Stayed in one of these for three nights on London in November last year. Could not fault it. Only cost me £250 including dinner and breakfast. Right next to Westminster Abby. Brilliant. 👍🏻

I absolutely love these hotels. I think I’ve now stayed in all of the Hub hotels in London and even one in Edinburgh. The housekeepers in these hotels are clearly extremely highly trained and care deeply because my rooms have always been absolutely spotless, the AC is always in good working order; I remember last year in the 40° heat, my room was beautifully cool and nice. Receptionists and night porters are always attentive, friendly and quick to respond to any questions or requests. The breakfast is nice. The rooms are brilliantly well sound isolated, you can hear nothing apart from what’s inside your room. Brilliant water pressure. BrillIant TV with AirPlay to watch something to unwind before sleep (and some do have HDMI input just below the TV for laptops etc). I’ve just literally never been able to find any complaint other than, there’s no tea and coffee in the room, and you have to go down to the bar for your morning brew before you shower (it is completely free mind and you can help yourself as much as you like)
Also, if you are staying, that little shelf under the bed for luggage slides out, took me a few visits to realise, very nice if you just need to slide your suitcase out to grab a clean pair of socks or whatever when you’re getting ready…

I stay in the Shoreditch one regularly; it is always clean and welcoming and I like their breakfasts. My only niggle is that the air con refuses to go lower than 19 degrees but that's too hot for a perimenopausal like me - more air con control please other than that, fabulous.

I love the Hubs. I’ve not stayed at Kings Cross but both the Covent Garden one and Tottenham Court Road one are great too. The only design flaw/word of warning is the lack of tea and coffee facilities in the room and the small assault course of heavy, key-carded doors between the complementary hot drinks machine in the bar and your room door. I’d recommend bringing your own reusable travel mug to avoid a clumsy thumb scalding (been there, bought the burn gel from Covent Garden Boots!)

Thanks Tim, very interesting as a builder and hotelier into more compact living and accommodation. I previously built narrowboats and often people looking into buying one would be concerned over space. I would tell them, "you can only sit in one seat at a time so make it a comfortable one!" Having a huge space just means more heating, cleaning and more walking!

Rather posh for such a compact room!
    The Doorbell was very snazzy!
    Nice tone too!
Nice big comfy looking bed I agree with you Tim tho I don't like beds next to walls much makes it feel abit closterphobic (know I spelt that wrong, but you know what I mean!)
Nifty little work station & very narrow little window.
The TV was excellent liked the Wake up Alarm on the TV, that's a great idea.
Handy storage behind the full length Mirror!
I liked the Bathroom sink too Tim very modern & classy & a Nice clean Bathroom, the mood lighting was nice lots of great buttons to play about with adjusting the ambiance & the Air Conditioning.
Great for a nights stay tho I can't imagine a long stay in a mini room like that.
But certainly comfy for a short stay
That's the first time I've seen a Hotel Hub Tim!☺️

My wife and I stayed in the Westminster hub last year. We loved it and it was cheaper than a normal premier Inn in London. We did upgrade to the larger hub room which was smaller than the standard premier Inn rooms but larger than your hub room and for ten quid was the right decision as that little extra gave more space but still felt cosy and unique. Read, really recommend the hubs.

I stayed in these twice. The first an alarm went off at 5 in the morning, I honestly thought it was the fire alarm, I got up and went to leave in my jammies. Realised when I looked out the spyglass in the door no one else was up and moving.
Second time I was put in a basement room (no windows, really dark atmosphere to me and... HAD TO MAKE MY OWN BED. No word of a lie. Sheets and everything were just piled up neatly at the end of the bed. And my company paid £189 for me to stay there.
    Never again 🤣
Never had any issues with a normal premier inn (I travel for work and always stay in them). The 'tech savvy' upgrades just aren't worth it.

I've stayed in the one by covent garden and I actually really liked it. Just for a few nights is perfect. Great price, was small but they made great use of maximising storage so it wasn't too small and the controls were fun to play with lol. Although one pet peeve was the control panel sometimes accidentally got triggered by my head/pillow when sleeping. Would be good if it was maybe by the side wall instead or if you could "lock" it out. Overall would recommend for a short stay ☺️

Stayed at the Hub one in Edinburgh Haymarket in October 2021, and for a couple of nights was lovely - the larger room does allow you to get round the bed, and all comfy and nice. The tea and coffee (in case anyone wondered) is from a machine downstairs in the bar with proper mugs - just fill up when you like and take it to your room - and it's Costa beans for the coffee, so all the niceness of that whenever you like. The bar is also very reasonably priced (not ripoff hotel prices at all.) I do think they're on a winner with this personally and a few more in other cities would give you more choice.

I've used the hubs in Edinburgh a lot, and I think they are fantastic. Would definitely pick the bigger room option if more than one person is in the room, or if you have a lot of luggage. You also get a full size desk, similar layout to the regular premier Inn rooms but with all the new tech of the hubs. I've not had a bad experience yet!

I've stayed at the Rose Street one a couple of times, and am due to stay there in May. For my first stay, back in 2019, to check it out, I was very impressed, and I only paid around £120 for four nights. In some respects, I actually prefer them to a normal Premier Inn. Shame their prices have risen astronomically though, and they seemed to have forgotten what their USP was.

