any moment of eye contact between Anthony and Kate is sexier than literally anything that happened in season one, their chemistry is so much better than Simon and Daphne
I agree the chemistry between characters is better in season two but… when Simon and Daphne go to get ice cream and he licked the spoon, that was something else. Or the scene where they’re in library and Simon is uh… performing a certain service while Daphne is on the ladder. Like I literally wanted to be Daphne in that moment. But I may be biased given my lifelong obsession with old libraries. I’d live in a Victorian or regency library if I could.
Unpopular Opinion: I preferred Kate and Anthony over Simon and Daphne, since I felt as though they had more chemistry, plus I enjoy "Enemies to Lovers" over "Fake Relationship inevitably becomes real" trope.
I do, too! I always say Daphne and Simon were like teenagers that discovered their first love. And Anthony and Kate felt like the more mature version. Both actors did an amazing job.
Your reactions to the bee sting cracked me right up. “I would be so awkward on set if I had to breathe heavily in someone’s face over and over again.” “Feel my bosom.” “It’s like prom all over again.” 🤣🤣🤣
It's always a real sign of true love when a person prefers your real name, all the extra syllables and everything, to some nickname that the rest of the world calls you. "I'll never call her Kat. She's Ykaterin. I long to linger over every syllable, and draw the name out in my mouth as long as possible." I mean, come on. If that's not love, what is, right? Of course, it's also a sign that, while the rest of the world sees the mask (and the nickname), YOU see "the real person behind the mask" (or the original, but disused, name).
This season was so low on nudity but was so high on "wanting". It was more like a cataclysmic war of emotions and duties. It felt more relatable to us first-borns of our families coz we often grow up not just to be the parent of our sibling, but also end up being a care-taker of our parents. It often conflicts our own identity and our own needs. Many of us sacrifice our needs and desires, our dreams and aspirations all in the name of responsibility. Kate's character is so close to my heart. I could feel myself taking every decision she took and I honestly would have done the same. It was also scandalous to think that we could keep ourselves over other people. So I felt really connected to Kate. I don't know what a real life Anthony would be like for me.... Maybe he is one of the most toxic fictional heores that women love to romanticize. I really wanted to know how you see him- a good guy with bad temper or a big time jerk. Coz dudes like Anthony are like Romantic junk food. Not sure whether we should be tempted to them or should we look for someone rather simple.... Honestly, Kate feeling overshadowed by her sister's beauty is a very real feeling that a lot of girls face. Its extremely tempting to be drawn to a guy who chooses us over a pretty sister or friend. So I was expecting a more detailed version of this one. But whatever suits you..
"Romantic junk food" I love that. I think the actor Jonathan Bailey managed to make Anthony's bad temper comical, to give him more depth than the script probably implied, but for sure the entire "push and pull" is exciting in fiction but so immature in real life, you wouldn't actually want that from a man
Me too. I like then even better than Charlotte and Georges Some say the spinoff is better but for me so far it's still Kanthony. With Queen Charlotte we're essentially back to s*x = love. I found it entertaining (and Georges' storyline was heartbreaking), but romance-wise it wasn't up to par. I kind of like the idea that you can have romance with only minimal s*x. Hopefully we get a bit more of that in S3, though I doubt it.
the 3 false ideas about love that I discovered while watching his videos: 1 - attraction = love 2 - love is eternal and if it does not come true you will suffer from it all your life 3 - you can't resist sexual tension
This season proved really important to me. Im not usually into romance novels, but I love Kate and Anthony's story so much that I read the book while homebound due to Covid. Anthony's determination that he would not outlive his father was like a lightbulb moment for me, making me realise why I was struggling with the fact that I was going to be dad. My dad is thankfully still alive, but he did leave me and my mum for someone else - and I realised I was worried I'd do the same; like Anthony I was unable to concieve of surpassing my father in any way. It was the spur I needed to get myself into therapy to talk about it. Sadly, not long after my therapist helped me work through it all, my wife miscarried. But im still glad that when we try again, I'll be in a better position to handle the impending responsibilities, all thanks to seeing myself in a man from a Regency-era romance story.
