Stayed at both these chains but only ever use Travelodge if we're unable to book into a Premier Inn that are simply way ahead when it comes to their rooms , service and breakfasts.
Both seemed decent for the price. Plus there is no limit on the amount you have, just throw brown sauce on the stuff you don't like and winner winner 😊
Another good review, both breakfast represent value for money I thought. Have stayed Premier Inn many times, never disappointed with the buffet breakfasts, eggs can vary according as you mentioned from which batch they been cooked and if item is missing generally quick in adding to the trays. Never leave there establishments feeling they skimped on anything.
A lot of travel lodges don’t have kitchens to do a cooked breakfast and only offer a ‘continental’ which I would never recommend. If there’s a Wetherspoons nearby they’re a cheaper option.
It's even a good option, even if you are staying at a PI, as they have more choice if you fancy something different than the bog standard Full English. They have Eggs Benedict and all sorts. Of course, in a PI you can load up your plate with as much food as you like, where as in Wetherspoon you get what you get, so you pays your money and you takes your choice. I've stayed in some PIs a few times, but only had their breakfast on a recent stay a few days ago. That was because it was a stopover on a bikepacking trip and it was easier, and I'd booked the meal deal. Actually one of the "Premier Inns" I've stayed at was a Hub by Premier Inn, and their breakfast options are limited, so the local Wethersoons was a better option anyway.
Typhoo !!! What a nostalgia !! Back in the 80's, I used to drink it often in Tokyo & U.S. !! I am originally from Tokyo ,but been living in the States for more than a half of my life !! I had asked what tea brands English really drank ,Typhoo was one of the choices they selected !! I love Yorkshire tea the best as a brand, though !! But,nothing really beats Irish Breakfast tea !!! I have always been a huge tea drinker & loved Earl grey the best ,but that changed when I started drinking Irish Breakfast tea !! Of course I love green tea & matcha tea a lot ,one of my most favourite tea !!💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
I don’t normally comment on videos but your content is incredible, I’ve watched a lot of reviews on TH-cam but your channel has definitely took my number 1 place
Another enjoyable review. Both are very good value, esp after some of your circa £14 breakfasts of late, I think the TL one edges it. Nutella, peanut butter and jam are nice in a toasted bagel by the way!
Great vlog and tasty to watch! The bite left in the end of the sausage at 3:25 I’m sure I can see E.T.s face??!! is this standard or extra (terrestrial)? 😂🤣
I went to Premier Inn Swansea Waterfront not so long ago for work and I wasn’t that impressed with there’s. I thought the Travelodge deal looked better in my Opinion… great video …. Smithy
I think some places have scrambled eggs that are pre mixed from a bottle. Wanted scrambled eggs at Morrison's once and was told there was none left, but can cook me a fried egg to my liking 😂
I was around the country delivering training sessions during the Covid era and stayed multiple times at both these places. Sadly all their kitchens were shut, and so I missed out on trying these breakfasts. However, I would go for the Travelodge breakfast if given a choice, but they were both close and at a good price.
@@everydayimeating3407 absolutely superb, ingredients are fresh, base doesn't get soggy even though they put a nice amount of sauce, Price is very reasonable aswell. Highly recommend 👌
My wife and I have only ever stayed in Premier Inn hotels, so agree that their breakfasts are pretty good. Under a tenner breakfasts were great, but now they are £10.99 .. I know, only £1 more, but for some reason that little bit extra drops the overall score slightly. We will have to try a Travelodge breakfast soon .. as many folk already know, you don't need to be staying there to have one their breakfasts.
not sure on price and choice if it compares to place like brewers fayre which is more set up to do breakfasts and so has more choice. and food not sitting a long time waiting for some one to come to get it and so be under the heat lamps or covered up so the steam takes away all the crispiness
Do you eat both breakfasts after each other. To look at I think the premier inn looked the best one except for the hard egg. They were both excellent value especially when you got the fruit juice, tea and coffee plus the sweet stuff as well. I didn't like the look of the bagel. Another good review
