to stop fogging and better air flow
Would have loved this when I was kid. I remember wanting so badly to dress as the green ranger for Halloween. In 6th grade, made the dagger out of paper, staples, and cotton.

Seems like you've compared compared some green ranger helmet models. What are your thoughts on Do3D's Green ranger helmet in terms of accuracy, if you don't mind me asking? I have their original version printed (without the buckles modeled into it), and I'm wondering if I should switch gears to a different model.
I don't really like do3ds helmets for any of the rangers honestly, they often have pretty inaccurate mouths. Also they seem to model individual pieces and just mash It together which makes more random islands to support and can have weird thin spots In the print.
Fantastic job brother, your work is beautiful and truly mimics the show. Absolutely dope! Also, Surprised you know of Beetleborgs! No one gives them enough credit lol. If you made a HunterBorg or ShadowBorg helmet I’d probably die of happiness lol. 😂 can’t wait to see what the future holds for you man, you got a sub outta me.

Just regular overture PLA from Amazon, you can figure out your hat size by going to a store or measuring the circumference then use a model head file to scale the helmet

Sick video! I do recommend some wax sculpting tools for the smaller parts! Also what does your paint booth set up look like? Looks really clean. And where do you find the latches?
There is a link to the latches on my red turbo video description. My paint booth is a poster board box inside of a 5ft by 5ft growing tent I got off of Amazon. I used another 4x4 one to sand in
@@SaturdayMorningProps how do you do with the ventilation? Do you get a lot of dust? I've tried similar method as you and with a fan and still get a lot of dust/over spray
@@breakerjr lots of dust in the sanding that when it builds up just shop vac out, the paint booth I bought a bathroom fan to run ducting from but haven't installed it yet 🤣 the overspray settles on the ground and I sweep it up

How do helmet sizes work? Should I order the correct size or a bigger one.
I do my kits scaled to fit the head, so I load in a model of a head to your size then size the helmet to fit around the head.

Great video. I’m curious how you did the elastic hinge. Can you elaborate?
It's just two strips of elastic hot glued at the top, I may have shown more of it in my earlier power ranger vids like the blue ranger, but really I hot glue one side of the elastic to the front half then glue the other side of elastic to the back half, it's mostly held together by the clamps but the hinge supports it while being buckled

Can you go into more detail on how you do the elastic for the top hinge? You mention it but I don't really get how you do it or how it works, you didn't even really show it. Do you pull it tight and glue it down? How much do you use?
Check a few earlier videos if you need to see it better, no I do not pull it tight the goal is for it to be able to stretch to open. I barely use any, just two pieces hot glued to both sides at the top. It's not easy to film since you do it with the helmet closed so you can't see it happening anyway

You said you used PLA, do you cosplay or have any melting issues? I don’t plan on cosplaying but my kid might want to and I do not want it to melt lol
It would have to get super hot to melt, just don't leave it sitting in a car hot car, I took my buster sword to a festival in May and had zero issues

i was using a cr10s but now a cr10 v2
Do you know if I can use fiberglass epoxy instead of uv? I always use it on my boat I was curious if you had any info?
Fiberglass resin yes, if epoxy is different I'm not sure, I used fiberglass resin on a few projects but if epoxy heats up it may not be good for the plastic
@@SaturdayMorningProps yes its fiberglass glass epoxy. It can heat up a little but thin coat's shouldn't warm up to much, I will definitely test it on something small befor I begin my green ranger pla helmet.

You'd have to sand and paint yes, I'd print it to your head size or whatever size you wanted then ship it out for you to follow along with the tutorial

No usually I do 80,120, then filler primer, then 220, 320 and ready for paint

the masking is so hard, i messed it up on mine lol
Masking is always so scary, you can't see if youre perfectly on the line, cutting with a sharp knife is never fun, and the tape may peel paint 💀 I hate masking too

Is it difficult to breathe while wearing the helmet
I've never worn it to a Con or anything so I can't say for long periods but just on stream and videos I've been fine. You can always drill holes under the visor by the mouth

Currently trying to finish my MMPR collection and then beetleborgs will probably be the next line of helmets but if I get a dino commission it would jump the line clearly
After you wet sanded in the tub, did you hit it with sandable primer?
No wet sanding is my last step of sanding, so just regular primer or basecoat color

Sanding
Sandable Primer or filler primer and spot puddy....
Then wet sand.....
Prime it with black enamel or primer then white car paint? And so on.
@@Cosking999 the black primer was for the silver paint to shine better, but yes for dino thunder once you're done sanding you can paint black, tape off the areas that will stay black then paint white

I wanted to do it
is that model from Do3D? I have that model and it doesn't feel scaled right. Like the opening at the bottom for the neck vs the top of the helmet feel very obtuse. the bottom is very very narrow while the tope is extremely wide.
@@Jokerman0587 this model turned out to be a stolen file, malaspulgas was stealing others work and selling it, however what your explaining is how the green ranger helmet is always the bottom of the helmet is fit to the neck where the to is a wide flat fin always