Anthony was absolutely positive that he will die at the same age that his father died. It was a knowledge he carried with himself ever since he witnessed his death. Hence complete rejection of love - if he loves, or if he is loved, it will cause so much pain and suffering, that it would be better to cease any chance at it. Hence his issue with Kate and his courtship with her sister. In the books tho, Edwina sees right through him. And in the books, when he did get married to Kate (because of a bee, they were too close and were seen), that's where the real magic started. He would try to stay away from home even though he missed her terribly, and when they were in public, people were convinced it's a love match, because of how he looked at her. It was beautiful. It was him who said "I burn for you" in the books to Kate. I do wish they took more from the books. It was my favorite.
15:42 ok THIS is my favorite part of this video. "That's how you kiss somebody.", "Joe, don't laugh at me. Joe, this is how, it works ok.", "Everyone watch Bridgerton, take notes, I know I am." 😂
I love Kate Anthony because even though they were fools at times, they were equal partners. The slow burn, the chemistry, the dynamic was sexier thn whatever i saw in season 1. I was so happy when they finally got together.
In the books, it's entirely different. He never was in that position to marry kate sister. When she got stung by the bee they were caught by others and had to marry because of it. So it's interesting that the show went this route.
He actually tried to suck the venom out, so it looked like he was sucking on her breast! I get why they chose to avoid doing another “caught in a compromising situation” plot point, since they did that with Daphne and Simon already.
Great video, but you left out a scene very important about the couple, at least to me. At the Featherington ball, when they dance and all the other people leave de dancefloor and Anthony said “just keep looking at me, no one else matters” its HUGE for two people like them who are always putting duty e society impressions of them first.
What do I think of Kate and Anthony? Only that they are the best slow-burn, enemies to lovers, and regency romance of all time! The pining, the yearning, the banter. They’re so well suited and you can tell why they like each other instinctually by the second episode. God, there two have destroyed my life truly. Im so glad this channel has revisited bridgerton because that first video that dismissed the bee scene hurt my soul.
Kate and Anthony are my favorite couple so far! They truly feel like equals me and that is so fun to see. Where is with Simon and Daphne it was always Simon who was above Daphne and it was boring to me.
Totally agree. The never-addressed power imbalance in S1 was supposed to be sexy but was just cringey. And Daphne and Simon didn't seem to know each other or get vulnerable before they were suddenly in love. Whereas I could believe Anthony and Kate, after seeing them gradually find common ground & share vulnerable moments.
Plus I always perceived Daphne as pretty toxic. Like the way she raped Simon for a chance to become pregnant and then behaving as if *he* did something wrong and *he* needed to come around and change and it's never really addressed that she violated him. Like yes, he could have communicated more clearly, and yes, it is problematic to let your dead father have such a hold on you so that you forbid yourself to have children just to spite your dead relative instead of shaping your own future and making your family into something he would have never approved of, but that is not something that's equally as bad as raping someone who doesn't want children. And it really gives me the ick how the showrunners did not comment clearly enough on how wrong that was within the show and that they basically rewarded Daphne with Simon eventually coming around and giving her what she wanted. Like that made it really difficult for me to root for the both of them.
I liked Kate and Anthony more because I think they have more chemistry. And as much as I love the fake dating trope the enemies to love trope is superior if done right. And in this they did it impeccably. Also the slow burn was everything.
Can we get a longer video? Maybe one that touches upon the entire season. This was a god-send for us older children, and it would be interesting to hear your perspective as to why these two knuckleheads made some of the choices they made in the show.
Yaaay! This episode is finally here! I really enjoyed your take about how their personalities influenced their communication. If you do a follow up, I'd love to hear your thoughts about how grief impacted their lives and, due to how their mothers grieved, their perception of their roles in the family.