Id always butter my toast before i try anything, than use the S&P . Both places are about the same . But id pick travelodge for there coffee and crossaint.
isn't the Prem breakfast 'unlimited' e.g could have more than one plateful? which might make it the better one also? (in reality who has rhe stomach to sit through 3 full english breakfasts.. but in theory.)
I'm guessing most people don't redo the cooked options, but do what I do, load up the plate with a load of food all at once, and have cereal and toast as well. Had that this morning at the Premier Inn in Stratford Upon Avon and I'm still not hungry this evening at 5ish.
Never stayed at travel lodge and never had there breakfast but it looked really good and the takeaway coffee was a nice touch but having stayed at premier inn and had there breakfast I would go wit them because when I had it it was very very good.
Recently stayed at a travelodge in Portsmouth breakfast was good but the containers were never full all the time so never got the breakfast on the plate first time.
The fact that Premier Inn cook eggs to order along with porridge makes them the winner. Kind you the Costa coffee they serve isn't that nice! Hampton by Hilton do a pretty good inclusive breakfast
Hi from Melbourne, Australia..I love eggs..those don't look like scrambled eggs thatwe have in our cafes or restaurants..or even when we are cooking at home..crack eggs, whisk and add milk (a couple of glugs from the container)..and salt! Very jmportant and pepper..I love black pepper and dont mind seeing black flecks because Ive cooked it at home and know whats in it!!..gently melt butter and pour in eggs.. lifting from ouside of pan into the centre..heat on medium..they have to be buttery and not wattery.. oh! I only cook with free range..scrambled eggs only go watery when too much milk has been added and they arent stirred immediately and once combined take off the heat and serve..leaving in the pan to sit ..not good..so quick is the way to go..regards
I think they were very similar I liked Travelodge but I would have gone for the fried egg not scrambled but I think it had more going for it ...I would have picked travelodge as I liked the take out coffee, the croissants the nice tea the tasteful sausage....but not so much the mushroom but I wouldn't get them anyway....I think I could pick fried egg, sausage, bacon, beans tomato, toast and be very happy along with the fruit and croissant and nice toast...It seemed premier inn had fried eggs instead of scrambled
Most standard hotels serve a very similar breakfast . A manned breakfast buffet will cook to order you don't really get this in what I would consider a 3*** hotel .
I don't know how you are able to eat that amount of food for breakfast. Hahahaha. I suppose it will also depend on the hotel although in those chains everything is very standard. I tried the Travelodge a while ago and it was very good. Although I have to admit that the Premier Inn one looks good.
Surprised Travelodge didnt have any fried eggs. Bacon looked the best part. Crossiants, yoghurt, fruit & cup of beverage to go were nice addages. Premier looked better imo & the addages of pancakes got more points. The lack of cup to go is a downer but if you bring your own therma cup you could fill it up & drink some whilst in there & then take the rest with you ☺😛😜
The runny eggs become non runny after they have been out for a while, left long enough the yolks go really hard and cold and are horrible. It's why really fried eggs should only be part of a buffet is there is a bloke cooking them to order which is common in poor countries. But in the west? They do scrambled eggs. It's much more practical for a buffet.
Thats how the folk like their scrambled eggs on the whole, in the UK at least. I think it's shame, as well seasoned soft scrambled eggs are gorgeous. Scrambed eggs can be both my favourite egg preparation and least favourite depending on how they're cooked!
Which breakfast did you prefer?
Locations in description 😀
For me it's a draw.
I agree with your choice! Noice!
Everyone's mam always makes the best full English
Stayed at both these chains but only ever use Travelodge if we're unable to book into a Premier Inn that are simply way ahead when it comes to their rooms , service and breakfasts.
It was defo ahead for the breakfast
Only had to book into travel lodge twice when I couldn’t get into premier inn, now I refuse. Premier inn or I’m not going 😂
I agree, the Premier Inn looked lovely 😊
Both seemed decent for the price. Plus there is no limit on the amount you have, just throw brown sauce on the stuff you don't like and winner winner 😊

