13:51 when you added the drums back in I thought oh that’s sick and laughed so hard when you said you didn’t like it 😂 love your tuts I’ve learned so much from you
Thank you yo! Looking back at it I really don't know why I hated it that much but at least that's an idea for another time... Glad to know that these videos are helping you too, big ups!
generally i'm a bit so-so on videos that would go on this long or pursue dead-ends in the process, but the sheer number of ideas you tried, felt meander, and then abandoned legitimately gave a lot of good ideas. sort of like you accidentally ran thru the whole sound design handbook trying to find a good sound! anyways I just want to say thanks for keeping in the parts where you flip-flopped or made something half-decent you ended up not liking enough, it's helped me pursue ideas I personally do like!
Yeah I agree too, especially since this one is almost an hour long, but it really is important to keep in all the angles attacked; experiments, failures and successes in ideas cause what may not be good for me would certainly be good for whoever's watching, and you're definitely the case! Thank you so so much for watching and sharing the luv man, stay creative yo!
Honestly, looking back at it now, you're right; this is quite a fire idea in of itself! If I am able to recreate that somehow and develop into its own living thing then that's a wrap!
Not going to lie, at 13:50 that sounded FU**ING DOPE! I started feeling myself headbang that noise was 100% tight. Would love to see you make something similar using that sound because it was absolutely filthy.
Yeah that sound is a lot more like an old-school style than what I usually do and I wasn't really prepared for that. Maybe someday I'll be able to get back to it! Thank you so much for tha luv man
It's less-so about trying to sound design like x or y or me, it's moreso developing your way of sound designing that inspires you / speaks to you and leads you to where the sound wants to go. Once you hear the sound telling you where it wants to go then it's all smooth sailing from there. Of course though, it was hard to find it in this video... vital never again LMAO. Just be sure to be patient and don't be afraid to be curious n go outside the box sometimes. And aye now that you point it out that does sound like a cool concept... not sure how I'll revisit it in the future, but someday soon I guess? Thanks so much yo!
@@genesis_tracks while i completely understand that pain, please keep trying to use vital. the outcome was amazing and you gave me a lot of help using it.but do what you want your a much better producer than me. thanks for noticing my comment.
@@tyrant5434 I guess I can give it another go, but not when I'm under the recording spotlight and crunching for time with my hard drive... And I swear I'm not that great. Everyone has their own strengths some way or another. Cheers though
@@genesis_tracks yeah. I just got vital myself not too long ago and I'm loving the hell out of it. It looks like me and you are different! I love vital, and you just fuckin' despise it! Lmao. Keep up the good work though, bro.
So what's really the difference between Trench and normal Riddim? I've heard this style from many artists before "Trench" even got its name, so I just assumed that it was their own unique style and riddim sound design
Trench is becoming the new name due to "Riddim" already previously being used for Jamaican based Reggae and Dancehall tunes, before it got used for the Bass music subgenre that we know of. If you search up Riddim in streaming services (e.g Spotify), you'll get a mix of the original Jamaican songs from the early 2000s till the present, with the Bass music subgenre from 2010s till now. I understand the confusion to the renaming transition and there are some that disagree, but I am wholeheartedly all for it.
@genesis_tracks So presumably this would help in search relevancy ? As in searching "trench" would provide a much more recent and specific style of sound ?
It's not just search relevancy / SEO, it's also in conjunction with preserving the other genres history and culture more purely and respectfully from this bass music subgenre. From transferring from Riddim Dubstep to Trench, it'll benefit both the Jamaican Riddim and Trench Dubstep cultures n communities. And you're not wrong with the more recent sounds, it's inevitable cause you can't change the genre of previously published tunes - distributors and record labels don't like that. However, if this is kept up in the long run, it'll allow the different genres to diverge to its own place.
I really fw this man you gave me a lot of light on how to make sounds but bad thing is I’m on FL and I use serum but at the end of the day they kinda alike
Aye they're definitely alike! It doesn't matter if I used Ableton or Vital in this video or anyone else with their tools and techniques, as long as you're able to take some ideas, methods and inspiration then you're golden! Thank you so much for watching yo

It was perfect, brother. @@___deni2 Awww man that's so unfortunate... have you tried updating your OpenGL or is it your actual pc components? Either way, I hope that you'll be able to fix it sometime soon!
Sick video man! Love how you do your drums from scratch every freakin’ time! Quick note at 5:57. You said there’s no way to get the envelope to go to 0% here. Correct me if I’m wrong, but you can do that by creating another node in the envelope and the dragging it to the zero value can’t you? Perhaps I’m misunderstanding what you mean. But on env 2 you currently have the envelope “exit” node set to 0% and a curve going down to reach that. If you create a another node by double clicking and dragging down to where you want the new “exit” to be (considering this is an Envelope lfo) and then making the curve against that instead, then it would indeed reach zero at that point.
Yeah so you did do that at 10:07 . Any particular reason why you didn’t on the snare or just one of those moments (I say this having them all the time 😂).
@@blissrae-ul3qk Thank you so much yo! I absolutely adore making drums very time. And aye it was actually just one of those moments where I forgot and my brain was running all over the place 😭😭
When the song gets finished eventually, then yeah I'll put it up somewhere! I need to get back on this thang again eventually, while still keeping to the Vital only theme...
@@OmegaAlnitak It's usually a back-and-forth between labels not liking the song, labels not being open for submissions and sometimes just letting the song marinate for a bit.