I never understood why people liked the “you are the bane of my existence and the object of all my desires.” Line when there was such a lovely proposal that didn’t sound crazy and honestly gross lol. I much prefer his softer side with her and when he has a panic attack about the bee sting it was such a beautiful intense moment. Love them ❤
What I find interesting about the Bridgerton series of books (have only seen isolated clips of the series, but it is inescapable these days) is how Julia Quinn is very consciously subverting the central tension of Jane Austen's novels: what happens to young women of good families if their fathers/older brothers don't prepare properly for their daughters'/sisters' futures. Anthony is also a subversion of the cliche' of the scion of an aristocratic family as an entitled, spoiled, rather louche rake who is caught up in exercising his privilege rather than taking care of his responsibilities to his family/title/estate/ and wider community. Anthony can seem overbearing and obnoxious to modern eyes, especially in regards to the fates/reputations of his sisters. He became the Viscount as a very young adult, has never allowed himself to grieve, and the weight of his responsibilities crush him at times. He also is indulging in some magical thinking about his own imminent demise, which is probably linked to his grief for the early, tragic death of his father. He can come off as humorless, but he is very responsible, and also very generous (also a subversion of a Jane Austen trope of older brothers of the heroines being stingy). I quite like him, actually. Jonathan, if you haven't read any of Jane Austen's novels, I hope you do. I think you would really enjoy them. Austen's characters are so vivid and relatable, and she has a razor-sharp wit about the manners and mores of her time (and really, ours as well). I don't know if you were joking when you wondered aloud what men of that era did for exercise, but upper-class men of that era lived very outdoor lives. They grew up learning to ride, shoot, and hunt, and continued those pursuits throughout their lives (sometimes to the exclusion of actually managing their estates, to their families' chagrin). They also learned to fence, and sometimes box, and along with their sisters, would have had lessons from a dancing master from a young age, since dances were rather elaborate line-dance or promenade types, for the most part. The waltz (which we see some in Bridgerton) wasn't introduced in England until around 1812. Knowing how to dance properly was an important marker of class for men as well as women, so several hours a week would have been dedicated to learning the popular and traditional dances of the day. Altogether, that's a lot of exercise. Once the boys went off to boarding school at around 13, or Oxford/Cambridge at age16-18 there were always more sports (they had to channel all that energy and testosterone somehow), although I'm not sure exactly what, as sports like rugby, soccer/football or field hockey weren't invented until later in the 19th century.
I wish you would do a deep dive on these first born as well like you did with the youngest sibling the other day!!! As a first born myself, I really feel myself portrayed through Kate and Anthony personality and struggle
Thank you for this video. I have met a lot of people who talk about their relationships and say things like: "The one who loves more always has less power." And yes, if there is a great power imbalance in a relationship, it can be problematic. But here you talk about humility and that is beautiful. I also have some suggestions on videos, I hope that is okay: Gilmore Girls gets therapized: You could take a look at mother-daughter relationships, friendships and romantic relations. There are a lot of all them. It has a lot of episodes and I understand if it too much, but I believe there is some interesting stuff in there, especially because you can watch certain characters evolve over years, which might be a bit closer to reality than a complete turnaround in a couple of weeks or months. Therapist reacts raw to Hi Ren. A song and music video I stumbled upon recently. The video, the lyrics, the words said at the end and the comments caused me to suggest it here.
I love the Kate’s and Anthony’s final dancing; especially love, the part where Kates eyebrows did the scrunchie expression. Also, will we be doing another Bridgerton, and Penelope? And maybe eventually on Queen Charlotte?
I can answer the fitness question. In London, in particular, there were a couple of notable fencing and boxing clubs. Riding is also a form of exercise at which Anthony, apparently, excels. He is often seen engaging in outdoor activities like hunting, riding, playing whatever that game was, etc, which might imply that he is of the Corinthian set and hung about with other sportsmen (often betting on each other's performance in a given arena). They actually had some really dangerous races and even had these things called velocipedes that were akin to bicycles and lacked breaks. At night, of course, they spend a lot of time dancing. And, not to be weird, but there was basically a Zagat's guide to, uh, houses of ill repute that circulated in the late 1700s/early 1800s, and it was as important, socially, to be seen in some of those places as it was to be seen at Almack's or White's (Hariette Wilson's house comes to mind). So, lacking an actual job apart from the running of the family estates, Anthony, specifically, seems likely to spend quite a lot of his leisure time (of which he has an abundance) engaged in sports and other active pursuits. Admittedly, much of his activities seem related to cardio. So where does he get his "guns?" Well, perhaps it is the guns! Have you ever held a muzzle-loader? They're incredibly heavy. The boxing and hunting probably give him some decent muscle definition in the arms. Fencing is really hard on the knees, but that and riding would give him those calves all the guys wanted back then. And generous cardio to keep him trim. Of course, he also had access to lots of amazing food and drank like a fish, so I feel like those would have balanced out to a less trim physique.