What no fryed eggs???
The sausage looked small , but all together it was ok

Hahaha I didn't even notice until now!
Personally, love the Travelodge breakfast. They do pancakes and bagels now. Yum..😋
The coffee to take away is great too
I prefer Premier Inn, but wish they did Bagels like Travelodge though. They make a great bacon butty.
@Temeraire101 it's funny because when bread is reduced at the end of the day in a supermarket, bagels are reduced in price quite regularly.
Getting a proper fried egg rather than scramble from dried eggs made the difference!
It really did!
Your breakfast reviews always makes me hungry
Breakfast is one of the best meals! 😋
@@everydayimeating3407 I agree 😊
Travel lodge definitely do have heniz beans says on the menu and website
that tom on breakfast 2 looked so nice . hate it when cafes ect stick a raw warmed up tom on your plate

Did you eat both breakfasts on the same morning?
I did not lol Theres no way I could eat that much food in one go. It was over 2 days
I actually thought he did too
I wondered about that too!!
The bread was in the black drawer next to the toaster
Yess!!!
I think some places have scrambled eggs that are pre mixed from a bottle.
Wanted scrambled eggs at Morrison's once and was told there was none left, but can cook me a fried egg to my liking 😂
Hahaha! why not just scramble the fried one lol
Primier inn. Travelodge don't have marmite and some sites it's just a Box with cornflskes and a bun in.
The premier inn was the best looking breakfast for me
Me too! 😀
I was around the country delivering training sessions during the Covid era and stayed multiple times at both these places. The prices were definitely good and they are pretty close with what they offer too
you can't really complain at either of those breakfasts they were both a great price
It is a good price especially for all you can eat!
Love your vids man. Dry sense of humour is grill with a B.
The buttery had a buttery flavour and the potato waffles needed more ‘potato flavouring ‘ 😂😂 . This channel is hilarious 😂

Travelodge for me, all you can eat good supply, fresh pancakes and coffee to for 9 pound awesome.
The takeaway coffee was a great bonus!
I would like to have known whether it was hot or just warm.
I've yet to find a Travelodge that does a proper breakfast
Did you film this in Leeds?
Yes, I put the locations in the description of the video
Those containers at Travelodge probably ensures everything goes soggy :-)
Do you have to stay overnight to use there resterant s ❤ Ur vids
No you do not. You can just walk in and pay to just have the breakfast in both places

Premier Inn for me (although the veggie version); they actually use Heinz beans as well.

Don't need milk to make scrambled eggs at all.
@@daniellatheczarina2u915only if you want heavy scrambled eggs do you drop the milk.
Did you make it or buy it
I should pick Premier Inn breakfast 9/10 and I like that breakfast buffet at Leeds Wellington Street
Free breakfast tip. If you own 64 shares of Whitbread, you get free breakfasts for yourself and a guest at Premier Inn.
I must buy some Whitbread!
does anybody know what they put in big fruit bowl ( fruit cocktail juice)
good to note that the travel lodge offered quorn sausages
Premier Inn because my household gets Brewer's Fayre vouchers in the post 🙂

In the Premier one that is.
They are both great value
I agree with that!
Personally I like my fried egg over hardbuts that's mostly for a ham egg and cheese on a hard roll.
Add a coffee, light and sweet, and you've got the New York equivalent of the Full English.
Its got to be Premier Inn, our local Staines Upon Thames. First rate.
They just take it for me, although the take away tea or coffee at Travelodge is a great idea
Travel lodge where I stayed before had a Toby
The bread drawer looks like a small card filing cabinet.
I'm staying at a Travelodge in Blackpool till Friday, i find the breakfast ok, I've had better but had worse, it fills a hole lol
Bit of salt on scrambled eggs and you'll be fine. And Brown sauce obv

Premier,by a whisker for me. Only because of the eggs.👍
The eggs do make a difference!
Don't they supply knives ?
Is it me, or are all Baked Beans the same size?
Premier inn for me for the same reasons as you and choice plus I like my eggs sunnyside up not that powdered eggs!!
