I have stayed at the hub by Premier Inn twice in February and April this year for two different occasions to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and the Only Fools and Horses Musical.
The vast majority of this video was recorded during the first visit except for one section to do with the RetroPie, so consider this a two month old video that I only just got around to uploading now.

The panel at the end of the bed can serve as a desk if you slide it all the way out and move the chair. Not the most substantial setup, but pretty good use of the small space.

that was what I was thinking too. A small desk by the window. Thanks for highlighting this.

Lol just got to 4:45 - the pull-out desk that I hope you eventually found out what the gap was about... before the end of this vid. Nevertheless, you're the only one, so far, including premiere inn themselves, who has ever given a full comprehensive look and commentary on this room with nowt taken out. Look forward to more of your reviews on anything and everything. So subscribed without hesitation!

It's a desk that pulls right out, I stay in the Hub on Rose St in Edinburgh often they are absolutely fantastic I won't stay anywhere else now - check out the new thing from Premier Inn it's called 'Zip' and it is more compact at 82.5sq metres inc shower and what looks like up to 2 beds, looks like there is only the one at present in Cardiff, I'll try it when it comes to Edinburgh maybe - they seem to be advertising it as an overnighter with no frills (TV etc) good review tho' (My bad there is a small TV on the wall in the Zip room, itreminds me of a larger capsule hotel in Japan)

Can you stream from your phone to the TV? Is it cheap as you have to make up your own bed? Thanks for a great review.

Is this a standard or super room?

This was a standard room. It's also a single room as opposed to a double room.

Hi Scott. The room here is a single room and the price seems to fluctuate depending on what time of the year you go, with the Summer holidays being the most expensive at over £200 based on what Premier Inn's web site says.
I paid £168 for the February visit, where as the April visit during the Easter holiday was £180 and that was for one night only on both trips. That's not including breakfast or dinner that you may buy from the same venue if you do not eat out. It appears that the double room isn't much more expensive, so it may be in your best interest to go for a bigger room for the same price.
Hope this helps you out. :)

I paid about £162 ($200 USD) per night, including taxes, for a 7 day stay in July. Breakfast was offered at a pre-pay rate of £5 ($6.37 USD) per day.
It's certainly not the most inexpensive hotel in the area, but a great value for the location and amenities.

Sorry for the extremely late response on this, but we never set any fixed rate on our hotel rooms, they’re priced based on availability and how full the hotel is compared to the time you book it
The prices between booking online and through the desk too also make a massive difference, on average our hotel rooms cost around £30 a night but can start to increase depending on how busy we are!
And when it comes to the difference between a single and double room, that doesn’t actually change the size of the rooms just how it is made up! Whether that be with extra mugs, towels and other amenities.
In some hubs we do have our bigger option for a surcharge but whether you book it as a single or double does not make a lot of difference on the size
      Hope this helps :)