OMG now you NEED to watch Queen Charlotte! I'd suggest commenting on the relationship built between the King and Queen and also doing a video maybe on the mental health of the King as well. ^_^ Thanks for the amazing work
To answer some of Jono's questions, the game they were playing is Pall Mall, the upper crust of society use to have boxing at Cambridge, along with horseback riding and boat racing for sports. Also, agree, hands have so many sensors that physical contact is a great act of intimacy.
Not to mention boxing. Boxing was becoming hugely popular among the younger set of the Ton, whereas fencing, while still done, was more the previous generation's sport. Also carriage driving would allow for a bit of that as well as handling the reigns for a set of horses was quite tricky (especially if one drove the quirky 2 in front and 3 in back set of horses)
Hi, Jon! Can you discuss more about Anthony and his grieving? I think it's also important because what I like about S2, and Anthony's backstory is because they showed how unprocessed grief caused to someone. And I think it could be an interesting topic to discuss. Thank you!
Loving the Bridgerton Therapized series ❤ Would love a follow-up set for Queen Charlotte. So many interesting relationship dynamics! And not just romantic ones.
Could you do Roman Holiday with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck character's relationship? It's a very short "relationship" but definitely one exploring further. Great video !
If you’re ever at a loss for new ideas you should really do a video (or videos) on the family dynamics in The Umbrella Academy or like character analyses on each of the characters because I feel like you would have so much to say about each of them and I’d love to hear your take in the show as well
I relate to Anthony in that I do act in the needs of my family but I don't listen to them. I acted for them and took on more responsibilities than what was required of me, distancing myself from my family. I'm currently working on this and it's become easier for me.
I think it's a bit more complex than this. For Anthony, duty is a complicated thing. This is a man who loves his family dearly but resents that he had to do this job long before he was ready. He often takes that resentment out on his siblings, who he sees as getting to choose their own paths, not realizing that that really isn't the case. All of them have roles they are expected to fulfill to not be seen as blight on their family. Then, he saw what love did to his mother, and the deep down person became afraid of what it would do to him. That's the underlying reason as to why he's trying to find a woman that he knows he won't love. He says it's about duty and status, but really, it's to protect himself from the incredible pain it put his mother through and the woman from pain that he could inflict with his passing. The problem is that Anthony really does want love. and he's created these relationships (Siena) where he can imagine he has, it but he can turn it off at any time and not really be affected. Siena, however, makes him realize that in doing so he's involving another person who is getting hurt in the end. That's why we see him turning to prostitutes in the beginning of S2 because he can imagine all he wants with these women and not be concerned about hurting them. He also begins to double down on his duty because he thinks this is all he has and can have. That doesn't mean that the resentment isn't still there. Throw in a smattering of self loathing because he feels like a jerk for how he treats his family and how he treated Siena, and then this notion that he will never be as good as his father and you have one seriously messed up individual. For Kate, it isn't just that she feels a duty because she's the oldest in the family and at the time was in the best position to step in. It's also about what she feels she owes Mary and by proxy Edwina. In fact, she feels so indebted to them that she feels that she has to sacrifice the things that she really wants in life to help them. The fact that Mary, who came from a higher social class than she had and treated no different than she had Edwina, meant a great deal to her.
We knew that closer personality in the first season with how he treated his sister in the first season. It was all about "I'm your big brother and it's my obligation to find you a suitable match that I 100% approve of, and you will marry who I chose for you because I know best"
I'm just that Kate will use her position in society as the new Viscountess Bridgerton to introduce Indian tea into all the fashionable tea-shops in London as opposed to the, as she put it, "pitiful excuse for tea the English so enjoy" which she hates. Of course, if the nephew Queen Charlotte mentioned to Edwina was Prince Friedrich from season 1 and if Edwina ends up marrying him (they're both sweethearts, I think they'd be very happy together) then as a princess she'll be in an even better position to introduce Indian tea into society.
They keep outdoing themselves with each season. Have you watched Queen Charlotte: a bridgerton story? It gutted me. I would love to see a video about Charlotte and George, and loving someone with mental illness.
I love all of these and especially Queen Charlotte. Never thought I would love a spin off so much. Who ever casts Bridgerton somehow finds the most beautiful young people in the world. No one in those times looked like that.