@@Bungle2010 yeah it is a shame. Rose street is worth it considering the location, and having a Travelodge directly across the road that is almost the same price and definitely no where near as clean or comfortable. Haymarket is always a little cheaper and not really that far out of the way if you are looking to save a bit of money too 👍

    • @Bungle2010
      @Bungle2010 ปีที่แล้ว

@@Misslittlelouder I ended up not going in May in the end, and postponing until September due to the rail disruption. I did check out the reviews for the nearby Travelodge a while ago and they didn't look that great. Everyone was saying the Hub is superior. The Haymarket site is a little out of the way for me. One of the main things I like about Rose Street is its central location and easy access to everything. It's only a short walk from the station, and from the Royal Mile. I also know a couple of nice pubs a short walk away, which I frequent for meals. Previously I've stayed at the Best Western Bruntsfield, which is also out of the way. It's a very nice hotel, but a long way from everthing.

I stayed at this exact location back in December and definitely think with these micro hotels it can be luck of the draw. Room ended up still being quite expensive due to London pricing and we were down in the basement - your standard room was certainly much nicer than ours so I think it just depends on availablity. Overall though I do still like the concept of these hotels a lot, I've stayed at a Point A location in London which is a super similar chain and think they're worth the money.

Just booked my first hub in Edinburgh next year. Looks like a very fancy easy hotel size wise

I stayed in one in Brompton and was very impressed with the standard room, going back to a normal Premier Inn which I done last time it seemed so dated

I was in room 3036 at that hotel in November and loved it. I said the same thing that you did - I don't know how two people would get along there because it'd be like playing Tetris every time someone needed to move around but I am only one person. What I liked best was the quiet! Because the rooms are so small, it's not a party hotel and there are no kids running up and down the hallways. The only thing I wish they had - instead of two storage places beneath the bed (for those wondering, one is a drawer and the other is like a pull out platform), they should have a step stool. I'm not the smallest person in the world but it was hard getting up on the bed. Will definitely check some of the other locations out.

Hi Tim an excellent video and thank you so much for showing us a a Hub by Premier Inn Hotel. The room looked lovely and the bed does look comfy. I would rather myself personally stay in a normal Premier Inn.

LOL. I much appreciated the "shoes off." So many reviewers (especially in the US but honestly everywhere) jump on the beds with dirty outdoor shoes, and some even step on the beds while getting on. Animals! ;) Just having fun. But I am glad to see it.

I stayed in one of the London locations back in 2017. Came across them through the Premierinn website and took a punt on it. Loved the experience and I agree, there should be more of these throughout the country.

I love a hub by Premier Inn. They are now my default option in London (including your Kings X one) … but I’ve also stayed at two Edinburgh ones too.

I stayed in one of these rooms in Edinburgh and you pretty much nailed it in your review. Great hotels for a decent price, really comfortable and perfect for a couple of nights.
I'd love for you to review a Yotel, that's the hotel chain from the people at Yo Sushi, they look to be similar to these Hub hotels but a little bit more premium.

I always stay in Premier Inn's Tim when The Malmaison and Radisson Blu hotels are not available , ( The Radisson Blu at Manchester Airport is magnificent by the way ) Premier inn is a creation of Whitbread PLC when they bought out tbe Premier Lodge group in 2004 and merged two hotel chains together to form the Premier Inn , somebody once told me from Whitbread that they originally created tbe hotel chain to avoid paying too much tax on tbe huge beer profits they were making , maybe a victim of its own success as its now makes up 70 percent of Whitbread's earnings.

We've stayed at hub Rose Street Edinburgh, a number of times! Love it. The only criticism is the bed stuck in the corner, so whoever sleeps against the wall gets the shirt straw! Otherwise 95/100

Looks nice. Think they were rolling these out in 2019 when last in London. There was one near Westminster. Looks like they have shrunk the room in half but upped the tech. The thing I always want in a room is a mini fridge to keep drinks cool. And a fraction bigger.

Great hotel. 5 minutes away from King's Cross. Really well located if you want to visit Cambridge for a day or for an Arsenal game. You check-in by yourself and also for the check-out. The standard room has more than enough space for one person and I'd say also for two people. There's a Pret just in front, so no need for breakfast. There's also a Tesco, Nando's or McDonald's in the area. If you're a runner, you're just right next to Regent's Canal. One bad point : the AC makes a sort of spray noise like every 2 minutes, even during the night, so you'll probably need earplugs if you're easily disturbed in your sleep. Otherwise, I really recommend.

Thank you, Tim! Thanks to this review I decided to stay at the new Hub on Farringdon Road. (When I first heard of them, I thought they'd be too small.) Loved it! The staff were so friendly and helpful (sorting out minor issues quickly). The breakfast is great value at seven quid - you'd pay that for a croissant and coffee at one of the many coffee house chains. Returning to the same one with my hubby next month, so staying in one of the bigger rooms. As a general comment, I love the pace of your videos: succinct and entertaining! :) Angie (The Wide Frontier channel on TH-cam).

Thanks for the review, I just booked at their newest one opening up in Marylebone. The biggest problem is they've really gone up in price. Most are £200+ for a weekend booking. Thankfully I got mine a bit cheaper at £116.