I really liked them. But got so tired when both had realised they liked each other but kept finding reasons to be apart First him was like LETS DO THIS and she was NO, MY SISTER Then she change her mind and was like LETS DO THIS and he was like NO MY DUTY And at the end after the failing of the sister marriage they were both LETS DO THIS and everyone around them KNEW but were like THEY CAN'T, OUR REPUTATION!! I have no more patience for that type of stuff
Well, that's what slow burns are like. Also, this kind of romance has precedence in literature, it's a very old trope. For a similar set-up (in a way) see "The Age of Innocence". But I understand that not everyone has the patience for it. That's me and romance in YA fiction, when the protagonists are pondering for chapters the "Does he/she love me?" question and all the while I am like "God damn it, just talk to one another already, will you?".
I haven't realised until know that when he proposes to Edwina (whom he is not in love with), the proposal is grand and romantic. When he proposes to Kate after she wakes up from her accident, it's very matter-of-fact and awkward.
Everyone else: Oh I love the dance scene, the music's so good and the way they look at each other is so romantic 😍 Jonathan: Why is he so buff? Their teeth are too good, it's taken me out of it. 😂😂
I much preferred the book portrayal of Kate - she had a fear of thunderstorms and it counterpointed Anthony’s fear so nicely. They both had a weakness that was based on childhood trauma but most people would see as irrational. I really wish this had been kept in
Therapize Heywood's various suitors: Sidney, Stringer, Lennox and Colbourne in Sanditon... + Sir Edward, Lady Denham, the Babbington's, Rev Hankins, Georgiana and Lockhart, Otis, Samuel and Lady Susan, Tom & Mary Parker, and the Montrose family... So much material to dig into in Sanditon!
About the exercising in regency era: every gentleman has to be good on a horse and good at fencing, both of which are quite demanding physical activities =) I'd say it's fencing
Regency era nobles were supposed to be trim but NOT fit like as portrayed here. Cut muscles belonged to the working class, nobles were supposed to look more sleek. It was unfashionable at the time to be heavy, but also unfashionable to be muscular. The show is just getting actors muscled to meet Romance Novel Cover Model (RNCM?) aesthetic.
I've been told that actors use breath mints as a courtesy to their cast mates. Which is probably obvious to most of us, but I've also heard that they will eat garlic or something equally offensive when they aren't particularly fond of their acting partner. Other times it's only done as a practical joke. Perhaps to break the awkwardness of the situation. Your commentary during the more passionate scenes really cracked me up. So, I thought I'd share my little tidbit of knowledge on the subject.😄
I'd be curious to see some 90s and 00s relationships therapies. I know you like Buffy so Willow and Tara. But also the evolution of Felicity/Noel/Ben in Felicity. There's also a British show Press Gang and the Lynda/Spike dynamic is electric. But Lynda on her own as a study in ambition versus romantic passion was and is fascinating to me. As a teen seeing a young woman put her career before a guy was very wholesome (even though she had some unpleasant behaviours). There's a clip of her character being interviewed on a show call Crazy Stuff which is standalone and iconic.
I think you should do a video about a movie rust and bone. It is a French movie about handicap, love and anger. The love story is amazing and not soft at all.
What did they do for fitness in regency era England. Most likely swordsmanship. If the men served in the military they would likely have used the sabre in the cavalry or the cutlass in the navy. Another possibility is the broadsword. Noblemen also carried rapiers as their dress sword, but if they practiced with the rapier or used it for illegal duels varied between individuals.
You need to see season 3 . For me is the best because shows a real difficulty. The king’s sickness is so sad and the queen is so strong, that they surpasses everything and keep their duties
Whilst you're on the Bridgerton train, it would be so valueable to hear your opinion on Queen Charlotte and King George, seeing as he suffered from mental illness
Fitness if noble society in that time and before then, was horseback riding, fencing, some took boxing (but not many-bruises are unbecoming), swimming, dancing, tennis, shuttlecock and handball.
I guess one problem I have with this is that “taking liberties” in a time period without birth control would at least put the woman at risk for having her entire life ruined and so while it might be romantic to modern audiences, it’s incredibly selfish and cruel on Anthony’s part because even if they got married, she could still face public shame and if they didn’t get married and this got out, she would be unable to recover. Meanwhile, he could still face some public shaming, but it wouldn’t be as bad for a man with a title.
What I believe is if you know each other and you love each other in that way and your maturity level matches what you want to do then it's right the problem with that seen is I can tell the maturity level doesn't match what they are thinking I feel like they need to get to know each other more first
I have a video request idea… how should a person deal with helping a close family member when they are about to lose a parent? Recently my cousin-in-law who I’m close with learned that he will lose his dad to cancer. What’s the best way to help him get through this time as a family?
Everyone keeps saying it is like 'Pride and Prejudice'. But they are so very Benedict and Beatrice, its unreal. Though both could be correct since Elizabeth and Darcy are probably just Benedict and Beatrice fan fiction.
@@thallium6754 Ooooh, ok. I misunderstood. See, context is important. 😊 I think I have never seen that particular play, so I am less familiar with it. I am more of a "Hamlet", "Othello", "Macbeth", "The Tempest" kind of gal. I watched "Titus Andronicus" with Anthony Hopkins, it was soooo violent. I have never read this particular play from the Bard, so I was really unprepared for it.
After a few more Bridgerton videos - I expect you to stay up to date with the show for as long as it continues, I want to see the following shows Therapized: The Good Place Crazy Ex-Girlfriend The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt The Marvellous Mrs Maisel Why Women Kill Hacks Loot Pachinko
Hello! Can you do a video about Penelope I adore her and I feel like people don’t understand her character that’s why they hate her. I understand how it feels to be put aside society like her! Thank youuu
I wish they had kept Kate's deep fear of thunderstorms from the book. That scene in the library during the storm could have been so good.
I craved more backstory for Kate. Hope to see it in S3.
@@em8066Me too
It would've been nice, but once they'd made the sisters Indian there was no way she'd have been cripplingly afraid of thunderstorms, the monsoon season would've done a lot to desensitise her to it
I thought the same when comparing tv show vs book
The enemies to lovers, Pride and Prejudice vibes is a big reason I loved their season. It also managed to be so sexy while being a really slow burn.
YES. The intellectual competition and banter is just sooooooo good.

THISSSSSSSS
After this beautiful love story with this gorgeous couple, many people's perspective on love has definitely changed. 💕
I agree
Agreed
Unpopular Opinion: I preferred Kate and Anthony over Simon and Daphne, since I felt as though they had more chemistry, plus I enjoy "Enemies to Lovers" over "Fake Relationship inevitably becomes real" trope.
I do, too! I always say Daphne and Simon were like teenagers that discovered their first love.
And Anthony and Kate felt like the more mature version. Both actors did an amazing job.
Is that an unpopular opinion?
Same, I also found it just more believable that they would overcome their issues if they were a real life couple.
I totally agree. The scene when Anthony walks passed Kate and both their pinkies reach out to each other. My heart melted! Love!
I agree. I mean, I totally enjoyed season 1, but I *loved* Kathony’s love story.
Your reactions to the bee sting cracked me right up. “I would be so awkward on set if I had to breathe heavily in someone’s face over and over again.” “Feel my bosom.” “It’s like prom all over again.” 🤣🤣🤣
I agree he is so funny xD
In the book he tries to suck the bee venom or in his panic, so it's even more awkward.
@@roaaoife8186I’m so glad they decided not to do that on the show 😆 I was so worried
😂😂😂😂😂
"Also his teeth are too good. It has taken me out of it." My gosh this had me wheezing xD
A lot of people love how he called her her real name - Kathani.
Honestly, Kate feeling overshadowed by her sister's beauty is a very real feeling that a lot of girls face. Its extremely tempting to be drawn to a guy who chooses us over a pretty sister or friend. So I was expecting a more detailed version of this one. But whatever suits you..
that'S the stuff we want!
Totally agree with what you said except for saying Edwina was the prettier sister. Simone Ashley is beautiful.
@@robinprice3663 *In the book* Edwina is far more beautiful than Kate that even makes her insecure
"Romantic junk food" I love that. I think the actor Jonathan Bailey managed to make Anthony's bad temper comical, to give him more depth than the script probably implied, but for sure the entire "push and pull" is exciting in fiction but so immature in real life, you wouldn't actually want that from a man
Kate is extremely beautiful too
I preferred Kate and Anthony FAR more than Simon and Daphne. Mostly because I like Kate but also because I find Anthony more attractive.
Precisely, I found Kate and Anthony to be more compelling and engaging, and the second season was far more interesting.
I agree 💖

You definitely need to do Charlotte’s story with her and George! I would love to see a video about that
nobody cares
I honestly need a Mended Light Epsiode for this and all future Bridgerton related media
Yes! Please do Charlotte and George. Especially George. 😢 I'm having a hard time getting through the show because of George's struggles.💔 😢
I agree
I'm rooting for all the books to be made into their own season.
the 3 false ideas about love that I discovered while watching his videos:
1 - attraction = love
2 - love is eternal and if it does not come true you will suffer from it all your life
3 - you can't resist sexual tension
I agree very much with this. Putting lust in the place if love is very dangerous.
"She's quite a rider." Me : DON'T DO IT. DON'T DO IT. DON'T DO IT....✨THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!✨ 🙈
15:42 ok THIS is my favorite part of this video. "That's how you kiss somebody.", "Joe, don't laugh at me. Joe, this is how, it works ok.", "Everyone watch Bridgerton, take notes, I know I am." 😂
8:06 😂 is the best part of this whole video. "when you're a nobleman how do you get those guns? It's a plothole" 🤣
Fitness in regency era for upper class men was often obtained through pugilism (boxing), swordplay, and riding.
Yes exactly! I like an equal power dynamic.
@@em8066 yes, absolutley
Jonathan's "I've seen it in my office." cracked me up more than it probably should.
Same
Kathony is literally everything.
Can we get a longer video? Maybe one that touches upon the entire season. This was a god-send for us older children, and it would be interesting to hear your perspective as to why these two knuckleheads made some of the choices they made in the show.
Your commentary about the muscles and the teeth was everything. 😂
Yaaay! This episode is finally here! I really enjoyed your take about how their personalities influenced their communication. If you do a follow up, I'd love to hear your thoughts about how grief impacted their lives and, due to how their mothers grieved, their perception of their roles in the family.
Yes please!!!😁
Yes! This is such a good idea! You can really see how much weight they’re carrying because they had to become responsible adults so quickly
Good summary. However i would argue that these book are closer to Georgette Heyer than Jane Austen directly.
I wish you would do a deep dive on these first born as well like you did with the youngest sibling the other day!!! As a first born myself, I really feel myself portrayed through Kate and Anthony personality and struggle
I'd love to see Young Royals get covered!
“It’s like prom all over again.” 😂
Perfect! I was looking for their therapy yesterday after I saw the Simon/Daphne therapy vid.
Thank you for this video. I have met a lot of people who talk about their relationships and say things like: "The one who loves more always has less power." And yes, if there is a great power imbalance in a relationship, it can be problematic. But here you talk about humility and that is beautiful.
I also have some suggestions on videos, I hope that is okay:
Gilmore Girls gets therapized: You could take a look at mother-daughter relationships, friendships and romantic relations.
This series is fun, romantic novel stuff, but I'd like to see you thereapize "Never Have I Ever" by Mindy Kaling.
Yesss! I love that show so much!
Hands are REALLY important when kissing someone. YESSS please.
OMG now you NEED to watch Queen Charlotte! I'd suggest commenting on the relationship built between the King and Queen and also doing a video maybe on the mental health of the King as well. ^_^ Thanks for the amazing work
Kate and Anthony's relationship is model after "Taming of the Shrew". Love that play.
To answer some of Jono's questions, the game they were playing is Pall Mall, the upper crust of society use to have boxing at Cambridge, along with horseback riding and boat racing for sports. Also, agree, hands have so many sensors that physical contact is a great act of intimacy.
Horse riding and fencing might get them the biceps 😅😂😉 Great episode ❤
Not to mention boxing. Boxing was becoming hugely popular among the younger set of the Ton, whereas fencing, while still done, was more the previous generation's sport. Also carriage driving would allow for a bit of that as well as handling the reigns for a set of horses was quite tricky (especially if one drove the quirky 2 in front and 3 in back set of horses)
Aaaaargh you did it!!! So excited for this! 🎉
Hi, Jon! Can you discuss more about Anthony and his grieving? I think it's also important because what I like about S2, and Anthony's backstory is because they showed how unprocessed grief caused to someone. And I think it could be an interesting topic to discuss. Thank you!
Seconded! Would love for Antony's grief to get therapized. :)
Jon has made a video about the effect Edmond’s death had on Anthony. It is very good. It is called dealing with grief.
@@LeonaMorrison-x4j Oh good to know. Thought I caught all the Bridgerton ones but apparently I missed one!
I loved the analysis. May I give you a suggestion? the Netflix serie Obssesion has therapy for years. Amazing unhealty things there to talk about
Can't wait for the Queen Charlotte videos
If you’re ever at a loss for new ideas you should really do a video (or videos) on the family dynamics in The Umbrella Academy or like character analyses on each of the characters because I feel like you would have so much to say about each of them and I’d love to hear your take in the show as well
Could you do a piece on Anthony and Kate about parentification and trauma? That could be very interesting!
Therapising Everybody Loves Raymond or Frasier would be so good. They are my two favourite tv shows. Plus, there are lots of varying family dynamics!
On a side note, Kate is so gorgeous, and Edwina. Like how could two sisters be so perfect.
"Nice biceps, bro" made my day, thank you
Jonathan's adlibs over the steamy scenes killsssss me
Love this! And your video on Eloise and Theo... sooo sweet. Have you watched Scenes From A Marriage? Would be so curious to see your therapize that
They keep outdoing themselves with each season.
A lot of people like Daphne and Simon more but I prefer Kate and Anthony. Great Video as always. I love your reactions
I LOVE Kate and Anthony!!!😍😍😍
“I am a gentleman.”
“Kinda.”
“And you are a lady.”
“She is, but-“
I really liked them. But got so tired when both had realised they liked each other but kept finding reasons to be apart
First him was like LETS DO THIS and she was NO, MY SISTER
Then she change her mind and was like LETS DO THIS and he was like NO MY DUTY
And at the end after the failing of the sister marriage they were both LETS DO THIS and everyone around them KNEW but were like THEY CAN'T, OUR REPUTATION!!
The difference between the mask and the man.
Kate gets the man not the performance.
I would love for you to do one of these videos on Penelope and what drives her to be Lady Whistledown.
Fine I'll go watch season 2 again ❤
What else to therapize? BUFFY AND SPIKE! There's just so much to work with there!
Yeah, those two were so...complicated.
Everyone else: Oh I love the dance scene, the music's so good and the way they look at each other is so romantic 😍
Jonathan: Why is he so buff? Their teeth are too good, it's taken me out of it.
😂😂
I much preferred the book portrayal of Kate - she had a fear of thunderstorms and it counterpointed Anthony’s fear so nicely. They both had a weakness that was based on childhood trauma but most people would see as irrational. I really wish this had been kept in
There was a scene about Kate being afraid of thunderstorms, if I'm not mistaken.
This video was BRIGHT 😅 love the videos though 😅
Love this series! 😊
Could you maybe do a video of Kate and her sisters relationship because although it is a show, situations like that could have in real life.
Lmao when you’re like “EASY” I’m WHEEZING
Every time Jono says "Whoa!" I'm dying 😂
You need to see season 3 . For me is the best because shows a real difficulty. The king’s sickness is so sad and the queen is so strong, that they surpasses everything and keep their duties
Season 3 is coming out in December. Queen Charlotte is a spin off series.
@@Hey_AJ thank you for the info. However I still thik is amazing and he should see it.
Kate was a closer as well. She and Anthony struggled with the same thing...duty to family before their hearts.
Queen Charlotte: a bridgerton story
PLEASE do the same with Claire and Jamie from outlander!!
Really enjoying these! Any chance of "The Last of Us" getting therapized?
PLEASE therapize When Calls the Heart!
And rowing boats on their giant man made lakes
@@HosCreates Ah yes, I forgot that one.
You mean that Benedict and Beatrice are Elizabeth and Darcy fan fictions...Since "Price and Prejudice" came before "The Bridgertons" novels.
@@user-qj9en1kp1m I’m pretty sure the Benedict and Beatrice being referred to here are the ones from Shakespeare’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’. 😆
After a few more Bridgerton videos - I expect you to stay up to date with the show for as long as it continues, I want to see the following shows Therapized:

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
The Marvellous Mrs Maisel
Why Women Kill

Jono maybe you could do "Before" series? The couple there I think is worth to talk about :)
Hello! Can you do a video about Penelope I adore her and I feel like people don’t understand her character that’s why they hate her. I understand how it feels to be put aside society like her! Thank youuu
